It is purely professional and emphasizes on quality, training and education of its personnel. They are making use of a diverse roster of warships with capital ships being the backbone of their fleet in being approach but with lots of operational task forces enjoying certain freedom in their duties to allow for a maximum efficiency. Their officer corps is very well trained and educated, the enlisted excellently drilled.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: The Citadel, Serenno
  • Ports of Call: D'Astan Sector, Kalamith Sector, Hydian Way (in the area, northern part)
  • Goals:
    • Strategic Doctrine: The Imperial Fleet is based on a balanced view on the ideas of Fleet in Being, Strike Forces and mission-specific Task Forces. It is meant to secure First Order space against any forms of incursions, be they invaders, pirates or smugglers, anything that acts against the laws and values the First Order stands for. Furthermore it aims to install a regime of quality over quantity through best possible engineering and excellent officer training.
  • Reputation: The Imperial Fleet is known for its quality officer corps and practical ship designs. Their pursuit of a task and mission oriented doctrine gives them a high success rate without the obvious dominant capital ship reputation. Pirates are known to attempt to avoid meeting the fleet due to its relatively fast heavy-hitters which are patrolling and can appear too fast for their liking. Other navies are aware of its growing reputation and will treat it with care.

    • Operational Doctrine: The Imperial Fleet does not rely on massive, rigid units of units which are sitting in docks and waiting to be deployed against a worthy enemy or cruise the controlled territories to deliver a show of force. The operational doctrine is task oriented and will deploy fast units when speed is needed, will deploy battleships when firepower is needed. Therefore the Squadrons and Lines are highly modular and will be composed variably based on what the mission is.
    • Tactical Doctrine: Strictly hierarchical and merit based, the most senior officer in the theater has the command and can of course do as they please with their units. The ultimate goal is victory for every engagement, tactics and reason are the first line of contact but the Imperial Fleet will not hesitate to move beyond to achieve victory. Tactical victory is always of lesser importance than Operational, Operational lesser than Strategic. During missions, the individual units are usually given are large degree of freedom of how to execute a task.
    • Ship Line-Up: The First Order Imperial Fleet does not use any type or tonnage exclusively. They will put heavy battlecruisers into action just as they will use nimble frigates and wings of starfighters. They are based on versatility and task-oriented units and aim to have a broad choice of weapons and warships.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Imperial Fleet has its roots in the Sector Fleet of the D'Arstan Sector which was stationed on Serenno of late Empire. With the years fading into an outer territory, the Sector Fleet slowly decayed and was even partly broken up and re-deployed to aid the falling Empire to preserve what it had left of its lost glory.

Though through engaging multiple neutral shipyards in the decade prior to the formation of the First Order, the Duke of Vemec would make sure to have a core of own ships available, produced by the standards he wanted to see in the navy to come. Furthermore through treaties, negotiations he convinced leftover and forgotten imperials to join his cause.

Over the years the more or less secret fleet grew in size and competency and quickly was installed as the Serennian Home Fleet, taking care of the protection of hyperlanes, hunting pirates, Sith remnants and patrolling the systems to ensure security.

Upon declaration of the First Order installment, it would see an incursion of a nearby imperial warlord with her own fleet attacking and bringing down the new regime, but it was defeated in the Battle of Kirtania where the now First Order Imperial Fleet showed the quality of its commanders, outmaneuvering the enemy.

Now the Fleet is in a process of growth and improvement, commissioning new ships, further formalizing the Fleet Academy Programs and of course, maintaining it duties to protect First Order space.
