OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: A primary dress and urban operations uniform for the security forces of the Black Scorpions
  • Image Source: Here you go. The suit design itself is form an Italian maker, it seems this image shows up on several wholesaler sites for it.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Voodoo Military Supply
  • Model: Frong Ninnien
  • Affiliation: Exclusive to the Black Scorpion Security forces.
  • Modularity: The suits come in a wide variety of colors, and any configuration you'd expect to find on a normal set of formal-wear applies. You can also fit a holster in the breast of most jackets superbly.
  • Production: Minor. While the materials aren't exceptionally rare, the outfits are tailored to fit, and even Mr Ash can't employ a full-time army of seam-sewers.
  • Material: Primarily Glistaweb and spice spider crystalline sheddings for stain-resistance, with an armor-weave underlay for added protection and elastic and nylon linings for the utility pockets.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Formal, anti-small arms, close-quarter combat gear.
  • Weight: 5-7 kilograms, depending on the height and build of the wearer. A 500 lb muscular hulk is gonna need more fabric than a spritely little waif of a demo expert.
  • Quality: Seven against anti-personnel energy weaponry, 5 against physical blades, 2 against slug-throwers, nothing against most environmental hazards, large objects, or ionic weapons.
  • Special features: Diamond gusset for ease of leg mobility, mild electromagnetic deflection from glistaweb lining, mediocre burn and lightsaber resistance from armorweave underlay, stain-resistant, dry-clean only, custom fit, elastic-reinforced pockets.

DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES

Glistaweb, known for its elector-refractive properties, is used to make many blasters substantially less effective. The armorweave underlay increase the overall durability. Due to precise tailoring and specialized design, the outfit's more mobile than a typical business suit. The pockets have been reinforced with specialized elastic compounds to increase their strength and load-holding capacity, while the entire fabric has been chemically treated with a "Hutt-guard" stain resistant coating, so wine, blood, and the occasional melted candy bar can be taken off easily with a damp cloth.

Strengths:
  • Bolt-buster: The suit's design and hcoice of fabric makes it great for "taking a bolt" in order to protect a target.
  • Deep pockets: A number of elastic-reinforced, discreetly positioned pockets allow you to carry almost as much as a good tactical belt would, holding spare gear, ammunition, tools, fashion features, and snacks.
  • Classy: Upon visual inspection, no body can tell you're wearing more than a beautifully tailored suit. Extra weapons won't get past a pat-down.
  • Close to your Chest: Each suit is taken out enough in the chest or waist to allow for a concealed holster to fit in under the jacket.
  • Melee in Mind: The power suit is light even by light armor standards, and tailored with motion in mind. If you like close combat, this outfit is great.
  • Stain-resistant: Thanks to an advanced "Hutt-guard" coating, the outfit is more stain-resistant than you'd expect.
  • You brought a knife to a goon fight: The layered weave makes cutting the thing without precise tailoring tools a pain in the sheb. This means that vibroblades, swords, and other sharp weaponry will likely move slowly or even stop partially through the fabric.

Weaknesses :
  • It's not a friggin' tank: Physical projectiles, chemical weapons, large blunt force trauma, the occasional wildfire. This suit doesn't help with that.
  • Learn to duck: There's no head coverage, as it's a jacket, shirt and slacks. Same goes for the hands and feet.
  • Stupid space wizards: While armor weave has some limited lightsaber resistance, you can't parry a blade with your sleeve or anything so dramatic.
  • Dry clean only: Washing machines don't like the bio-electric fields of Glistaweb, you end up with a broken machine and a ruined suit.
  • What's that noise: The electric fields of Glistaweb don't normally interfere with comm-links, but when you're taking blaster fire, the "shields" emit more static on the line, causing certain device to get a little fritzy.
  • Expensive: Between the high-end tailoring, weird materials, and complex design, this suit looks good and costs plenty.
  • Still kinda conspicuous: Three-piece suits are great for galas. They look a little heavy in more casual or impoverished areas.
  • Don't taze me, though: The suit offers no real protection from ionic weaponry, as both the Glistaweb and spice-spider crystals are decently conductive to ionic pulses. Of course, most of the people wearing these thigns are organic, so it's not as large a problem.

DESCRIPTION

Using outsourced Rodian Glistaweb and a number of criminal tailors with a love for smuggling, Black Scorpion sent a truckload of materials, money and manpower to Voodoo Military supply for a simple, weirdly straightforward purpose: A suit that could save man's life and look amazing while doing it.

Named after Naboo Kaminoan fashion designer Ordo Frong Ninnien, these suits are the superlative definition of "slaying the catwalk." While Jedi and Sith look to robes for mystical inspiration, and the Mandalorian armor tells of a story of a people's culture, the Black Scorpion's "power suit" displays the wealth, prowess, and style of the Security firm that was formerly a clan of backwater assassins.

Due to the considerable expense and individual investment each suit requires, security officers may only be awarded their suits after at least seven months of service, a proper background check, and security clearance have been provided. This ensures not only that the design of the suits is kept secure, but that the people wearing them are worthwhile representatives of Mr. Ash's own interests, and can clearly operate as faces for the company.

The suits themselves incorporate many designs for military and operational usage, including lightweight, mobility oriented-design, a large number of "utility pockets" and concealing spaces to help hide weaponry and gear, and a modest amount of protective design.

Among the various squadrons, both most field-operating Assessors and all members of the Hundred Ghosts, as well as many general members, prefer the balance of mobility and protection the Power Suit provides on the battlefield. However, those who specialized in heavy-armed operations and combat deployment are less eager to engage in such weapon design.

Due to both the rank and performance requirements associated with the suits, the informal rank of "suited man" has often appeared among all of the enlisted members of the Black Scorpion security forces. Many commanding officers wear the suits into battle, and "neck tie" has become an unofficial slang for field commanders.

It is worth noting that multiple styles exist, and some members prefer three-piece, nehru cut, double-breast, or single-breasted cuts. One known Herglic officer has one that is designed with thigh-high boots and epaulets, and there is an Arkanian assessor who runs around wearing a pink Trenchcoat over his suit with a beret for some reason. Some go from garish to brilliant, and a few mimic or parody the military parade uniforms of their home planets. Although, in general, the Assessors tend to not wear ties, and the Hundred Ghosts tend to stick to dark jackets opposite white shirts.

Pretty... sleek idea you got here. :p

Anyway, looks good on the whole, I'm just wondering about this:
Curiously, ion weapons, since they affect energy and its distribution, are highly effective (but not lethal) against them.Wookieepedia
  • How does this weakness of the spider transfer to the suit?
@mention me with edits or questions.

[member="Netherworld"] Edited accordingly. The suit doesn't really have any systems that ionic weapons would damage, but it doesn't protect the wearer, or the wearer's other tech, from them. Good catch, I hadn't really thought much about it.
