PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Produceable from most forms of animal biomass
  • Can mimic the functions of most organs
STRENGTHS
  • Not Picky: FormGel can be created from almost any animal matter available, and formed into almost any shape and size required.
  • Versatile: FormGel can emulate the functions of most specialized organic tissues and organs, often simultaneously.
  • Extremophile: FormGel is very resistant to most environmental hazards, such as heat, cold, radiation, vacuum, and chemical contaminants.
WEAKNESSES
  • Punctured: FormGel is an unpleasant, semi-liquid substance held into solid shapes by a controlling membrane. Should this protective barrier be breached, it often quickly dehydrates and dies.
DESCRIPTION

FormGel is a quasi-living, jelly-like substance formed from collected organic matter.

Should they defeat their foes on the field of battle, Helix forces have been observed collecting and stacking the remains of enemy forces for "processing". Such corpses are then rendered down through a variety of methods, ranging from small collection droids to enormous, ill-smelling facilities dedicated to the production of this substance.

In its default configuration, FormGel is a disquieting, translucent pink, red, or orange hue, but can be changed in color and opacity easily enough should its maker wish it.

Once created, FormGel is ideal for the creation of soft tissue for Bio-Droids. It is pliant, receives and sends electric impulses similarly to nerve or brain tissue, yet can stiffen and act as muscle tissue on command. FormGel naturally generates a protective membrane around itself, allowing it to hold a desired shape. This membrane is fairly rugged, granting a FormGel structure a degree of resistance to moderate damage. FormGel is highly vulnerable to dehydration, however, and too many puncture wounds can gradually result in the substance withering.

FormGel falls somewhere between organic solid tissue and synthetic liquid, defying easy categorization. Technically, however, as it is created from living blood, bone, and flesh, most outside viewers tend to tentatively regard it as organic.

FormGel can be used to shape organs under laboratory conditions. Under ideal circumstances, these organs can even replace those naturally occurring in living beings, though they retain an unsettlingly-translucent appearance unless otherwise altered. It is also ideal for use in environment suits and vacuum insulation equipment, provided that the wearer has no squeamishness over wearing so questionable a substance. FormGel is highly resistant to extreme temperatures, poison, disease, radiation, and other such common hazards, rendering it a solid choice for the insulating layers often found in protective garb.
