Worlport
Yolo’s Cantina

Rumors, that was Judah’s business, especially when those rumors added up to anything suspiciously pointing to a rogue force signature, or untrained force signature. Either way there had been enough rumors to justify a trip, and a break away from his normal routine with the Army of Light. Judah was not foolish enough to just take off without telling anyone where he was going though. The only person who really needed to know was his C.O. and new friend @[member="Cambria Zadira"]. Regardless of how hard Judah tried to keep from getting to the place where he could potentially feel the pain of loss again, it seemed the force was determined to see him heal from the loss of his master. Judah had yet to tell Cambria about his loss, and without knowing it, she was helping him cope. It was likely best that way. Judah was not one to draw attention to his own problems. He would rather focus on helping others. It was usually that way for most people. The truth was helping someone through their problems was usually easier than dealing with your own, and that’s where Judah was.

Truth be told, it was hard for Judah to leave the makeshift headquarters of the fledgling movement. Everything he had heard philosophy wise was something Judah could not disagree with. There were parts of the creed he had to work through, mostly the fact it was seemingly gray. Judah allowed for gray, but saw the world in black and white. Some would say it was a Sith quality, but Judah never agreed with that over generalization. There were many Jedi who were not what they preached, which was partly why the Knight found himself with the Army of Light. Judah would rather be part of a group of individuals who remained true to who they were, then be tied to a group that hid behind their code but did not follow it.

Judah did not know why he was chasing the rumors, other than it was part of who he was as a Jedi Shadow. If this individual was a threat Judah wanted to remove it, but the only way to find out was to find the person who was attached to the force signature. The Knight was working off a hunch. Where was a perfect place to hide if you were force sensitive and did not want to be found? Judah headed for worlds with high populations away from the core worlds. The Mid-Rim world of Ord Mantell was a good choice considering the high traffic volume of off world visitors. The casinos, and other shady establishments, guaranteed there was ample underworld activity, besides the reputation the world had for it anyway. If the individual was on the world then paths would cross. Things would happen as they usually did.

The routine was simple. Judah picked a cantina which also provided cover for the underground activities the world offered, whether that was to satisfy a person’s vices or find work. The Knight ordered his drink, Corellian Whiskey, and took a seat in the shadows near a wall facing the door where he could see and sense every person that walked in and out. It was a game of patience. Sometimes it proved to be successful and other times Judah left having only enjoyed a fine glass of whiskey. With drink in hand, Judah found the perfect seat. The mug was set on the table, and the Knight pulled out his pipe. It was a recreational thing, and not something Judah did often. The pipe was mostly for cover, which Judah was undercover at the moment in some sense. Even his clothing choice did not advertise his alignment as a Jedi. He seemed more like a ranger than anything, though his cloak was mostly worn to hide the twin saber hilts which hung from his belt. The game had begun. Judah’s target would come to him.

Marek’s parents would disown him if they knew he was getting a tail. He wasn’t supposed to be leaving a trail, not at all. He had a job, he had a gun and he had a ship. There wasn’t much else for him to worry on. The major problems were settled. His ship would find him a job, his gun would let him keep it. Being solo did work, but he was reconsidering his ship, he’d seen a Lone-A Scout on Corellia his last time there, but his shuttle was much more suited for him at this point. All sorts of decisions.

The one thing that his parents did give him, was the fear. Fear to keep himself alive. He needed to make sure he wasn’t found out, and that was the trickiest part. His Force powers, well, they really weren’t much. A bit of an explosive temper, Marek was able to do things when the occasion called for it and he was rightfully jacked up. Aside from that, really, he just knew when to play and when to fold, and that was important.

And the ordinance worlds weren’t any place most people wanted to be found. That was why he made his way to the cantina, dark wash jeans, a leather jacket, and his pistol on his hip. He approached the bar, and ordered a whiskey on the rocks before turning to survey the room. Clearly, he was reading, but that wasn’t anything he could control, and there was something different this time, but he didn’t want to bring attention to himself, and elected to ignore it, and focus on the folk who looked like they had something to move.

Judah canned everyone that walked into the bar. Finally his attention settled on a dirty blondish man. It was clear a force aura was coming from him, but what was the extent of it. This was the rogue aura for sure, but there was no sense of whether it was light or dark. Judah could observe for a bit, but he had to make sure the man did not leave the bar. This was going to be tricky in a way since Judah was not ready to give himself away. For now he could stay, but was preparing to move at a moments notice. Could the young man control the force, or was simply someone with a connection fumbling around with it? It was time to test the man a bit.

The empath reached out with his mind. If the man had any sense of the force Judah would be discovered. There was the good chance that the man wasn't discerning at all, which would prove his skill was untrained. It seemed like a good test. Acting normally, Judah took a drink and spoke mentally.

"I was wondering when you were going to pop in... you have been quite the subject of rumor lately..."

That was really the big trick, was keeping under the radar with all the Force users about. Sure, he couldn’t complain, he was able to use it, but there were so many Force users that it made for a troubling time to try to hide. He hadn’t really trained with the Force. Just enough so it wasn’t always wild. He couldn’t really tell the difference on people, unless he was looking for them. It was bothersome. Maybe some day he’d find someone who could clear this all up.

Soon, maybe.

Turning from the bar when he heard something enter his mind, he blinked, scanning the bar with his eyes. Who was doing this? Still, he wasn’t going to speak, not yet. Though he was releasing a whole lot of panic into the Force. He was a rumor?

Here Marek was thinking he was being slick.

Looking to the man who he had just spoken to, Judah waited for their eyes to lock. @[member="Marek Starchaser"] had certainly gotten the message as he was now looking over the area for the origin of what he had heard. Now it was all game for Judah. Hopefully the man could figure it out. After all, he had been smart enough to avoid detection for so long. Had it not been for the fact he was being purposefully looked for, the man might have avoided being tracked down in the first place. Judah continued to sip his drink and puff his pipe. Marek would soon put things together, and when he did, Judah would have the table guest he was waiting for.

Until that happened Judah contemplated what it was he wanted. Would Marek be the type to join the Army of Light? He seemed to be a bit of a loner. Traveling alone was the best way to move about undetected, the best way to hide. Would he give that up to fight evil in the galaxy? Likely not, but Judah wasn't about to decide for him. No, it would come up sometime, somehow. It was always how things were. Conversations were meant to be crafted, at least these kind. Patience was the key, and Judah had plenty.

This Force stuff was really difficult. He had no idea how his cousin lived with it so strongly as part of his daily life. Really, it was just bothersome. Sure, it could be a tool, but even Coren had some sort of philosophy behind it, even if it was a kind of unique and odd situation. Maybe philosophy was the way to make it work, but Marek did not have any need for hokey dogma. Just get himself surviving and paid.

The thing was, he was started to feel the flow and ebb with all this Force stuff. He looked around, even after he pinpointed the source. Part of it was the not-so-confused look on the face that was looking at him. Must be the one who did something, after all.

Nodding to the bartender, he tapped the rim of his glass for another whiskey. No sense in making an appearance without at least bringing a drink, right? Grabbing his jacket, and eyeing the table, he made his way around the bar, giving a nod and a wink to one of the women playing billiards, before making his way to the table. “What exactly are you after?”
