  • Flare Launcher: This device carries both a more traditional use, launching flares, but also works as a piece of propaganda. Being able to launch custom flares which detonate into the First Order cog.

  • High Powered Speaker: The speaker installed within the helm is a means of propaganda, designed to project the voice of the wearer. Both to intimidate enemies and to inspire allies. Alternatively, it can be used to broadcast a high pitched drone in order to intimidate or irritate hostiles.

  • Air Supply: The FO-VA’s life support systems sustain a single adult life for approximately eight hours within the void. Or alternatively, underwater.

  • Maglock Boots: Maglock capability installed in the boots

  • Chemical Filter: Built into the helm, the chemical filter ensures no smoke or other toxins enter the helm and poison the user.

  • Encrypted Comms Unit: The FO-VA is fitted with an encrypted comms unit, ensuring all transmissions are kept private.

  • Medical AutoInjector: Upon detecting certain irregularities regarding body temperature, and heart rate, a medical autoinjector will provide supplies of painkillers and kolto in order to keep the trooper in the fight.

  • Hormone Autoinjector: Upon a press of the button, the FO-VA can inject the user with hormones such as adrenaline and testosterone.

  • Multi-Spectrum Scanner: Infared, sonar, motion scanning and limited radar are available to be scanned.

  • Insulation: Insulation inside the armour conforms to either warm or cold temperatures. Either cooling the user, or alternatively warming them.

  • Ordnance Launcher: Mounted under the left wrist is an ordnance launcher. The launcher has a range of approximately 75 meters maximum, and when fired, deposits either smoke cannisters, flash greandes or stun grenades at high speed and in an arc.

Strengths:

  • User Resilience: The hormone and medical autoinjectors installed within the FO-VA ensure that the wearer is able to stay in the fight for longer.

  • Enhanced Combat Awareness: Hormone autoinjectors along with multi-spectrum scanner allow for extensive data to be reported back to the wearer.

  • Morale Raiser: The FO-VA is designed to lead soldiers into battle, and keep them fighting there in as higher spirits as possible. As such, the armour when seen in the field acts as a way to raise the fighting spirit of nearby troopers.

  • Mobile Blackspot: The FO-VA is installed with state of the art jamming equipment. Meaning that on approach, users can block hostile communications and sensors, thus disrupting combat synergy.
Weaknesses:

  • Visible Target: Red is a very conspicuous colour, as is speaker which projects propaganda, means that the FO-VA presents a conspicuous target in any combat situation.

  • Stealth: The pigmentation, the speaker, the flares, none of it really works within a stealth setting. A user cannot really sneak up upon hostiles.

  • Short Range Jamming: The jammers installed within the armour have a range of only two hundred meters maximum.
DESCRIPTION
The FO-VA armour project started as an FOSB invention to create a presence on the battlefield to promote ideological purity. This project was scrapped, but upon discovery of its existence in notes through an intercepted data packet, the idea stirred within the minds of the First Order military junta. The possibility of a new role for soldiers with high levels of ideological purity and combat experience to inspire both fear and bravery on the battlefield. Ergo, the First Order Vexilliarius Armour project was born. A Retribution Corps recovery team was dispatched to Ssi-Ruuk occupied Zarnathea, and managed to recover a half completed prototype. Upon the teams return, work progressed at once.

The FO-VA as a combat role is one designed to lead troops into combat, and through the use of broadcasted propaganda, lead them into battle. Those who done the armour are chosen for their ideological purity, physical toughness and esteemed amongst their fellow troopers. In order to suit this role, a speaker was fitted into the helm, allowing the wearer to bark inspiring propaganda lines. The armours pigmentation was also changed, to a deep red, in order to make its wearers stand out on the field of battle. In addition to this, communications and sensor scramblers were installed in the armour designed to jam short range comms and sensors. Testing in combat training saw troopers were more effective with the FO-VA present, providing support.

The engineers working on the project became immediately cognisant of the issues involved with creating such an armour. That its wearer is immediately vulnerable to attacks, given their presence and appearance. As such, the FO-VA was fitted with countermeasures to this to increase the durability of the wearer. These being hormonal autoinjectors, supplying the user with a steady stream of testosterone, and adrenaline. Along with a medical injector to ensure that if hit, the user can continue into battle with little issue.

Standard issue accoutrements were bestowed. These being the combat scanner, comms encryption and DNA security. Insulation, air supply and maglock boots mean that the FO-VA can be used in nearly any environment.
