Flow Walking?

Mkay, so this is a little bit of me wondering and me asking for any updates on the rule concerning this force power. So for those who don't know, Flow Walking was used by Jacen Solo and Ben Skywalker. It was a force power allowing one to almost walk between the past, yet not change it. It was taught by the Aing-Tii monks and was used by Jacen Solo to walk back to Order 66 to learn what turned Anakin Skywalker to the Sith.

There was also a way of seeing the future, but again not changing it. Jacen used this power when his ship crashed, and he left a force print for Leia to follow upon her arrival. Ben used the force power once but decided that returning was too overwhelming and chose to never flow walk again.

You can also Flow Walk with others, but it adds more of a risk as every single person needs to leave an anchor otherwise that person ends up lost in the flow, and there's a high chance you might join them in there. Yep, that would be bad.

Of course, there are a few downsides to this. You can only learn it from practitioners, so the dead Jacen Solo, the dead Ben Skywalker or the Aing-Tii. The worst downside is that you needed to remain anchored and connected to reality otherwise you risk loosing yourself in the flow. Oh, and you leave a really cool blur in the real world when you do this.

So all in all, is it against the rules to allow Jardo to find a holocron made by Jacen Solo back when he was still good to learn the location of the Aing-Tii mongs and learn how to Flow Walk via the use of NPC's and a lot, a lot of RP's or is there a rule that stops me doing that?

Oh yeah, and a link to the wookiepedia page: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Flow-walking

It's not like it'd be horribly difficult to do a few threads concerning this with some Aang-Tii monks. We just don't really have any of em on the board, afaik.

Yeah, I don't mind the RP, I can make a few NPC's. What I think would trigger warnings is just what this force power can achieve so yeah. You can't alter anything but you can use it to get out of situations or just to see what would happen in an RP next, which would probably take a few PM's.

It might be similar to Force Sight. You can use in threads that aren't pvp based. It also could be considered godmoding or metagaming too. Most SW sites usually frown down on abilities that can grant glimpses of the future. I'm just speculating here though.

Not yet...

Its not against the rules to go presue a specific ability, no force power is banned on SWRP. All powers are used with common sense pretty much. You could make a NPC or Holocron, though for holocron that would take a HUGE dev thread in my opinion. Either way its gonna take alot of work but the pay off is their if you stick with it. Like I said, a holocron telling me where these Aing-Tii are then NPC's to teach me the power. I'm gonna let an admin or judge get back just to triple check what all of you said so yeah.

Aing-Tii what what
Also, the Rift doesn't scare me.

Still, it'd make a fun adventure to attempt to get the notice of the Aing-Tii are super protective of their ability, and short of a few adventurers, they're going to stick close to their world. And I think they're really picky. A great development solo/partner opportunity.

The Aing-Tii have a store room of ancient relics that they cant acess because... Idk i think its a religion thing. But I know Luke once accessed them and learned from the relics.

I'd be more than willing to set up an RP meeting and we can go do it together. I could do with a partner who understands the Aing-Tii and when it comes down to it as payment we become the only two with a really cool force power.

Sith ally or...?

And hte more I think about it, Coren has contacted the Ang-Tii in the past and gets... the same level of protective. I'd love to give you an NPC to bounce off, some sort of 'pilot and gun for hire'
