Fly Me To The Moon (Mandalorian Exploration of Tra'Shebs)

Marcus looked uncertainly down at the ice that the other man had so confidently shot a cable into without much care. Was he mad? Who knew of the stability that the ice held... It simply collapse at any tug of the chord!.. Even still, Marcus could see nothing else upon the icy shelf that offered much interest. He was sure to hate himself if the venture resulted in his imminent demise by crushing blocks of ice and snow, but he took it upon himself to edge up to the crevasse and look down at the man who was now descending ever deeper into its mysterious depths. He felt a bit of the ice give way beneath his foot and with a simple step backwards a small chunk of it fell down into the wide gash in the surface.

"There better be something good down here, vod"

With a slight bit of reluctance, he took hold of the chord that had been secured and slowly began his own descent. He could no longer hear the whistling of the wind that was ever present on the surface, but it was now replaced by a nearly silent hollow whine as the surface sounds resonated down into the crevasse. Slowly, he kept on crawling down the chord, with his armor scratching against the ice now and again. It was all he could do to tell himself to keep his gaze in front of him...

Kiyron looked up at those still on the surface and on the cable above him. Ice cracked and groaned and he froze, lightly balancing his boots on the ice wall in front of him until the grinding stopped. That was close. While he knew, intellectually, about the dangers of glacial ice, it never sunk into people until they were actually there. This instability was dangerous, yes, but quite normal for glaciers. That didn't stop his heart from pounding though.

Someone called to him and he looked up. He was right. There had better be something good down here, especially if the cable broke loose. That was why they had jetpacks though and flamethrowers, if necessary. He still had no desire to get trapped under a great deal of ice. That would be unfortunate. But what was down there?

Kiyron looked back down towards what he had been seeing and adjusted his rangefinder, zooming in on the object. "Looks like a shipwreck! Old one!"

He wasn't familiar with the design, but it had some resemblance to Mandalorian ships he'd studied in tactical assessments for the Republic. "Almost there! Just proceed with caution!"

The tremors appeared to have steadied so he resumed his delicate march down the wall, adjusting his angle to get closer to the ship.

She remained there, standing near Arrbi as she looked over the results of her scans. the tech in her armor was rather well suited to environs such as this, and she was beside herself with excitement at the opportunity. At his comment, she paused for a moment. "I never thought about it like that, really. We colonized Concordia centuries ago. But paid little attention here. Though, I suppose - given the overall focus on conquest the last few ..centuries, that exploration wasn't a priority." At that, she sighed. "A pity, really. It's very beautiful here. And well... calming. It's been undisturbed for milllenia. And we are the first to set foot upon it."

it was exciting to consider, really. She frowned slightly as she looked over her scans, and kept an ear to the comm chatter. In one comer of her HUD, she was tracking the location of the other other members of the expedition, should they need rescuing. She hoped they wouldn't. His last question grabbed her attention finally. "Me'ven?" she asked softly. "Just checking the surface integrity of the ice. Found some mineral deposits, though nothing solid. I keep thinking I see trace amounts of a couple different minerals, but the amounts are so small, I'm not sure it's registering properly. Maybe I need to re calibrate."

Marcus continued to shift his weight and climb further down the face of the ice slope. It was a torturous process that held a plethora of possibilities of ways to injure himself. He could fall and simply break his back against the floor of the crevasse, the ice could give way and he could do nearly the same process, save then he would be crushed by a falling slab of ice... Indeed this challenge was very thrilling. The man below him called up about something... A ship!? Surely it was not so, for a ship to be under so much ice, it would have had to crash and been buried under centuries of frozen matter.

As he continued that descent, he was able to view his own reflection in the ice that stood as his stability. His helmet looked as he always had remembered it, though he found whenever he was able to see himself in the metallic battle suit. This physique that he held often reminded him of his father, and it was off hand thought that took him away from the icy hell-hole that he endeavoured to travel further into. Once he had snapped out of it, however, he looked down and began to see the vessel that the other man was speaking of.

The darkness shadowed it for mere seconds before his enhanced visor began to trace its outline in green light. It was certainly large, whatever it was, and he could see slight metallic glints coming off of the hull.

He began to trek the frozen landscape that eternally covered Tra'shebs. He didn't received any transmission from Ishmael about the coordinates he asked from him; however, he wouldn't put his venture on any hiatus and would continue to walk the thick ice layers until he would come across some geological feature that was peculiar or the asteroid that Ishmael alerted to those on the expedition. He could use his integrated jetpack to travel the unknown in a short matter of time, but Vilaz decided that he would only use it for extreme situations that required fast maneuvering.

As he walked the plane of Tra'shebs he had some of his focus on the scanners of his helmet waiting for something interesting to come up and notify him. During his scouting he came across a ravine of a canyon that he was on top of. Without thinking, the Redneck jumped off the cliff of the canyon and began a descent to the bottom of it. Once Vilaz came to a few meters above the ground he activated his jetpack to decelerate his fall and landed on the ground without suffering the consequences of a huge impact.

He looked around his surroundings and walked off to his right. The Field Marshal knew to get deeper beneath the surface of the moon just to discover the secrets of Tra'shebs.

"Definitely a ship," Kiyron said back in the comms as he landed gently on its surface, balancing in case it shifted. As far as he could tell, it was stable. He knelt down and tapped it gently. Hollow, by the sound of it. He picked his way across the hull, tracing the outline in an attempt to recognize it. "Looks Mandalorian, but I can't recognize its model."

He could identify any ship from the One Sith or Galactic Republic and most others for the galactic powers. This? He'd never seen anything like it before. He paused at the edge of a painted emblem which he walked around, creating a mental image of it. He didn't know that one either. It was red and almost seemed like a clawmark, with appendages extending from the top and bottom.

"Someone with more knowledge might want to come and check this out," His breathing was faster now as looked over the find. This was something he had never even dreamed of as a possibility before. He had to get inside and poke around. Now to find a hatch.
