Fly Me To The Moon, Lets Play Among The Stars [Mysa]

Voss

This.. was Nantaris's fault! A seed of an idea had been planted in Theo's mind the day Nantaris took him on a flight and told him of his adventure of his youth, that he had stolen a fighter and went for a joy ride. This idea had sat germinating in very vivid and fertile soil of Theo's mind and now it was time to make real the idea. But .. he needed an accomplice, a kindred spirit that would join him on this theft .. so when Mysa had returned to Voss, to continue her studies in the Academy, the plan had come together nicely.

She had changed, he had changed, everything had changed! Theo now a lot taller, broader, stronger, his physical development had advance due to the nature of the blood. The Valkyri physique of a peoples strong now etched on his body.

"There", he pointed from around the corner, which would take them into the hangar bay situated near the Temple. A fighter sitting idol look very lonely indeed. "We need to get over there quickly and without been seen, but don't run! you know, look .. casual". Well that made no sense at all.

So many lessons on the theory of flight, on how a ship works, on how to fly it. Hours in the Sim, but it was not enough, he wanted the real thing. Theo quickly pulled back as some ground crew passed near by. "You ready", he asked Mysa with a smile.

Mysa had never been on to get into trouble.

Infact, the only other time she had done something contradictory to her parent's wishes - both sets of parents, as the Heavenshields were still considered as such to the Umbaran - had been through good intentions. Trying to bring Théo home safely after he had run out in the early hours of the morning to explore Midvinter. That was the day she had come face to face with a Vhaanir. With the Gods she loved so much.

Lo and behold, who was it this time if not Théodred! Yet again she found herself stood at his side, or more crouched, whispers exchanged between the pair. He was ever the troublemaker, but Mysa had grown to love this side of him. He allowed for a little adventure, a little curiosity. Not that Mysa had no adventures of her own, of course.

Théo looked older than she these days, though Mysa had always been small and baby-faced, he had matured swiftly and was beginning to mimic the stature of his Father. She smiled, it was nice to see both Coci and Thurion in one face.

"Are you sure this is safe?" she muttered, as quietly as she could without the words themselves becoming lost.

He didn't exactly give her much of a chance to reply. Mysa, like Théo, had stacked up a lot of sim time since returning to Voss from her prolonged venture on Midvinter. But she had never been in the cockpit of a ship, not properly at least. Not to fly it.

He turned his head slowly and looked at Mysa as if she was taking mad, "Of course it is not safe! otherwise what is the point?". Then he realised he had spoken to loud and check that no one else had heard him as well. "Wriggles, whatever you do, do not tell uncle Thyrian we did this, he will kick my .. backside from Voss to Midvinter and back". He gave Mysa a cheeky wink.

"How did you get away from him anyway?". One thing Theo had noticed was his uncle was very over protective, and one thing Mysa may or may not notice was that Theo's voice had changed since she last saw him. He had undergone that awkward period in his life where is b .. voice dropped and now sports a rather melodious low timbre.

Theo finally spotted an opening, the ground crew were either changing shift or off to lunch, either way the hangar was suddenly all but empty. "Come on", he waved an encouraging hand and began a super cool casual stroll across the bay floor, which of course made him look super silly. Eventually, the two found a position behind several ships sitting idol but they needed one that could hold two pilots, so they would walk along the line until victory.

Mysa smiled to the mention of Thyrian. Oh he would kick both of their butts if he knew about this. Carefully Mysa took ahold of Théo's wrist and tugged him back for a second, clasping a hand over his mouth. Sure enough almost as soon as she did this a stray pilot ventured past where they were going to walk.

"Come on" she whispered, this time she was the one taking the lead; she may not have liked the idea of stealing a ship and taking it for a joy ride, but she liked the idea of being caught in the middle of the act even less. "I told him I wanted to see Voss again." Mysa hadn't been to this world in years, she had barely seen anyone from the Academy, and Thyrian was a loving Father as much as he doted upon her and wanted to keep her safe.

As the pair walked between the starships, one in particular caught her eye. It was small, but she could tell from the way it was layout that there was space for at least two of them inside. Which was perfect.

She tugged his hand again, this time onward. Excitement mounted within her. She loved space, not as much as snow but still... The Lussk gene resided within her as much as it did Kära.

It was ladies choice and Mysa had good taste. Her eyes falling on one of the ship that took her fancy. A Rekali-class fighter able to take two and fast and these ships new to the SSC. He did not require any further invitation to move forward as a smile spread over his lips. "Good choice", he whispered to her while eyes darted around looking to see if they had been spotted. Well it seemed that security was lacking in this hangar anyway, the ship was not locked down and soon Théo had the hatch open. He stood back, waiting for Mysa to enter first, old fashioned maybe but Théo possess exceptional manners where girls are concerned, even if it is his sisters.

Once Mysa was on board, he followed closely behind until they reached the cockpit. "Let me take the ship out, you bring it back", he suggested since he did not want to hog the piloting. This adventure was as much for her as him. Théo sat with eyes closed just for a moment, pulling the force around him, a lesson learned from Nantaris. He also visiualised all the lesson of ship operations from the lesson in class, all the procedures falling into place.

His brow furrowed with each click of the control panel, engines warming, recalibration of the hyperdrive, life support on. He would leave the rest to Mysa in the Co-pilot seat. "Everything ready?", he asked now satisfied they are prepared to take off. He looked up and out the view port, he could see some ground crew returning and they are talking and pointing in their direction. An unscheduled flight?, one crew checking a datapad to check and soon..

"Hey .. You there!".

And boy was the ship a beauty.

She might have whistled, only that would've drawn attention to them. Attention they couldn't afford right now.

Théo seemed pleased with, if not proud of, her choice of ships. There was no argument, no what about... he simply found his way up to the entry hatch and waited to clamber inside. Naturally Mysa followed by example and quickly made her way inside, worming her way through the interior until they reached the cockpit.

Soon enough they were both in place, side by side. Théo took the pilots seat, leaving Mysa in the gunners... Or Copilot. Yes, she preferred the sound of that. Mysa most definitely would not be using the turbolasers.

She had been on enough Sim-Runs to know how to prep a ship; leaving the main bulk up to Captain Fishbrain, Pilot Wriggles tended to the lesser tasks. It was strange knowing that the buttons she pressed and levers she switched actually had a real life purpose and impact. She hoped that they did it all correctly!

"Ready, Captain Fishbrain" she said, before bursting into laughter. She could not help herself. A Fish as a Captain? What would they think of next?

And then she saw them. "Hurry, Théo. We're gonna get caught!"

"Alright alright alright, keep your hair on!", he said while hastily trying to pull the harness over his shoulders and click it in around his chest. All the while his eyes watching the approach of not one by five ground crew waving their arms and shout expletives.

Click click! "Captain what?", he shot a look to Mysa, poking out his tongue, of course he had not forgotten her 'pet' name for him, so very endearing, not. "You better be buckled in".

Like Mysa, Théo had the training in the sims to fly .. a shuttle. And some other ships, but they had not got to the various vessels in the SSC fleet yet, which meant he did not have training in the Rekali-class. All ships handle differently, a deft touch is needed at the best of times, and it takes many hours of not only sims but practical application as well.

"Someone contact Master [member="Valiens Nantaris"]!", the last words he had heard before pushing the throttle forward. "Shhhh * t". Now, they would be both in trouble and he flash a look of apology to Mysa for his sudden but prolonged outburst.

The Rekali lifted off the floor of the hangar, Théo banked the ship toward the exit and immediately the collision alarm sounded. There are many crew and diagnostic equipment on the floor which now lay strewn on said floor knocked over or diving to get out of the way. Not only that the ship was on collision course with the wall next to the exit. Théo quickly adjusted course using the instruments to guide him, the force was no help at this point as all his concentration was on the, not killing them before even escaping. He centered the ship and immediately the alarms silenced. His heart pounded in his chest, his cheeks puffing out with each breath anything to stave away the hyperventilation. "Okay okay I got this", convincing himself.

On approach to the exit the alarm rang out again, but not before one of the wings clipped the wall, wobbling the ship before they spat out into open air. Pulling back on the throttle, the ship began to climb for open skies. "Well that wasn't so bad". Finally he was able to laugh.

Then his face dropped, "Ah we are so dead", he had a mental image of his father and mother, uncle and aunt. They did not look happy.

The commlink rung. *Click* Sent to voicemail.
“Sorry about that, dear. So, tell me about your special offer…” he said to the cute green Twi’lek in the booth with him.
“Well, sir, for this month only we have a fifty percent discount if…” she said, leaning closer.
The commlink rung. *Click* Irritably sent to voicemail.
“I’m popular today,” Nantaris grumbled, trying to turn the device off. It rung again and he jabbed it until it stopped.
“I’ll let you get that call,” the Twi’lek said a bit huffily, standing up.
“Wait, don’t go.”
The commlink rung.
“Sithspit!” Nantaris growled, finally answering it. “This had better be very, very important,” he said grimly. He’d just missed out on Lekku, and that just wasn’t fair!

[Sorry rough week!!]

She swiftly buckled in the moment that Théo reminded her to, and braced herself; she never liked taking off, the sharp jolt which usually accompanied it, no doubt it would be worse with an amateur behind the wheel!

"You heard me, Fishbrain" she said, when he seemed confused by what she had called him. Fishbrain and Wriggles, what a formidable team! Names enough to scare away the worst of pirates.

The take off was most definitely not perfect. Quite the opposite in fact. Mysa's hands clenched together, face scrunched up, as the vessel seemed to knock into everything it possibly could in its efforts to escape the hangar. Thankfully no one seemed to be hurt down below, but she couldn't say for sure.

"This... Probably wasn't the best of ideas, Théo!"

As she said that, though, the ship seemed to clear the hangar, not without first knocking its wing against the wall though.

"So much for covert, I think we just woke the entire Academy..."

"Master [member="Valiens Nantaris"], Sir. There has been an unauthorised requisition of a Rekali-class fighter. It has just exited the hangar destination unknown. Only got a glimpse of the pilots, it appears to have been that Heavenshield boy and his sister, Snow .. er .. Snowstomper". The chief of the ground crew informed him. "Awaiting your orders Sir".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Of course it is not the best idea, it is the greatest idea!", he turned to smile at Mysa. Théo let out a loud wooohooo as the ship began a steep ascent toward the clouds, this ship could really fly! He leveled off soon enough as wriggles face seemed to turn a dark shade of green, he was not sure why, maybe she is upset or about to be sick either way it was not a good look.

The controls of the ship are very touchy, any move overly powerful and the ship reacted not only immediately but with a sharp action. He glanced to Mysa before unbuckling and stood up. "Here you have a go", he said as the ship now has no pilot to control it for a few seconds. Autopilot equals boring!

"So what shall we do? lets go and see something of Voss", there was a great big world out there over Voss that had yet to be explored. Not only by Théo and Mysa but for the Sanctum as well.

((hugs the wriggles))

Nantaris sighed. Why were they bothering him? Surely there some other Jedi that could be harassed with this…there were so many of them. Besides, he had no great desire to land on Voss, with all the hayfever related problems it brought him!

“Get me a comm channel to that fighter…and prepare a gunship.”
The gunship was more sturdy and better at hovering. Having a fast ship might provoke the reckless boy to try and race him.

“Theo, this is Nantaris. What are you doing, lad? Are you wanting to get yourself killed?” he asked when he was patched through.

Out of nowhere, Mysa began to laugh.

She might have cried, she felt pure adrenaline and did not know how to handle it. Instead came the most belly-aching laugh known to wriggly fishbrains! So much so that she was barely able to breathe by the end of it. She clutched at her stomach, and exhaled slowly.

"Did we really just steal a ship?"

Wiping tears from her eyes, Mysa sat upright and stared out of the window. It was... quite the view.

All at once he opted to give her piloting rights. "You want me to fly?"

That almost warranted another laugh. Instead Mysa unbuckled and hopped into the pilot seat. A grin spread across her lips. "Captain Wriggles, at your service. First Mate Fishbrains, check for any signs of --"

All at once the sound of another's voice entered the cockpit. Mysa's eyes widened, before turning to set upon Théo's.

Oh they were so dead.

Steering the ship higher so as not to fly into any treetops, she bit her lip and focused on flying. But where? Mysa wasn't especially good, in fact it was quite the bumpy ride. Despite the knowledge that they were busted, she couldn't help but grin. This was freeing!
