SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Flight suit has integrated capabilities to interface with most fighters, bombers, and other craft to be able to allow for holographic display of instruments directly to the pilot. This includes speed, altitude, vector, radar, along with many, many more. This allows for the pilot to be able to see their instruments at all times while still being focused on the situation at hand, improving their situational awareness. In the secondary version of the helmet this allows for the pilot to "see" through various sensors in lieu of using the pilot's actual vision in the cockpit. This makes it possible to actually have a pilot in a completely enclosed capsule with no structural weak points making a more survivable craft.
  • Flight Suit doubles as a good Thin Suit or Environmental Suit due to its extreme construction to weather the extremes of space, along with hostile weather patterns. This makes the flight suit good on most if not all hostile planets or even in the vacuum of space in extreme conditions. The inclusion of Thinsuit technologies also makes it compatible with most standard armor systems, making it possible to wear as part of a combat rescue crew's uniform.
  • Incorporates modular electronics, air, and attachment systems making the suit extremely customizable. This allows for the run of the mill standard upgrades, inclusion of more limited production components, or modifications for those looking to make their own customizations of the suit to fit their needs and desires. While the suit is compatible with these upgrades, they do not come standard, meaning that all rules, regulations, and any other restrictions apply to each individual modification or tech that is incorporated into the suit.

STRENGTHS
  • Robust Construction: This suit is built with the Freebirds Industries standard level of construction reliability, durability, and otherwise adaptability to make it able to apply itself to a variety of situations and adapt well. This includes the ability to survive in a variety of hostile environments even should the suit lose power and electronics. To put it simply, unlike other companies out there who focus on a long list of features, gizmos, and gimmicks that look nice on paper, Freebirds Industries wants to give its customers a product that will stand the test of time, and will work without fail. Every time, or your money back.
  • Modularity and Upgradable: This suit incorporates the basic compatibility to have it upgraded with a variety of techs that while are not Mass Produced, are certainly useful and possibly sought after by clientele who might wish to purchase them. And while not incorporated directly into the suit, Freebirds Industries saw that instead of having to design an entirely new flight suit or environmental suit, why not just make it upgradable? This allows for a single suit to be able to be produced, reducing the clutter of the market with a variety of different flight suits, enviro-suits, and all sorts of thin suits by making one suit that acts as a baseline, with the ability to be upgraded, modified, customized, and otherwise changed. These upgrades however still follow the rules, restrictions, and other guidelines regarding their use and distribution as the base flight suit does not come with them, and must be modified with said upgrades.

WEAKNESSES
  • Little to no active threat protection: Just like it sounds, this suit isn't meant to be armor against blasters, bullets, lightsabers, or blades. Meaning if someone is shooting at you or swinging one of those crazy laser sticks at you, your best bet is to run or dodge rather than rely on the suit. Because I don't need to tell you what happens when a hole gets punched in an enviro-suit either in a hostile climate or worse the vacuum of space. Plenty of books and holovids explain that. TLDR, don't actually get shot in this.
  • Them dastardly space wizards: The suit doesn't protect against the force either, which while it could be a boon for most Force Users, can also be a huge detriment to a non-Force User in the heat of combat. Because all of the tricks that most space wizards use can definitely either hurt you, get you killed, or damage the suit. So be careful, and try to keep your wits about you.

DESCRIPTION
One of the worst kept secrets of the Surric Local Defense Force's flight program, the FIS-1 one started life as a necessity of Surric's reconstruction. Many of the zones that pilots, rescuers, and other workers and recovery specialists were going into were veritable nightmares of environmental hazards alongside requiring technologies that either were in short supply or just didn't exist. And while the C-1 (U) was a great workhorse of the ground based units, rescuers, and other ground pounders during reconstruction, it was too bulky, restrictive and otherwise incompatible with small craft to work for the SLDF's fighter and gunship jockeys assisting with recovery ops.
Thus, the FIS-1 was borne not of a want for an export to generate income, but rather necessity to fill a need.
The suit was made to specifically to address the various needs of pilots that differed from their ground pounder counterparts. It was lighter, more flexible, and much less bulky allowing for it to be used with ease inside and out of a cockpit. And the environmental protections were not spared either meaning if a pilot had to disembark inside a "hot zone" they could do so safely. And being an instant hit with most pilots due to its rugged construction and ability to be upgraded or otherwise modified made it an attractive option for mass adoption by the SLDF. So when the time came to start looking at options for standardized flight suits within the SLDF pilot corps for resuming combat and training operations, the FIS-1 was a no brainer choice.
This would however spark interest from outside groups as the SLDF began its many joint training operations with other SDFs, PDFs, and even the larger CAF as pilots with either more standard, or even non-standard flight suits would see the merit in the suit's simplistic, rugged and modular design. This would spark several messages back to Freebirds Industries, who after several requests for small scale exportation decided that they should probably get the horse in front of the cart and increased production of the flight suit. This would allow for the mass production and exportation of the suit, sans any technologies that were restricted to SLDF use or otherwise were restricted, allowing for a mass proliferation of the design across the stars.
So if you're in the market for a fighter jockey suit, and want a product that not only serves as a great baseline, but is able to be tailored to your specific needs and wants, look no further than the FIS-1. You'll be hard pressed to find a better suit out there as rugged, reliable, and as modular, or your money back. Guaranteed.
