OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To expand the lore of Ahch-To
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Ahch-To (canon) Ahch-To (Chaos Canon)
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Fuegomiri
  • Designation: Non-Sentient
  • Origins: Ahch-To (canon) Ahch-To (Chaos Canon)
  • Average Lifespan: 40 Years
  • Estimated Population: Rare
  • Description: Small compared to their Ysalamir progenitors, with reduced claws and lacking the bark-gripping adaptations that leave their cousins tree-bound for life. The Fuegomiri are agile, quick-moving lizards whose most striking feature is the line of small blister-pores along their spine. These secrete a volatile enzyme that ignites upon contact with air, producing a constant, low-grade flame that flickers across their backs harmless to the lizard itself. Their eyes are large and independently rotating (like many geckos), giving them near-360-degree vision without moving their heads. Long, prehensile tongues lap moisture from leaves and caretakers' fingers alike.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type 1
  • Average Height of Adults: .2m
  • Average Length of Adults: .3m - 1m
  • Skin color: Pink
  • Hair color: Shades of purple, blue, grey and brown
  • Distinctions: Reduced climbing claws versus Ysalamir; wide, lidless eyes with vertical pupils; dorsal blister-pores weeping a glowing, viscous fluid that combusts on exposure; flames intensify from ember-orange to bright blue-white under duress. Coloration: mottled pink skin with mane-like dorsal spines in shades of purple, blue, grey, or brown.
  • Races: A mutated sub-species of Ysalamir
  • Force Sensitivity: All - Force Dependent
Strengths:
  • Fire Blisters: The lizard's dorsal blisters continuously produce a binary enzyme that ignites on air contact, sheathing its back in flames. The Fuegomiri is immune to its own fire and mundane heat. When frightened or agitated, enzyme production spikes, causing the flames to roar brighter and expand slightly a defense mechanism that startles predators and illuminates escape routes.
  • Force Bubble: The failed Ysalamir experiment inverted the nullification field into a small (3m radius), unstable sphere of raw, unaligned Force energy. Within this bubble, Force-users experience heightened sensitivity and power techniques require less focus, and raw potential flows more readily. Non-Force-users inside the bubble report a strange awareness: Turning it into a small sphere of primordial force energy similar to the monolith energy encountered by the Qreph brothers.
Weaknesses:
  • Force Nullification: The Fuegomiri's biology is suffused with the Force to an almost parasitic degree. In areas of Force nullification (Ysalamir bubbles, void stones, certain Sith alchemical zones), their flames gutter out, they become lethargic, and within hours enter fatal systemic failure. Even temporary exposure leaves them weakened for days.
  • Force Beacon: Any creature or individual sensitive to Force presence can sense a Fuegomiri from considerable distance (double normal detection range). Vornskrs, Sithspawn, and other Force-hunting predators are irresistibly drawn to them. Dark siders find the bubble's wild, unaligned energy uncomfortable like static electricity and the lizards instinctively flee from darksiders' approach, making them useful (if terrified) early-warning systems.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Omnivore: Living on a diet of veggies, meats and fruits. They can survive just about anywhere in the galaxy but are found on Ahch-To being fed by the caretakers.
  • Communication: Pheromone secretions
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs: The keepers on Ahch-To preserve them, they were experimented on by the jedi wanting to understand the mysterious of the galaxy and such several tribes raise more of the lizards for the various temples. The wild and primordial energy bubbles that they create only can cover a few meter (3) bubble around them and doesn't seem to reinforce itself like their cousins. The energy amplifying a force users capabilities but they would still have to know how to use the skills... but in a non-force users it is similar within the bubble to stonepower allowing them to be able to feel and use the force.
  • General behavior:
    • Small, trusting and generally considered adorable by the keepers on Ahch-To, the small lizards are more energetic then their forebears... with blister sacks on their backs that excrete a chemical that reacts to the air and causes a flame like effect. They are curious and overly friendly often searching around and seeking out food in bags that they often set on fire from the blisters on their back. With the caretakers of Ahch-To and the jedi they roam around and usually are near the ones with the highest force energy.
    • Curious to a fault and utterly lacking in self-preservation regarding their own flames. They will shove their burning backs into backpacks, bedding, and dried vegetation accidental arson is their primary mode of interaction with the galaxy. Caretakers on Ahch-To keep fire-resistant woven satchels for this reason.

They imprint on the strongest Force-signature in their environment. Jedi visitors to Ahch-To often find one has stowed away on their ship, having adopted them as "their" person.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
There is not much recorded about the small miri, the jedi took them from Myrkr long ago for study and results of it were experimentation to try and understand what made them able to repel the force in a bubble. Nothing was really able to be discovered but to continue to work on them less ethical experiments were done. Since technically dead miri didn't project a bubble if they were put into a state of death for small periods of time they could be examined with the force and experimented on. The end result was a newer type of creature that was formed. It was one that they could experiment on and study as the force neutralizing bubble was able to be manipulated into a wild force bubble.

The experiments were considered dangerous and using the old je'daii methods for manipulating the flesh with the force was largely outlawed but it allowed them to create a more docile lizard that responded to them and in the smaller numbnners it could be contained. The blister pods on the back were a strange inclusion but it allowed them to be found in the dark as they always looked ot be on fire and in the caves staying warm with all of the water and rain. They kept a few but allowed the creatures to breed and populate some of the smaller islands. They would be able to move through the islands by stowing away on boats of caretakers and jedi as they traveled.

The caretakers largely raised them over the centuries as they reset the temple for different jedi that visited... seeing little change beyond the ships that would arrive and from time to time in dangerous conflict sith forces that may unleash upon them monsters to try and overtake the temple. Several sithspawn across the planet and in the islands that are attracted to the miri lizards making them beneficial as they flee when around darksiders if they are alone.. so they can be an early warning system that darksiders are coming. The Jadeite jedi when they discovered them began recording and seeking as much information as they could documenting it for an Ahch-To bestiary.

Matsu Ike Matsu Ike Looking very good, more adorable vibes and this is a nice reimagining of the ysalamiri. Everything checks out here balance wise.

Just want to check on one thing. In the Religion/Beliefs section, it's stated that they're believed to boost a person to master level or give sensitivity to those who aren't sensitive to the Force. Is this true or simply superstition? What is the degree of their actual effect? Please add how far their bubbles can effect a Force sensitive being.

Ylla Caeli'runa edited in a little more description ado to clarify... if you have read cricible the monolith they enter has shadows that can make a non force user a force user but it is twisted and corrupted turning them fairly psychotic darkside... or something like stonepower which was able to be used by non force users when near and the stone.
