Culture: Currently, the entire sentient population of Furia is made up of Vindex, a militaristic people who see war as a necessary part of life. The entire population, with few exceptions, are ruled by various military hierarchies who control vast, individual expanses of territory. Every citizen is a member of the armed forces of their country. Discipline, battle-readiness, toughness and loyalty are the most respected virtues in Furian culture, and each Vindex is expected to dedicate himself to public service. Vindex rarely put their needs in front of the group, and more often that not conform to the beliefs of their social group as a whole. As such, most citizens are employed by their respective states. All Vindex must complete a three years conscription period in the military, and many stay on in that capacity for many years later. Those who do not are transferred to the Reserves, where they remain until they are no longer fit to fight. Most Vindex who leave the military serve the state in some capacity, whether they're a builder, firefighter, or economist.

The military is the be all and end all on Furia. There are few civilian services on the planet, as most maintenance and emergency services outfits are military units. Vindex are expected to equate themselves and their personal desires with the group. A person's place in society on Furia largely equates to their military rank. Every citizen, as a member of the military, answers to a specific rank and command structure. This is a very stringent system.

Due to a recent lack of resources in recent times, Furia has been subjected to a series of world wars between the larger military powers. This almost constant state of war has effectively plateaued population growth and placed increased emphasis on the raising to adulthood of strong, healthy offspring. Religion is effectively a null prospect on Furia, and Vindex who possess Force sensitivity are extremely rare. Most are grouped together in commando squadrons, though their ability to use the Force has not been explored and is rather basic, limited to selective empathy, reflex and precognitive techniques.

Technology: Technology on Furia is at a very low level compared to the galactic standard. The aircraft has been the dominant military technology for twenty years, with naval battleships being slowly phased out in favour of aircraft carrier-style vessels. Repeating slugthrowers are a relatively new invention, and military scientists have only just recently split the atom. Home life is comfortable and personal computer terminals are starting to become more common, but hand-held technology is still a mystery and holographic technology is considered "science fiction." Radio-waves are still the most effective means of communicating. Furia has begun a space program, but the first rocket is still yet to launch, and no Vindex has ever reached orbit.

History: Furia's history, by galactic standards, is very young but full of happenings. The native Vindex only achieved sentience around 20 000 years ago, and have only developed civilization in the last 4 000. Constantly under threat from apex predators such as the Aggron and Vaes, the Vindex evolved into strong and cunning warriors and hunters. As they spread from their original breeding hotspot, the Vindex quickly turned to war against one another. Furia's history is punctuated by many armed conflicts, all of them marked by their quick and bloody nature. As civilization grew, cities expanded and became massive strongholds. Most cities are built in strong defensible positions, with mountain regions becoming extremely populous. Some cities have even been carved into the rock, and even now, most cities still have remnants of huge stone walls surrounding their city centre and inner city quarters.

Most of Furia's historical figures are warrior Generals. The most famous of these is the great Gilbertus Albans, who in 601 ABY united most of the world under his banner following stunning victories at Illium and Paraka. Even in lands conquered by Albans, he is celebrated as a selfless public servant and brilliant soldier, a perfect example for any Vindex adolescent.

Furia is as yet undiscovered by the galaxy at large, and currently the planet is embroiled in another large-scale conflict. Nuclear weapons have not been used as yet but it is believed that many major powers possess them and are able to use them. Political analysts fear that one side will crack and use their respective arsenals, leading to mass destruction and a dreaded nuclear winter. For the first time, some Vindex are calling out for unity and peace. Truly, this is a time of great social upheaval on Furia.
