TRAITS
  • [Strength] Der Überdroide - Force 43 is composed of four Pertinax-Class Assassin Droids, arguably the most lethal personal combat droids designed by the Helix Syndicate. While these droids usually operate individually, Force 43 is an exception - making them a force to be reckoned with so long as all four members are in the same place.
  • [Strength] I’m Participating! - One of Force 43’s primary purposes is to serve as a long term support unit to causes the Helix Syndicate favors or has been paid to favor. Thanks to their flexible programming, Force 43 is capable of providing both tactical and logistical support to any cause they find themselves in service of.
  • [Weakness] Small Squad - Like its counterpart unit, Force 32, Force 43 is meant for special operations, not battles. Deploying Force 43 into the middle of a war zone is not an effective use of their time and makes them more likely to be overwhelmed and destroyed.
DESCRIPTION

Force 43 is the follow up to the Helix Syndicate’s first special operations squad, Force 32. Why have one special operations squad when you can have two? And why not make one of them robots so we don’t have to spend more money on salaries? Force 43 handles many of the same sorts of missions Force 32 does, but they have a preference for long term operations that require days, weeks, or even months to complete.

If the Helix Syndicate wants to influence the outcome of a conflict without deploying its own forces, they will typically dispatch Force 43. From there, one of two things will happen. The most likely is that Force 43 will openly embed itself in the side of the conflict they favor, providing support and leadership where necessary. Aside from engaging directly in combat, the units of Force 43 can also be seen training militias, managing logistics, or providing tactical advice to favored commanders.

Of course, not everyone is desperate enough that they’re willing to let assassin droids take on leadership and support roles in their organization. In this instance, Force 43 operates much as any other commando unit would: they engage in raids, assassinations, and acts of sabotage against the enemy. If permitted, Force 43 will also perform reconnaissance, providing intelligence to the side they have been assigned to assist.

Each member of Force 43 is given a role and a special designation. Since all units are all uniformly skilled, these assignments are frequently arbitrary and merely for clarity of purpose. Though the Helix Syndicate cannot generally be bothered to acquire more laminanium to produce more Pertinax units, they will do what is necessary to replace Pertinax units that are destroyed in the field. This goes for Force 43 as well: a destroyed unit’s designation will be inherited by a replacement droid.

The possible designations are as follows.
  • 4301 “King” - The designated command unit. King commands the rest of Force 43 and dictates orders that it calculates will most likely result in a successful mission.
  • 4302 “Rook” - Any objectives that require the protection or procurement of an asset are typically handled by Rook.
  • 4303 “Bishop” - Any objectives that require liaison with individuals outside of the Syndicate are typically handled by Bishop.
  • 4304 “Knight” - Any objectives that require the elimination or sabotage of an enemy asset are typically handled by Knight.
Aside from the operations it carries out on behalf of the Syndicate, Force 43 will occasionally be rented out to other organizations. As long as the payment is high and operational costs are covered, Force 43 will temporarily serve just about anyone.
