Private Franaar's Odyssey, Part One

AllianceDiscordIcon2.png

I am being informed by Jedi Master Jonyna Si that I am no longer in the year I'm supposed to be in.
Jonyna raised a slight eyebrow. Did she just get a promotion? "Well there ya go bud. I'd suggest you get your men in order. The Tython is a big'un, and you're gonna be in for a bit of a shock when you see it."

"Understood, Admiral Izah'zore, I will permit you aboard this vessel and eagerly await your arrival. Admiral Penntru out." Franaar gulped slightly, he still wasn't exceptionally convinced of everything. He believed he was not in the time he was supposed to be, but he wasn't completely sold that this Galactic Alliance was the new Republic. High Command did... answer? Although the transmission should have went to Coruscant... it didn't feel it went to Coruscant.

He turned to Jonyna, "well, it couldn't possibly be larger than an Inexpugnable class, could it?" He paused briefly, looking down at the droid, "Master Jedi, I must invoke my military rank. I need to see the history and information logged in your ships data storage to confirm what you are saying, but I need your droid completely disconnected. I will not tamper with your ship, I swear on my life and duty, I will only access records. But I can't trust the information I am reading if I believe the droid might be changing what I'm reading."

He stepped over to a panel which seemednto have a screen on it for accessing information, "I'm in a hairy situation here, you must understand it from my perspective... If I'm wrong here, it means I'm surrendering every living soul on this ship and the escorts to imprisonment, and not even giving them a fighting chance. Imprisonment is the best case scenario. If I'm right, doing everything I'm doing, then there is nothing to worry. If it was only myself, I would surrender my command and allow myself to be at the mercy of this... Galactic Alliance. But I have a duty to the men and women on my ship. Please, allow me some leeway of trust." He leaned over on the panel, prepared to begin looking through information.

He would wait for the Jedi's command of the droid before perusing anything. In his world, often times, Jedi were seen as Generals and Commanders, so the military looked to them for guidance. Yet, in this moment, Franaar had to take control to make sure he was doing right by the people in his command, so that's why he hoped the Jedi would concede to him invoking his rank. If she gave the order, he would begin. "What happened to my Galactic Republic?" He would only ask this if she agreed, as he was getting her answer and seeing what information the ship had to corroborate.

That...was a strong question. A grave question.

"I think you'll find my friend Dice here will have a better answer than this ship will. He dates back to the Great Sith War. But if you insist, the ship is yours to peruse. Got plenty of archives to go through on this old bird."

The bot gave a bit of a protest, but Jonyna wasn't going to have it. This ship had seen plenty, and yet, it was the bot that offered the answer, she knew. It was up to the officer to decide.

Franaar sighed, realizing there had been more than a thousand years since his Republic last stood. It was like Franaar thinking about the legends of Tython and when the Jedi first rose to protect the galaxy, but he would not ask the droid. His paranoia ran deep, so he would trust the logs as they hopefully weren't tampered with. His heart began to sink, however, as he read on. The sacking of Coruscant, the Treaty, three galactic wars, it was beginning to be overwhelming, and he started skimming the titles of information. The Ruusan Reformation, the new Republic, the Clone Wars. Then he stopped. The old mans knees began to buckle as a hand grabbed his chest, becoming weak and sorrowful. This was how he had to find out, reading it in a book, everything that had happened, and he had no even ventured beyond the Battle of Yavin. "The... the Galactic Empire? Darth S-", he became enraged, "after so much hard work, we were infiltrated by the Si-," his yelling stopped immediately, slipping forward, grappling to the starships datapanel, nearly having a heart attack. He fell to his knees, but he found his composure and overcame the pain.

If the droid of the Jedi sought to his aid, he would whisper to them that he was fine, he just needed a minute. After a moment, he reached his free hand up to wipe at his eyes, taking a long, deep breath. "The Republic died," he nodded his head, "I understand," he slowly rose to his feet. If anyone helped him he would not fight it, he would just stand up, "but Captain Garret won't." He turned around, Jonyna able to see a look of desperation and newfound determination on his face, which masked the sorrow and guilt that leaked from his eyes. "Master Jedi, please accompany me immediately, we have to deal with Captain Garret before he gets to the crew," he stormed out of the Jedi's ship, through the airlock. When aboard the Interrogator, he looked to two security patrolling the halls and called out to them, "you two, with me, prepare yourselves."

Jonyna watched quietly as the man absorbed the infomation. She had lived it. The fall of the Republic. The rise of the Empire. There was still so much to learn for Franaar, but that would come with time.It was moments like this that kept the Cathar humble. The history of it all. That no matter what, the story of the galaxy kept turning, no matter who you are.

Jonyna nodded, following behind. None of the men would take it well, but it would be a bridge they would all have to cross. Their lives had been changed forever, but they still had a place in this strange galaxy.

Franaar paused, staring at a door in front of him with determination. Jonyna could tell why, this door was the Captain's Quarters, the mans office. He had escaped to his room to wait for the Republic to arrive, putting all of the work on Franaar. Things were going to be very different from here on out. Franaar made a hand gesture as it stayed at his side, the two security guards readied their weapons, extremely timid at what was going on. "Master Jedi, please stick by my side. You are the only leverage I have to keep this from turning into a fight," he took a breath. If she objected to be used as a tool, Franaar would explain he wasn't being used in any illicit manner. She was being used to preserve life.

He approached the door, trying to activate it to open it. It buzzed an error, showing it was locked. Franaar didn't knock as he started to input an override command, showing he knew the Captain well enough that he wasn't in there for any private matters. As the door opened, Captain Garret looked up from his desk which faced the door, completely and suddenly angry at the Admiral. "Franaar, what the feth are you doing, overriding my lock? Who is... what in the Force do you want?"

"Garret, there's a lot more that's happened than just our hyperdrive malfunction. This is Master Jedi Jonyna Si, of the... Galactic Alliance," he said as he walked in, keeping himself restrained as he hoped Jonyna would enter with him. The soldiers stayed outside. "Oh wonderful, a Jedi, because we need them. But what do you mean? Did you slip up or did you say a different navy? We're part of the Galactic Republic, Franaar. I shouldn't be surprised, your foul ups will get you out of the Navy soon enough, anyway," the Captain hacked back at Franaar. "No, Garret," he tensed up, taking a breath, "we're not in the time we were, our hyperdrive malfunctioned in such a way that--" "--that we're in the future, and the Republic is dead." The tension in the air became thick enough to cut with a knife, although Garret seemed just fine. He lit up a cigarra and took a few puffs on it, looking over to catch Franaar's reaction. "So you know--" {color=red]"I know that you trusted this so-called fething Jedi's word without coming to me first, no, in fact you went to her ship just by intuition. She could have killed you, Franaar. Jedi or not, I don't care. The republic is gone from what I can tell, so I'll be nice and ask you once - get off my ship, Franaar."[/color]

What Franaar feared had just come to fruition in an instant, he only hoped the Galactic Alliance would be here soon. "Garret, don't do this. The Galactic Alliance is on its way, we don't hav--" "Oh, you want to put me on trial, get your little justice jollies frollicking, Franaar? No, this was my ship before you came aboard, Republic or not, this is my ship."

"Sir." Jonyna said with a calm, but stern voice. "I understand you're not happy with the current circumstances. No one is going to punish you, and no one in the GA is going to demote or court martial you, if only you act with civility. I can promise that." Her hand was firmly waiting to draw Lucy, and Matthew, even if her hands looked to be at her side. "All I ask if you come with us and meet with the Galactic Alliance commander who's on her way."

She hoped it would be that simple. Something told her it wouldn't, but the Force never gave her simple ways of doing things. Her hands kept free, but she knew the moment she needed to, her tail was already wrapped around the ion blaster she had called Matthew, ready to quick draw the blaster if need be.

"The Republic is gone, cat. I admire the resilience of your species, I was under the impression they were defeated at the hands of the Mandalorians, but the Republic did not hold out as you did. I-" "Captain Garret you will bite your tongue, this is Jedi Master Jonyna Si and you will show her the respect she deserves. She has given up her freedoms for a greater cause, one you could never hope to fulfill!" Franaar interrupted the Captain angrily. The former was definitely more regulation speaking, but the latter was Franaar taking Garrets uncalled for insubordination personally. Unfortunately, it would not have the effect anybody hoped for. Garret didn't respond for a moment, his eyes locked onto Franaar. His eyelids soon became squinted, and he became angry, "Franaar, this is my office, my quarters - where I sleep, and you dare to not only interrupt me, but disrespect me. I've had about enough of you questioning my orders, this, however, takes the proverbial cake. Guards!" With his order, the two guards outside that were initially in support of Franaar, opened the door to the Captains quarters, looking in. "y-yes, Captain?" one of the men stuttered. Another patrol showed up, curious what was going on. There were now four soldiers outside the Captains quarters, "throw these two out an airlock, immediately."

And there it was. Her mind was already planning out an escape. Her tail, hid under her coat, already aiming the blaster in it's grip at the first guard. She could hit both before either could fire on her. The two behind her couldn't take her out so quickly either. She could stun them before they'd even have a chance to put their hands on her. But she needed to figure out how to deal with the captain. For now though, shots hadn't been fired yet.

"Sir, I'll warn you, you fire on me, I will retaliate. I don't care what your admiral says, if you hold your fire and allow my men to arrive, then we'll be happy to have you as part of the Alliance navy. We need men like you. You're right, the Republic fell, but this state, the Galactic Alliance, is a successor to that. We'll have you if you come willingly, but if you attack a jedi, you'll be marked as a criminal."

She paused, looking to Franaar himself. "You. Quiet, let me handle this."
