Frequently Asked Questions

With the numerous incarnations of Jedi factions in the history of Chaos, I figured that a F-A-Q would be necessary. Go ahead and ask away in this thread and I will answer.

A few answers regarding the most common questions:

What is this all about?“A good roadie knows his whole job is to make someone else look good, keep someone else safe, help someone else do what they were put here to do. A good roadie stays out of the spotlight. If he's doing his job right, you don't even know he's there. Once in a while he might step on stage just to fix a problem, to set something right. But then before you even realize he was there or what he did, he's gone.”

What IS and what IS NOT The Jedi Praxeum and how is it different than other Jedi factions?
The Jedi Praxeum is more of a community, rather than an Order or faction per se. We bear semblance to EU Luke's New Jedi Order in its fluid structure and independent members. Remember how 'freelancing' Katarn, Korr, Durron and the rest of the EU NJO were? Luke taught them but did not command them what to do. They just went out and did the Jedi things they were taught.

So go out around the galaxy and do Jedi things freely. (Rule of thumb: Jedi things =/= Bombarding planets to dust)

The Jedi Praxeum is NOT the head that leads everyone under its directive but more of a 'holocron.' It aims to guide its members when they are indecisive and conflicted, it aims to teach the way of the Light rather than enforce it through Force.
Regarding the Dark Side...
Force choking and Force lightning around like Katarn in Jedi Outcast is not something we approve, nor any Dark Side techniques or applications. As I said, though, we are fluid and ENCOURAGE IC action and reaction so occasional slips are fine, but when it becomes a conscious choice to utilise the dark side of the force, the praxeum is there to take appropriate measures to help rehabilitate the wayward Jedi before they completely succumb to their darker impulses.

The Jedi Praxeum does not accept dark-siders, whether they are merely leaning or fully corrupted. That should be obvious, but Chaos history tells us differently.

BUT! - The Praxeum teaches its members to seek redemption of a dark sider. Neutralizing the dark sider should be seen as an extreme last resort, and only considered in cases where they present a credible and ongoing threat to sentient life. We believe everyone can be turned to the Light Side of the Force. We're not Lord Hoth's Army of the Light.

Regarding the Jedi Praxeum and The FactoryWe appreciate donations of limited number of useful items but our outlook, as earlier stated has been that we are not aiming to become the next Crusading Army of the Light. Jedi have predominantly, in canon, relied mainly on the Force and their sabers.

N.B: This does not mean you are forbidden to do what you want for your character!

But holistically, the Jedi Praxeum will refuse donations or offers regarding war machines. We are not soldiers but defenders of the Light.

Simply said, if you want to have your dope corvette of destruction - sure but it's going to lead to an IC reaction from the Praxeum.
