Private Flight Night

She was finally back on the familiar streets of Denon. A world that never slept and had been her home for quite a few years. Gazing up at the sky and letting the rain hit her face, she didn't have any problem with it today. No, today, she was happy to be walking the city and finding her own peace there. Drawing in a deep breath, she heard the sweet hum of an exquisite ship.

Watching as it came in for a landing, she waited a few moments and moved before she could lose track of it. She headed in the direction of the port where it was landing and tried to approach it openly. Her days of attempting to hotwire ships were in her past, and she didn't want the pilot or owner to think she was trying to rob them.

Whistling and pacing at the entrance to the pad, she kept glancing at it and wondering when the person was going to exit.

Jai leaned back as Valan brought the Cloud Breaker in. The fast attack corvette was clearly modified over the years, but she still had many of her lines, and her pair of dual heavy turbolasers that sat silent for the time being. Most everyone else was asleep right now, save for EW-031 EW-031 .

"The city looks really active! Why exactly are we coming here though?" Jai rubbed his temples a little.

"Just need to get some supplies EW. Maybe find some work. If Ki'tala asks I'm out getting supplies." Valan looked back at the man.

"Taking the good armor this time, or is 'Jay' making the deals." Jai just eyed the pilot before grabbing the scarf that finished off his bounty hunting armor, pulling the scarf over his face as he holstered one of his revolvers and turned to leave the corvette. "Guess that answers that. Jay Galore's still a stupid name!"

"I didn't ask." Jai said as he walked down the ramp, he checked to be sure no one was trying anything fishy, or had another bounty hunter on his tail, before spotting a surprising sight. Someone not trying to hide. Just... walking in front of the pad? Well.... Supplies could wait, cause this seemed interesting. He walked up to the woman, nodding.

"Can't say I'm use to mysterious women just hanging around a landing pad." He said, trying his best... yes his best, to make light of things. For all he knew she was looking for a bounty hunter, or maybe wanted some work herself. "So, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

Aren D'Shade Aren D'Shade

When the pilot exited his ship, Aren stopped her pacing and watched him approach. Her eyes looked at him from head to toe and up again. He was just as attractive as his ship. Just her luck. With her heart beating approximately 1000 times a second, she was speechless for a moment or two. Not unsurprising, as she usually dealt with droids and not organics.

Mentally shaking her head, she finally got his question through to her mind, and she held out her hand to shake.

"Your ship is excellent, and I was admiring it. You're not bad yourself. Aren D'Shade."

The words were out of her mouth before she could stop them, and then she probably turned a bright shade of crimson. Letting out an embrassed sigh, she waited for his introdcution and kicked her butt mentally.

Jai could help the surprised look on his face when he heard the woman, Aren, give a surprise flirt, and promptly also joined her in going red, though his blush might've been hidden somewhat by the scarf. Well she did admire the Cloud Breaker too, but.... Well he was use to Ila's mocking, but not something like this. He had to admit that she wasn't too bad looking herself either.

"Well.... Uh.... You're not too bad either...." Nope! Bad! Bad Jai! Why did he.... Well he could just change the subject. "Yeah. That's the Cloud Breaker. Old Enigma-class FAC that we've modded over the years. Still has the heavy turbolasers though, so when we're hauling cargo most pirates just avoid us. Got some tricks up her sleeve though." He said, hoping that the shift in the other topic at hand would make this less awkward.

With his honest reaction, Aren couldn't help but laugh a little. There was embarrassment from her, but also from him, and there was a bit of humor to the exchange. He changed the topic back to his ship, and she was fine with that for now. It was the reason she had stalked it and waited so patiently outside the hangar for him to exit.

"You never told me your name. I can see why pirates would avoid tangling themselves with your ship. What tricks does it have?"

Trying to stay on the topic of the ship, she couldn't help but admire his muscular arms, and she kept glancing at them. Keeping her thoughts to herself, her eyes didn't lie.

“Oh! My name! It’s Jai….” Crap! “Jay. Jay Galore.” He said, stumbling over his words a little as he corrected himself. He quickly decided to go back to the ship, with Aren asking about the tricks. He pointed out some of the old “Outer Rim Engineering” on the underside.

“Well. Got one of those old ‘Doom glitter’ launchers. Her maneuvering systems were updated, shields upgraded. Plus the old C1 still…. Well she’s not all there but still good to have.” He said, trying to look casual, thought he was admitted giving the occasional glance her way, noticing a look or two maybe.

Meanwhile, aboard the Cloud Breaker, EW peeked out to seeing from the bridge windows.

“Uh…. Valan? Who’s that? It looks like Jai is… taking to someone not on the crew.” The pilot just leaned forward, then realized what he was looking at.

“Well this is interesting.”

"Don't worry, I'm not somebody who will turn you in for smuggling, Mister Jay Galore."

The Maker knew exactly what kind of issues she would face if anyone turned her in. Over the years, she had committed numerous crimes. Luckily, most of it was all digital, and she made it very difficult to trace back to her. Online, she was more of a shadow than a person, and Aren liked it that way.

When it came to discussing the ship and its components, she was a bit lost, but she enjoyed listening to his voice. Get her talking about technology, and she would likely be similar to him.

"What brings you and your beautiful ship to Denon?"

Jai'galaar Gred Jai'galaar Gred

Jay took a breath. Ok. Seemed like someone who knew a bit about the underground kind of work he’d often been involved in. “Observant one, ain’t ya?” He asked, his tone a bit more humorous than anything else. Especially given his old ties. Still, she did ask what he was there for.

“Since it seems like we run in some similar circles. Supplies, work, maybe even a bounty or two.” He said. On the ship though, the pilot and droid were still curiously looking on, wondering where this would go.

Aren D'Shade Aren D'Shade

"Observation doesn't have anything to do with it. Intelligence is more what I have. It doesn't take much to put it together. If you need any record wiped...I can help with that."

Smiling at him, it was friendly and flirty at the same time. She was also totally unaware of the observers inside the ship.

"What kind of work? Besides smuggling."

Whispering the last word, even if they were far away from anybody else, she kept that quiet. Leaning in a little so that he could hear it.

Jai'galaar Gred Jai'galaar Gred

Jai couldn’t help but smirk a bit. “Record wipes? I’ll have to keep that in mind.” He said, noticing the smile. He couldn’t help but smile a bit more too. It was… kinda nice. Not that he didn’t love the crew, but this wasn’t someone who just knew him already.
When Aren asked what kind of work he did outside smuggling, Jai chuckled a little, catching the whisper. “Well, some bounty hunting,” he started while tapping the pistol he had holstered. “Protection detail, convoy escort, a little hunt sabotage depending on the hunter. Most anything that isn’t selling people.”

Aren D'Shade Aren D'Shade

She was close enough to him to link her arm through his unless he stopped her or pulled away. Nodding her head at his sort of question, she didn't answer him again. There wasn't a need.

"I'm starting to hang out with some bounty hunters. Maybe you can teach me a thing or two. And how to avoid a bounty hunter."

While she didn't think she had raised any flags, she was usually toeing the line, and a price could be put on her head.

Jai'galaar Gred Jai'galaar Gred

Jay was surprised at the arm link, but didn’t stop Aren as she asked about some tips on dealing with and avoiding bounty hunters. He quickly tried to focus back on the question, thinking to his times running hunt saboteur jobs.
“Well, keep a low profile, or have the firepower to not make anyone question. Helps to have some friends that’ll keep some of the heat off you.” He said, knowing all too well how much this helped. Friends tended to keep people from getting you killed in more ways than one.
“Plus having a reputation can… discourage come more cautious hunters.”
Aren D'Shade Aren D'Shade

"I do my best to keep a low profile, and if I raise any questions, I can wipe any record without much issue."

Of course, she would need to know who had gathered the information to erase it. Sometimes a simple search was all that was required. At other times, she needed to dig deeper and tackle tougher areas. So far, nothing had held her for long, and she remained a shadow.

"I'm not a fighter, Jay."

Letting out a sigh, she could run easily enough and did that when things got hot. So far, she had a safe home to go to and lay low. Her friends were also limited, but perhaps she might start to consider him one.
