I think that's probably the only thing that remains obscure - when production should be lowered, and (generally) how much.

That could be the issue that I'm having then.

But that being said, I've never converted a spreed sheet like this before to a webpage; so that might not be the issue that I'm having.

I'm going to hanging out with a more tech savvy friend on the weekend, so hopefully together we'll be able to get a better crack at it.

The logic goes like this:

LM = Find maximum length of Class
Normalize ratings to length of ship:
(This is so a big hangar is more expensive for a small ship, and high speed is more expensive for a large ship. Armament ratings are scaled to class (tiny frigate with armament 20 costs more than massive frigate with same)


Armament rating = Armament * (1+ (LM/Length)) / 2)
Speed rating = =16-2*(Speed-1.2*Length^0.33)
Man (as above)
Hangar rating = #Squadrons * (3000/Length)

Total = speed + arm + man + 0.9*hangar

Thresholds:

0+ Seems a little underpowered
45 Looks sensible
58 Might need some development
62 Will needs lots of development
66 Pushing the boundaries, towards Flagship
72 Don't be silly
80 Now you're taking the piss


Modifiers:

Minor -2
Limited -4
Semi-unique -6
Unique -8
Battlecruiser -1
