EMPIRE REBORN

ADUMAR, WILD SPACE
Tp9eI99.png

Adumar. A planet home to rich military culture and rigid social hiarchy and featuring vast industries that would make a fine addition to the War Industries of which ever faction controlled the planet. Since the collapse of Talvar's Empire decades ago, Adumar had maintained it's neutrality avoiding the the brutal Core Wars between the Galactic Alliance and the Dark Empire in recent memory despite being sandwiched between both galactic powers. Now that the Dark Empire had collapsed and the Core Wars were over, the once prevalent fear of being dragged into a major galactic conflict that had been raging on right next to them had dissipated although that did not mean that Adumar would remain free from the gaze of outside forces.

In recent times, an Imperial-aligned Buisnessman by the name of Irumakka Sednava had established himself on Adumar building a small but growing Starship company on the Wild Space planet. For a while, Sednava's business had gone under the radar throughout the larger market only attracting a few clients until lately as it would be subject to great interest by none other then the former Lord-Regent of the Dark Empire, Marlon Sularen. During the final days of the Dark Empire, Sularen had noticed the rise of Sednava's business and had planned to bring Adumar under Imperial control in order to incorporate Sednava's Company into the Imperial Military-Industrial Complex. However the Deep Core rebellion and the Mandalorian invasion had kept the Lord-Regent preoccupied, and by the time he could focus on a possible expansion on Adumar, the Dark Empire fell apart leaving it unable to claim Adumar's vast industries for itself.

However despite the collapse of the Empire, Sularen did not waver in his interest. While Adumar was now out of his reach, Sednava's business was not and through Sednava, there was the possibility that the Imperial Warlord could gain access to Adumar's Industries and add Sednava's Corporation to his growing underground Military-Industrial Complex. Thus, a meeting was arranged and the Warlord of the Empire made his way to Adumar ready to meet with the Imperial Business and set the terms of a potential partnership between A.A.S.D.R and the Empire Reborn.

Before long Sularen's Flagship, the INV Sularen's Revenge was parked in orbit of Adumar and the Imperial Warlord himself had boarded an Imperial Shuttle which made it's way towards a private landing platform right outside A.A.S.D.R's headquarters in Cartann City. As the Shuttle made landfall, the former Lord-Regent would emerge from it, flanked by his usual escort of Imperial SpecNav Commandos as he made his way into the A.A.S.D.R Headquarters and towards the conference room where his meeting with Sednava was scheduled to take place once inside. Today would mark the next major step in Sularen's Project Pentastar as he continued his efforts to revitalize the Empire under his command and assert himself as the "Heir to the Empire" and hopefully, Sednava would share his enthusiasm and would not be too difficult to negotiate with.

Landfall. Irumakka watched through the tinted glass of the conference room window as the shuttle of his potential business partner touched down, shifting his weight and using the reflection to straighten his black kepi, before turning away as Sularen emerged, moving to the table and taking a seat, brushing off his service uniform with a gloved hand one last time as he reviewed some papers at his end of the table. Through a second window, he could see a large carrier being loaded with an order of his EGS-3 escort gunships, preparing to embark on a long, circuitous route around Alliance-held space, bound for the Risen Empire at the other end of the galaxy.

Sednava reflected in the few minutes he had before Sularen's arrival. He was an imperial through and through, with the scars to prove it. His political allegiance still lay firmly with his small faction and its emperor, for which he'd spilled blood and nearly died years ago, and it would not be swayed. However, by forming business alliances with this faction, securing Marlon Sularen as a customer and business ally, he could obtain funding to protect his faction's interests, supply them with better ships, and at the same time he could help enforce imperial order on his end of the galaxy, through supporting the Empire Reborn. And so he had taken this meeting. As long as this "Heir to the Empire" did not demand exclusivity... a deal could certainly be struck.

He stood up, watching the door and waiting for the A.A.S.D.R. employees to finish escorting Sularen and his entourage to him. It would be improper to already be seated when the Lord-Regent arrived, and he knew he should not sit back down until the SularenCo CEO was seated. The man outranked him, after all. Sednava continued to stand at attention when Sularen arrived, his well-maintained Risen Empire rank insignia plaque displaying his former position and rank as a starfighter corps Captain, prior to his abrupt retirement.

Once Sularen and his entourage made it to the conference room, the Imperial Warlord dismissed them sending his entire protection detail back the shuttle save for a pair of Commandos who entered the Conference with the former Lord-Regent standing behind him as Sularen moved forth to greet Sednava. "Mr. Sednava, a pleasure to meet you at last." Sularen said extending his hand for a handshake. "I've heard alot about your business and your past connections with the Empire." he added.

After greeting the Imperial-aligned Buisnessman, Sularen proceeded to take his seat directly across Sednava's position within the Conference table, eager to begin the talks. There was so much to discuss and so much opportunities to grasp here, and the Lord-Regent intended to both seize those opportunities and leave no stone unturned. All for the sake of an proper Imperial resurgence.

Irumakka Sednava waited until Marlon had settled before seating himself at his place at the table. "I'm very pleased to meet you too, sir. I've heard quite a bit about you as well. Your reputation is quite well-known, even out here in the middle of Wild Space." He pulled his chair in as he sat, and picked up a small stack of papers, a polite smile spreading over his face. "Your message gave me some of the basic details of the deal you're interested in making with me, but I'd love to hear, in your own words, exactly what you'd be expecting of me and what I should be expecting from you going forward, if I were to join the growing group of supporting businesses and companies your 'Empire Reborn' is gathering."

The former pilot watched the Lord-Regent's face, examining him and sizing him up. From what he could see and what he had already heard, the warlord was professional, experienced, and ambitious —just what Sednava wanted in a customer or business partner. However, he also had a reputation for being stubborn, and if their goals did not already perfectly align as the businessman hoped they would, there was no doubt negotiations would be difficult. But that was fine. Negotiations and dealmaking were among Sednava's strongest skills, regardless of how tough the opposition might be. He patiently waited to hear the offer that Marlon had prepared.

Once Sednava has finished speaking, Sularen proceeded to clasp his hands on the desk and offer his response. "We'll simply put, i want to uplift your business and help it gain more prominence within the galactic market." Sularen simply responded. "The reason i want to do this is to raise an Imperial-aligned Megacorporation. One that will rival the likes of the Trade Federation and the N&Z Umbrella Corporation but unlike both of those megacorporations it will be bound to the interests of the Empire rather then being purely profit-driven." Sularen explained.

"My problem with these megacorporations is that they wield too much political and economic influence and while the sheer scale of their operation can sometimes be beneficial to the Imperial cause they have proven to be willing to use their political and economic capital against Imperial factions as shown when the Trade Federation tried to blockade the Empire of the Lost or when the Corporate Interests Guild embargoed the Dark Empire. I want to ensure that by the time a proper Imperial resurgence comes around, the next Imperial Government will have a reliable and loyal Megacorporation ready to advance it's interests and provide it with quality products."

As he finished Sularen looked at the retired pilot interested in hearing how he might respond to this. He was offering an opportunity for him to elevate his business to greater heights and give it a greater role in the future of the next Empire. However Sularen still understood that such an opportunity alone would most likely not suffice in convincing Sednava to join his envisioned Imperial Megacorporation. But given that he was a man of compromise, Sularen was ready to find a middle ground with Sednava, all he needed now was to wait and see how Sednava would respond.

This much of the proposition, Sednava had already known beforehand. He shifted in his seat before responding to the Lord-Regent. "I see that you make no mistake about my ambitions, sir. My interest, far more than my profits, is assisting the spread of the imperial ideals of order and security throughout the galaxy. You've certainly come to the right person with this proposal. The idea of helping to support the rise of the next major imperial faction is very appealing to me. " The ex-pilot tilted his head quizzically, and in doing so, a bit of burnt scar tissue peeked up over the top of his collar. "I'm most concerned with the details of such an arrangement. How is this new megacorporation to be run? You mentioned in your message it was a conglomerate of many small businesses. Will I maintain sole independence within it, in terms of running my operations, or will there an executive body formed from the owners of the multiple other businesses that comprise it? Additionally, would joining this conglomerate force me to limit my customer base outside of whichever imperial faction you choose to uplift? Do you require exclusivity?"

Using a gloved hand, Irumakka Sedna gestured towards the window that overlooked the EGS-3 escort gunships being prepared for shipment. "That order is going out to the Risen Empire, far on the other end of the galaxy. They are not only loyal customers of mine, but it was under their banner that I flew, before my retirement. If I'm to make my business part of your organization, I'd need to be reassured that I'm not abandoning them before we proceed any further. He set his jaw. This was the one thing he could not budge on, and these were the questions he needed answers to. He dearly hoped the responses he heard from Marlon Sularen were the ones he wanted.

As Sednava considered Sularen's proposal, he inquired on how the former Lord-Regent's proposed Megacorporation would be run as well as seeking to address his concerns about a potential conflict of interest with the Risen Empire. Sularen was not too familiar with the Risen Empire and only knew that they were a new Imperial faction that had risen in Wild Space, recently conquering the world of Bakura and establishing it as their seat of power. It was interesting to hear that Sednava was a client of theirs as Sularen was completely unaware that he had already been dealing with them and had previously served under them. Nevertheless, this changed little as there was always room for compromise in these types of situations.

"Concerning how the Megacorporation will be ran, i intend for it be spearheaded by a Board of Directors consisting of the heads of each individual corporation, each of whom will have an equal say in the management of the megacorporation. After all, i intend to uplift your corporations and elevate them into a position where it can contribute to the Imperial cause more efficiently and keep profit-driven megacorporations out of Imperial affairs." Sularen responded, both addressing Sednava's concerns about the proposed megacorporation's leadership and re-iterating his original vision for the megacorporation.

Then Sularen moved to address the issue of the Risen Empire. "I have no issue with your company doing business with the Risen Empire. In fact, by having a mutual corporate beneficiary, proper ties between the Risen Empire and the Empire Reborn could be established and solidified as our primary objective is to see to it that all of the scattered Imperial groups and remnants are united under a singular banner. After all unity is required if we are going to be able to confront those who would seek out the complete and total eradication of Imperialism across the galaxy."

The black-garbed business owner was relieved he wasn't abandoning the faction with which he was irreversibly aligned, and he was comfortable enough with the idea of being part of an executive board. The pilot's business had started as a means of profit, back when it was only a repair shop, but he liked to think it had grown into something more than just a generator of revenue. After all, Irumakka now had enough to be comfortable, and his priorities hadn't been credits in some time. He cared only about helping the Risen Empire, and about furthering the spread and influence of imperialism throughout the galaxy. By joining this group, he could better do both...

Sednava allowed himself to lean back in his chair ever so slightly. " I see. In that case, I have no issues with making my company a member of your 'megacorporation'. I promise that if you'll have us, my company will pull its weight and keep up with the increased production demands this will entail. Of course, seeing as you approached me with this offer, you must already have some confidence that we're capable of such." The captain's smile widened ever so slightly. " Could I perhaps interest you in a short tour of the factory? I'm sure you'd like a chance to inspect the efficacy and efficiency of our production methods for yourself before allowing us to join you." He hoped the lord-regent would accept the offer, but also completely understood if he was short on time.
