LFG Force Users on Ossus

Anybody doing anything with Ossus? The Eye of Ashlanae, The Jedi Academy, The Jedi Temple, and The Great Jedi Library?

If not, I’d love to have Ran, here, form a team of Jedi to take what remains of the Jedi History of Ossus and build upon it.

Would anyone be interested in that?

It would require delving into forgotten ruins, engaging with Jedi lore and legends from the past and creating and connecting them with the legends here and now. It would also require our character’s hard labor, logistics, and connections. Maybe even a few subs if that’s the way we want to play it.

If someone is already doing things on Ossus, point me in that direction. I’m looking for a place for Ran and I’m thinking Ossus or somewhere else with a significant Jedi History.

Oh, I would absolutely be interested in this. You have actually described almost exactly what Braze has been working toward for quite a while now, so I would love to connect what Ran is doing into it rather than have us accidentally running parallel projects.

Braze has had a fairly long-running relationship with Ossus and the Great Jedi Library. He spent part of his exile living within the old Library, exploring the surrounding ruins, meeting people there, studying what remained, and gradually turning his attention toward restoration. By the time of Delving into the Great Library, he had explicitly set his sights on restoring the Great Jedi Library to its former glory.

It has actually turned into a fairly long-running plot at this point:

Previously on Ossus…

Continuing the Work…

  • Bacta to Basics — Braze intends to return to the Great Jedi Library and hopes to organize a Temple Guard response to the group occupying it.
  • Force Artifacts, Books, and Holocrons — We Pay Better — The Great Library Initiative; preservation, responsible study, protected archival access, and recovery of historically significant Force material.
  • Censorum Arcanum | Nihilus Decree — Recovery and reclamation through the Shadow Conservatory, and active opposition to competing efforts surrounding Force-related sites, knowledge, and relics.

A lot of what I have been building since those earlier Ossus threads has grown naturally out of them.

Braze reconstructed the Ossus Codex Keys from recovered Ossan notes and surviving fragments specifically to interact with surviving Jedi infrastructure: archive doors, temple seals, holocron nexuses, hidden temples, and library caches. They were basically made to facilitate exactly the sort of ruin-delving, archaeology, archive recovery, and Jedi-history plots you're describing.

More recently, I've also started the Great Library Initiative. That is an active effort to acquire historically significant knowledge, relics, books, codices, records, artifacts, holocrons, and other Force-related material for preservation, responsible study, and protected archival access.

It has also begun creating some natural opposition.

The Censorum Arcanum / Nihilus Decree is another active effort concerned with collecting, categorizing, and archiving Force-related materials throughout the galaxy. Its own opening also raises the possibility that the campaign may amount to the sequestration and deconsecration of Force-related sites and knowledge.

Braze has already begun interfering with that effort. In the current H'ratth expedition, while the larger group is occupied above, he's slipped away with one of the Ossus Codex Keys and is trying to find another route down toward the buried vaults.

I've also been developing the Shadow Conservatory around the same general purpose. Braze's Temple Guard work has increasingly moved toward restoration and reclamation: recovering what he can, protecting what remains, and preserving it there. My intention is to connect that with the Great Library Initiative, Ossus, and other like-minded efforts, then use it as a foundation for Recovery and Conservation plotlines that bring Jedi Shadows, Temple Guards, archivists, scholars, explorers, and other Jedi together around the preservation of Jedi Culture.

The stories I have in mind aren't only about acquiring things. I want the work surrounding them too: locating lost sites, researching them, getting inside, recovering what survived, dealing with other interested parties, transporting material safely, cataloguing it, restoring damaged pieces, studying what can responsibly be studied, and eventually giving what is recovered somewhere secure to belong.

So when you mention rebuilding on Ossus, exploring what survived there, connecting old Jedi history to the present, gathering people who actually care about the work, and dealing with the logistical side of creating something lasting...

Yes. Very much yes.

I also don't consider any of this something Braze needs, or ought, to accomplish alone. Something on the scale of restoring the Great Library should need scholars, archaeologists, builders, logistics, security, Temple Guards, Shadows, historians, healers, diplomats, people who know how to preserve fragile material, and probably an unfortunate amount of digging through rubble.

If Ran wants to start gathering people around Ossus and turning those ruins into something living again, Braze would have every reason to get involved.

I think there is quite a lot here that we could connect together.
