There you are, Martin thought. He should have expected this, it was only natural that someone like this would appear. An individual coated in the Darkside of the force.

Discreetly, Martin made his way down from the hilltop. The knights felt it too, quickly finding their master. They flanked him as the trio made their way to the source of the 'noise'. There was no need for any exchange of words between them, they knew what needed to be done next.

Darting through the camp, they eventually saw it, rather, they saw him. Martin narrowed his eyes, and he felt the two with him instinctively go to their sabers. He held out a hand, signaling them to wait. Perhaps this could be dealt with diplomatically. Martin then noticed the body of an old man. Perhaps diplomacy wouldn't be in the court, still, he must try.

"Might I ask what's happening here?" Martin said, as he and his knights approached the scene. With his hood pulled tight over his head, Martin studied the other man. He looked to the body again, then back to him.

How uncommon it was to find Darksiders all the way out here. Martin had his experience with that side of the force, and he knew how to dispatch it. Still, being cocky never helped anyone.

"What did he do? The old man there," He gestured to the body, "Did he offend you in some manner?" Martin asked, in a monotone voice. He put his hands over one another and waited for a response.

As the old man stood there looking on nervously beyond the surface of expression, Arcubis would grit his teeth while his eyes shifted towards the approaching man with his Knights. As he would use his right hand to reveal the hilt of his saber on his hip attached to his utility belt, he then took a defensive stance. "This man beckons for a display of power....He fears nothing..So he claims..But it seeps through his pores. This has nothing to do with you Jedi..You and your servants..Be gone..." He commanded as the group of refugees began to chatter amongst themselves. One of them looks to Martin Dux while putting his hands up in a gesture of surrender. "Ayyeeee....We want no trouble here. We were following the trail and are awaiting departure from the Empire. This man..(Points to Arcubis)..Seems to feel the presence of someone around here that he's looking for and no one knows what the hell he's talking about."

Arcubis' Eyes would shift back and forth, scanning the environment...Counting the number of people within the area..

Down a set of stairs she went, with Arla close behind. The arena's slavehold was sure to be down near the arena's base. It was always easier to give the slaves less room to travel. In that way there was less room for escape.

Once they neared the bottom, Arla bypassed Lori and put herself in front. A few guards noticed them and charged. With inhuman speed and strength, she ended their lives quickly.

A muttering was heard as some slaves behind bars had heard the commotion. Lori hushed them before whispering; "Shhhh....quiet or the others will hear you. We're going to get you out of here, but you've gotta be quiet. Understand?" Quieter murmers were heard as word was being spread among the slaves. Lori took out a lock kit and began to work on picking the locks.

Arla on the other hand noticed a blinking light in the hall. "Silent alarm has been tripped. We don't have much time."

The artillery had done its' job as hundreds of Imperial tanks and transports rolled and hovered into the city nearly unopposed. Behind them, thousands of Imperial troops jogged in at a steady pace. Rex began to believe that the city would surrender, signaling the end of this lightning conquest. However it wasn't over yet as several explosions rocked the city, and multiple tanks were destroyed.

"Captain Adam, what was that!?"

"They're using the buildings for cover and firing explosives, sir! We can't use heavy armaments without hitting civilians, what should we do?"

"The civilians should have left the city already, we gave them ample time before this invasion even started. Fire at will, captain. Spread the word."

"Copy."

Rex was losing sight of the armored units, but he could hear as they slowly began firing their cannons and rockets, and the dirt clouds were moving again as more and more was kicked up into the air. He hoped that there were no civilian casualties, though it would be inevitable. He'd need to give a message to The Empire explaining the steps taken to avoid the casualties, and fortifying the casus belli-the elimination of slavery on this planet-to avoid any serious pushback....

"I'm going as fast as I can." Lori whispered. And she was, working on the lock that was not only old, but in really bad shape. Sometimes electronic locks were much easier.

She wondered how Bains Turro and the explosion unit were doing. The two teams had to trust that both would complete their missions to the letter. She also wondered what Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun would say or do if he knew that she was there. He hated her putting herself in the front lines, but Jaster Awaud Jaster Awaud had trained her to do what was needed to be done. And sitting back in the comfort of a ship was not what would help the slaves escape. Lori had always been great at escaping, she had learned that from her youth. It was as second nature to her as being stubborn was. Usually her stubborness paid off.

~CLICK~

And it had done so here.

The lock opened and Lori opened the door, stepping out of the way so that they could pass.

Arla gestured to the stairs where others of their team stood by. "This way. Hurry." She then turned to her charge. "Lock and load."

Lori nodded and grabbed hold of her blaster rifle, already assuming that they'll be shooting their way outta there. Thank the Force she had armour on...

Bains made his way to the far side of the arena and immediately started placing charges. The first click of readiness came from Trooper 4 at the entry point of the arena. The first set of explosives were ready. Bains was halfway through setting his own charges when the second click came. Trooper 3 had completed the work Bains had seen him start. He expected the third click before he completed setting his own charges but it never came.

When Bains’ charges were all set and he still hadn’t heard confirmation from Trooper 2 he decided to head to that side of the arena on his way back to the rendezvous point. He soon found the reason there was no readiness click from Trooper 2. The man was down. “Trooper 2 is down,” he called calmly into his comm. He reached down to the fallen Trooper and pressed the distress beacon built into his armor. “Support at his position. I don’t see any bogies, but be on your guard.”

“Talk to me Trooper,”
Bains called out as he realized the downed ally was still breathing.

“G..ot. C-caught… Up… in squad… res-sponding. To our other…team,” Trooper 2 struggled to report. “Be. Fine. Lost. Charges.”

“Understood,” Bains nodded and looked around. “Any charges set?” he questioned. The injured trooper managed a nod and handed over a detonator. At that moment the other two troopers arrive. Bains handed the two detonators he had to Trooper 4. “When word comes you hit all the detonators.” He then turned to Trooper 3. “You make sure our friend here gets to the transport and a medic gets a look at him.”

The two troopers nodded their understanding and were quickly on their way back towards the arena entrance. Bains did a quick assessment of the area. There were a couple well placed charges, but one main beam would still keep a good portion of this area standing.

“Corporal Turro to search/rescue team. One member of explosives team down, not likely (to die),” Bains put out to the other team of the mission. “All the charges that are going to be set are set. Trooper 4 has instructions to blow the charges on your word. There is one beam that is going to need to be taken out personally,” a smile formed on Bains’ mouth as he pulled his rocket launcher off his shoulder. “I’m going to need evac on the West side of what will be a rubble pile once you get the transport in the air.”

Objective: 2

The group of them were heading up the stairs, back the way that they had come when both Arla and Lori got the report from Bains Turro . Mostly everything was ready, and one will need an evac once everything blows.

Well, no plan was ever perfect.

~Understood.~ That was all that Arla had responded with. There was no need for anything more. Their unit's job was to get the slaves out and their objective was not entirely fulfilled. Not yet, anyways...

Blaster fire shot by them once the first of the team reached the top of the stairs. They fired back, doing their best to shield the slaves with their armoured bodies. And still they pushed ahead, as every moment could be the difference between freedom or death.

~Heavy fire! We're taking heavy fire! Blow the northern charges!!~ Arla, Lori and the others were at the southern end. It was hoped that one of the explosions would turn the guards' attention away from them.

"Sir, the enemy has completely retreated into the palace. We're amassing a force to breach. This battle should be over soon."
"Good job, I'll be there in a moment. Don't push in until I'm there."

It was a short run, reminiscent of a jog around a neighborhood, except this neighborhood consisted of very expensive houses with slave shacks near them. It was amazing how many slave shacks there were given that slaves made up only 10-20% of the population. Of course on the capital, it made sense for there to be more.

But these massive houses and their slave shacks were barely recognizable in some areas. The artillery strike had been incredibly effective, but also incredibly brutal, as he had expected. There was no question now. This was a show of force to any would-be enemies of The Empire, but also to the military staff, which had been itching for a fight for a long time now. Rex hoped this would silence their warmongering for some time, even if it was more food for the critics of his regime.

But there was one more statement to be made today, and it would be made at the palace.

It had taken Ki some time to push through the gathered crowds towards the commotion. She was still in possession of the little girl, parents nowhere to be found.

The fur on her tails stood straight and her ears twitched as she spied the pair of men squaring off in the center. It reminded her of a school yard, but this one seethed with energy as the two stared each other down. She turned to an older woman beside her and motioned for her to take the girl,"Start getting everyone out of this area."

The refugee turned and began doing as ordered. Ki cracked her neck as a group of her Marines began assisting as well, and the Empress stepped into the ring,"Gentlemen, what seems to be the problem here? I would hate for anyone to get hurt on my watch."

Aculia Voland

Protecting her children from the shadows.
Aculia’s face was grim as she went about her deadly duty, directing Gold Squadron in the War Hawks with precision strikes as best as she was able in the circumstances. While the armored columns advanced into the city, her deadly squadron swept through in front of them, taking out the errant armored vehicle that had somehow survived the initial attack and artillery bombardment with ease with the ATGMs, then cutting down wave after wave of retreating infantry with the heavy blaster cannon. More than a few garrisoned fell before concentrated ATGM fire, and she grew more and more frustrated at both herself, Rex, and the leader of these slavers.

Was there no other way of resolving this? I know that each and every missile I’ve fired into one of their holdout buildings likely killed some poor helpless slave pressganged into logistics or medical work. Would not the site of our Star Destroyers and a brief show of force have been enough to get them to capitulate? What about the hundreds of millions of credit being burned here? Could we not have freed the entire slave population with that amount, and then backstabbed them at the end of the day?

As she watched the Elysium forces cleaning up whatever she and her squadron hadn’t managed to kill, her eyes shifted to the central palace, now likely filled with both enemy soldiers and slaves. They had already crippled much of the slaver’s military-surely they would entertain surrender? Or Rex could make them consider such. Slavers were not particularly heroic individuals after all-maybe-and her stomach turned at the suggestion-just maybe if they could be guaranteed passage offworld, they would surrender. She hated slavers more than anything-but saving the lives of whatever slaves were in the palace might be worth it.

If they decide to do a last stand, I’m going to go in on foot, damn whatever show Rex has planned for them. If they won’t surrender after this show of Force, maybe they’ll reconsider after a few get impaled on a lightsaber.

Corporal Turro heard the order to blow the northern charges. The charges he set himself. A smile came over his face as he waited for the booms. The first came and he swore he heard the crumble of duracrete. The rest came soon after and the structure started to weep. At least on that side of the arena. It wouldn’t be long now.

Bains assumed the other three of his squad were out of the arena or close to it. Trooper 4 had the look of someone a bit trigger happy, but he’d handled the detonator as expected. Not sure how many enemy guards/soldiers were left in the arena, Bains found a nice shadowy alcove to take cover in. He didn’t have time to fight off any resistance. When the orders came to blow the western side of the arena he needed to be locked on target, ready to launch, and then out of harm’s way as quickly as possible.

“North end is coming down,” Bains called out on the comm. “Good work explosives squad.”

As Arcubis exhaled he would take another look around. Kimiko Taiyou Kimiko Taiyou had approached the scene..Curious as well as to what was taking place. Arcubis saw this as the perfect opportunity to clarify...

"Most Sith you may know...If you ever encountered a creature professing such faith, are full of hate...Blind rage and anger..Although it is tempting...All of you will live to breathe another day, as I am thinking of something else that is far more important. As for you.... Martin Dux we have met before...A few years back..Surely..even in your old age you can recall the battle where your choices ultimately led to you leaving others behind? Giving them false hope for freedom under oppression? And you...(He points to the man that gave the explanation to the jedi) As honest as you may appear on the surface..You wreak of dishonesty....And don't you fret child , Kimiko Taiyou Kimiko Taiyou . I was just taking my leave. This city will fall by the very one's claiming to protect it." He exclaimed before squatting to the ground quickly and executing a force jump thirty feet into the air, accumulating debris that would kick up and seep through the surrounding crowd that were dispersing to safety. With the jump, he was headed northbound towards the surrounding forest area. Perhaps to his vessel, or to another surrounding area.
