Force-chemotherapy

The past few weeks forced Cathul to reconcile with her past as a healthcare professional (especially as it pertains to the period covering her tenure as Governor of Azure) especially since Therapy Command was deployed over Inysh and she was to continue curing patients from the Atrisia Campaign, while the Excubitor is in orbit around Abregado-Rae, on whose bridge she sits. The campaign caused suffering on a vast scale, and the flagship of Therapy Command, the ANS Excubitor, is not quite fully operational, which the Alliance navy could afford since the main heavy unit of the command was the ANS Hero of Coruscant, which was a destroyer-carrier in the tradition of the Imperator or the Kandosii. Oh, the engineering crew always joke about complete operational status being months away. The next step was fitting the final round of weapons and, if engineering considerations permit it, another squadron or two. It might have seen battle for the first time on Lujo, where it utterly defeated what remained of Jagger Fuga's fleet. Also these past few weeks were like a game of musical chairs as far as which ship was her station. As an admiral, she was at the helm of Therapy Command, even though her exact grade among the admiralty is still pending, but not expected to be higher than vice admiral.

"Admiral, there's a patient called [member="Kami Meran"] waiting for you in the main docking bay"

"Send her to one of the ship's sickbays. Tell me which sickbay once she makes it to a sickbay"

god dammit Kami hated relying on others.
she could just...
" I can jist.." She started as her sister flew up to her.
" you need treatment. you can'e sweat this one out. you berk. this is Cathul not one of those Quacks. " the tiny little fairy yelled visibly shaken.
"Fine.. i.. just dont like people."

"Admiral, you might be forgiven for not knowing the ins and outs of your ship's internal layout, but it might be best to go directly to the ventral hangar to meet with her"

"Roger, will do. I might be forgiven because the ship is not fully operational"

"Admiral, when will this ship be fully operational?"

"I don't know, in two months?"

Cathul realized that Jessica has no real architectural style preference, unlike Charzon (who preferred flattened, elongated cigars for ships) but when she does deal in the "Kuati Wedge", as is the case on the Mateus and the Procurator-X, the bridge turbolift leads directly to the aft end of the ventral hangar. That might have been a liability on Hakassi, but at least the Alliance marines forced the Trandoshans into a bottleneck there, causing them to only have two squadrons left for the bridge fight. At present the Procurator-X has 6 squadrons but because the ship is not yet fully fitted out, anything concerning its combat capability is subject to change. By now she is in the turbolift, wearing neither her beskar armor - that is reserved for when battle stations are ordered onboard - nor her Jedi robes; her uniform as an acting vice-admiral looks very much like medical scrubs with a vice-admiral rank plaque, but that's probably a function of her being an acting vice-admiral that was entrusted with a large-scale medical mission, requiring her to command all military medical assets in the Atrisia sector and Abregado-Rae, as well as all Alliance forces on Inysh. The acting nature of her rank entitles her to the authority of such only within the scope of medical activities in the Atrisia sector or Inysh, at least for the time being. When she meets wtth [member="Kami Meran"], she wonders what kind of medical problem the 5'3" Mando has to come to her.

[member="Cathul Thuku"] http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/swtor-relaxed-jumpsuit-enforcers-contraband-cartel-pack1.jpg

Kami felt naked without her Beskagam and her helmet. truth be told the helmet was a mask in more ways than one.
so here she was in a jump suit with it 's top tied around her wast and a sarashi around her chest.
she was overly shy without it. it protected her from more than just blows..honestly she had to admit she wondered if she had a mental problem.
Lyth kept alluding to it.
she almost jumped when Cathul entered.
" chees sorry.. im not good out side my armor.. " she apologized. still feeling edgy
" Did Lyth tell you the problem."
" godamit im sorry Lyth"

"I have arrived, [member="Kami Meran"]. Let's come to the sickbay to get these medical problems examined, shall we?"

With that said, Kami and Lyth, especially Lyth, were familiar to the white Twi'lek. She knew that she treated Lyth when she was reeling in from the loss of her wings, and suggested her that she got cybernetic wings to recoup that loss. This time around the smaller hypervelocity cannons are being fitted for short-range action, with a lower caliber compared to the HVCs fitted elsewhere on the ship: with ten 88mm hypervelocity cannons, the batteries will be completed. But then remain the question of the auxiliary hangars being fitted: it was a miracle the battlecruiser would still be able to hold 7 million tons of cargo, the same way the Darr Itah is rumored to, even if one fitted all of 10 squadrons of attack craft. Maybe 7 or 8 would suffice here. Meanwhile, the engineering crews were hard at work both in the auxiliary hangars and in the slated hypervelocity cannon emplacements while Cathul leads the duet inside the closest sickbay.

" Already had the tests done on Geonosis [member="Cathul Thuku"] sorry to say. it's Cancer, its in my lungs, apparently i inhaled a few particles of cortosis. " she blurted out bluntly.
" But i dont trust those idiots.. Lyth demanded i see you. there is another thing. my head.... i have a mass in there." god she felt.. affraid.

"Cancer? Your brain tumor cannot be surgically removed" she told Kami, after using the Force to scan her head for the tumor.

Usually, when brain cancers cannot be surgically removed, it's because the tumor has weird configurations or is located deep inside the patient's brain. But cancers were reminiscent of the big-ticket cases she had to deal with when she was governor of Azure. If the diagnosis was already made, and the source was a metastasis that was pulmonary in origin, that was a lengthy case of having to cure the whole deal, estimated to be at least 6-8 hours. And she warned the Force-users wishing to learn Force-healing that they should not expect near-instant healing each and every time. She knew that the warning was easier to heed by beginners in Force-healing, probably because they don't have enough power around to do that much, and hence will come up against their limitations faster. She could also tell in the Force that the last set of hypervelocity cannons are almost finished fitting. Just a few moments more and these hypervelocity cannons will be theirs to use in an actual space battle, after which point the auxiliary hangars will begin being fitted.

"Here's the plan: you will be under general anaesthesia and then I will use Force-healing so that you don't get any pain from me using Force-healing on you. The easy part will be removing the cortosis particles if that isn't already done, and then come the metastases"

[member="Kami Meran"]

Kami relaxed. the trusted other Mando's they all wore the armor and understood the helmet.
kami ..she hated doctors.. no more distrusted them but Lyth trusted [member="Cathul Thuku"] and if Lyth trusted her then Kami trusted her.
" the particals are removed. and the brain tumor as you can see in the file is not malignant it isn't cancerous. witch is a blessing." she informed being honest,
" Look. im here because you are one of about 3 doctors i trus. and im sorry about that." she was still nervouse.

"Even a non-malignant mass can still be very delicate to remove, Force or no Force. Nevertheless, since these Geonosian doctors removed the particles, a pituitary adenoma, while noncancerous, is still a tumor that I can remove for you today. Pituitary adenomas are lodged deep inside a patient's brain, and hence non-surgical methods are the only way to remove that tumor: I don't wish to cause you any more brain damage than the tumor already has. Nevertheless, the pulmonary cancer has to be removed first and then the pituitary adenoma, both of which are to be done under general anaesthesia. Even with the Force removing a tumor will be painful"

While [member="Kami Meran"] is laying on the bed for the procedure to begin, The lung cancer, however, has the potential to turn into a metastasis, hence why she talked about metastases. Metastases have to come first, and then the brain tumor. But the treatment plan remains, and she prepares for the anaesthesia part of the procedure. Meanwhile, hypervelocity cannons are being installed throughout the ship, completing the ship's weapons suite. Now that the HVCs are completely installed in five dual turrets, two on the bow, three on each broadside and two of them aft, they could finally be integrated into the main targeting system.

"Admiral, the hypervelocity cannons are installed"

"Good, now, commence work on the auxiliary hangars while I take care of this patient"

" You busy i take it?. " kami asked trying to make awkward small talk trying ti take her mind off the procdure,
" look im sorry about all this. i only trust other Mando's with my insides." she intended the comment as a complement .
but she hoped [member="Cathul Thuku"] took it that way. kami was after all pretty bad art social interaction.

"Take a deep breath, or as deep as possible with a lung cancer; the use of the Force for anaesthesia is to begin soon. You will sleep for a few hours while the tumors are removed"

Mandalorian Jedi are known to be rather reluctant to actually embrace the more knowledge-intensive areas of the Force. But what Kami doesn't suspect was that a bounty was placed on Cathul, not so much because of malpractice, but because of something that is medicine-unrelated. A breach of honor, they say. Here Cathul was about to use the Force for anaesthesia: she herself took a deep breath and she had to concentrate, and clear her mind of any consideration pertaining to the construction of the auxiliary hangars, which was to happen somewhere else on the ship. For now, all I have to do is to use Force-healing to synthesize similar stuff to Sedative H4b, as if intraveinously injected. Really, one unit per kg of patient mass should suffice: in anaesthesia, one unit grants you eight hours of sleep per kg of patient mass. Too much sedative and you can kill her. Just waita little bit for those things to kick in and then I can begin work on her to remove those tumors, using the Force, she thought.

[member="Kami Meran"]

Lyth paced out side the door.
stupid bounties. last thing she needed was a bunch of idiots that was the problem and why she was here.
she was worried about her sister and [member="Cathul Thuku"] she wanted Kami to get better.
so here she was pacing back and forth on still unsteady legs while I1-2-B3 sat on a bench.
she hated this.
" i hate this i hate not knowing how to fix things." she rambled obviosly uneasy.

While [member="Kami Meran"] was falling asleep, Cathul waited patiently for the anaesthesia to kick in. Once that was done, Kami's sister, [member="Lyth Meran"], would be outside the surgery ward. Said ward was where a surgery would take place, but due to protocol considerations, she was to do her Force-healing in a surgical ward, with an IM-6 droid to monitor the vitals of the patient while under anaesthesia. Once the patient is asleep, then she begins using Force-healing while working on the tumor to inject, through the Force, what she perceived as being appropriate chemotherapy for metastases, that is, cisplatin, etoposide, carboplatin, while first severing the blood vessels around the tumor, and sealing off both ends of the blood vessels so severed - for each metastasis; metastases were common when dealing with lung cancers caused by cortosis particles. That gotta hurt: it's for things like these that I had her under general anaesthesia, she thought.

Lyth Meran

Bullet with Butterfly wings.
Lyth hated hospitals with a passion. well they were full od sick people.
after all the doctors who tortured her worked in a hospital. so she had a decent enough excuse to hate them.
so she hoped Kami has better pull through.
still she trusted [member="Cathul Thuku"]

Clearly the more dangerous between the metastases and the pituitary adenoma were the pulmonary metastases. Deprived of their source of oxygen and nutrients, the metastases will cannibalize themselves because mitosis is, in biochemical terms, expensive, both in energy and in oxygen, she thought. It took some time for the process to actually have its effect, with the dose of the three anti-cancer medicines she use the Force to synthesize. Lyth was perhaps a little nervous but this was a medical procedure to be undertaken and that took time. A few hours later, progress has been made on the metastases, but she cannot take stimcaf before the removal of the metastases is over. Meanwhile the engineering crews got the first auxiliary hangar (well, it's a misnomer because the auxiliary hangar is right next to the main one) finished and worked on the second auxiliary hangar without any further delay, which was on the opposite end of the main hangar from the first one.

"Admiral, the first auxiliary hangar is online, we can now have a seventh squadron. Work has begun on the second auxiliary hangar"

"Good"

[member="Lyth Meran"]

Lyth Meran

Bullet with Butterfly wings.
( ooc. sorry [member="Cathul Thuku"] i totaly forgot i was using Lyth here.)

Lyth was absolutely terrified but it was more for he sister.
she frantisly paced across the clerks counter.
"' dammit..." she read the clerk's name tag. " Bodanzia? Bodanzia what's taking so long? "
she asked for what was probably the 17th time.
" the Doctor is doing everything she can trust me ." Bodanzia attempted to re assure Lyth.

"Bodanzia?"

"Your caf, admiral"

"Well-appreciated. Especially after the first phase is over"

Once the pulmonary metastases inside [member="Kami Meran"] are finally dealt with, she drinks the cup of caf the assistant, Bodanzia, brings her so that she can keep going. And cure the brain tumor. Of course she would be a little tired, and the first phase took about four hours. Wash, rinse, repeat, but with the pituitary adenoma, she thought, while she might not have that much energy left, that was clearly reminiscent of what her lifestyle as a Mandalorian governor was like, especially the later years of her tenure. Sure, the Meran sisters knew her from that era, especially [member="Lyth Meran"], who was one of the very few patients that decided to stay loyal to her when that high-profile malpractice case happened. Plus she'd expect to be exhausted once the procedure was over, but at the same time, the second auxiliary hangar being worked on would lead to having a whopping eight squadrons. That was going to be a massive ship, truly capable of making the First Order tremble, Bodanzia thought.

Kami remained under sedation in a meditative trance. akin to an anesthetized one her mind however wandered.
she forgot about [member="Cathul Thuku"] and the cancer heck she almost began to forget the Agoge this was a long forgotten relm her earlirst memories.
there was a city somewhere a mother..human and a man her father an arkanian.. was she a crossbreed? she never knew that.
she remembered a pet a Spineless headcheese she remembered not being the best of owners. more interested in things than people.
maybe Lyth was right about the autism possability.

Now was time to use pyrokinesis to cauterize the blood vessels leading to, and from, the pituitary adenoma. That was what she knew about cauterization: it would allow to sever blood vessels but almost without bleeding, using tiny amounts of pyrokinesis. Once the cauterization was complete, Cathul was able to inject the same Force-medicines as she did inside the metastases that formed the lung cancer [member="Kami Meran"] suffered from. Meanwhile, [member="Lyth Meran"] realized that the second auxiliary hangar was almost completed, if only because the surgery ward is just above said auxiliary hangar. That would mean eight squadrons, making it much more formidable for the enemy. I'll have to grant that engineering is expedient. But because it wasn't a cancer, using Force-healing in this instance is probably going to be a little faster because there is only one tumor to care about. And the work would take a while for it to happen. She had roughly three hours before Kami wakes up to finish the work.
