First burgers, then free slaves. Nah, flip it.

Kate propped her feet up on the dash and lazily wound strands of her hair around a finger. Hm. So soft. The new conditioner was obviously working, but she was thinking about changing the color, maybe put some highlights in. TBD.

"My crew, but I'm guessing you want some more details." She glanced sidelong at Kins, lips twitching into an all-knowing smirk. "I've got some friends in the Chiss military. They don't approve of the practice of slavery, which is a pro in my book. Recently they've been having trouble with Vagaari slavers along the Chasdemonus route into Colonial Station."

The pirate captain twirled her finger, unwinding the locks of hair.

"But Vagaari slavers are really tough to put down, because they stick people in bubbles all over the hull. People shields. So, you know, if you try to engage them in battle you'll probably end up wiping out a bunch of innocents. Fortunately, there's a certain pirate crew that has a knack for non-lethal engagements."

The smirk grew. "I wonder who th-"

Plant boy trundled back in before she could finish and Kate turned to him, a brow arched in curiosity. "What... oh."

She picked up the soft yellow flower, ice blue eyes examining the gift with wonder. Part of her heart melted. You know, the part that wasn't frozen.

"Thanks, sprout," whites flashed in a genuine smile.

Great. Pirates. Had she already known that about Katya? Maybe not. And pirates who were friends with Chiss military? That sounded as believable as a talking mynock.

But whatevs.

"Awweeee. Thanks Lorny," Uncharacteristically brooding thoughts were interrupted. She took the flower and put it on the dash, next to the bobble-head x-wing fighter. Her trophy shelf. What? It made finding which ship was hers in the lot much easier. Duhey.

Fingers moved on the controls before the warning sounded that they were exiting hyperspace. She was good like that. "Okay Kat. Let's get this meet and greet started. And I swear if you or anyone on your crew steals anything on my ship I'll rig your stuff so it smells like sewage every time you jump to hyperspace."

The odd thing was, she really trusted Katya. Maybe that wasn't so odd. But pirates? The stereotypes were a real buzz kill.

There was a slight jolt as the ship popped back into real space. Long star lines became twinkling beacons again. Acne on the pristine void of black.

The sapling gave both women a big smile and his eyes twinkled in delight with their pleasure in his gift. Turning around, Lorn plugged himself back into the makeshift pot. His roots once again dug into the moist soil and water once again flowed through him. The refreshing feeling was enough for Lorn to want to move, even while planted, and his trunk started to wiggle and gyrate excitedly. He decided that a pot was a new necessity for space travel. The Neti would be in the market for a series of sizes fitting his needs.

Or maybe it was the company that had him feeling energized. Either way, he was glad for the change of pace.

Looking out and seeing the streaks of far away light turn back into dots of far away light, he cocked his head to the side. He still had no idea where they were going or what they were doing. Lorn only hoped he could tag along. His curious and ecstatic personality once again showered his two new friends with a series of questions.

"So where are we going? Why should I shrink down again? Are there more friends where we're going? Oh! Can these new friends use Force too? That'd be cool."

Lorn's big, dark eyes naïvely scanned back and forth at the faces of Kat and Starchaser, his grin just as broad as ever.

Kate glanced down at plant boy, one eyebrow quirked. "No, they don't. And you'd better hope the guys we're hunting don't either."

That'd be just my luck. Force using slavers.

The Vagaari would be a rough catch. Minimizing casualties was the priority. In fact, it was the whole reason why she'd been hired. Her crew had a near spotless record, as far as unintended casualties went. And they had a code too, dammit. None of this willy-nilly slaughtering that gave decent pirates like hers bad names.

Shorn pointed at the two ant-like shapes in the distance. "There. The Pariah and the Twilight."

A pocket carrier and a frigate. "You can land in the Pariah. We couldn't afford gunships, so there's some free hangar space for berthing. And if they do steal anything, just tell me. I'll dump 'em out an airlock." She joked, though the hard-edged icy stare said she might just do it too.

"Yeah, Lorny. And pick a size that's best for sneaking. Although, how fast and how big can you get? If we board the slavers, we might need that." Thank the stars her cousin wasn't here. He'd see an inappropriate joke in there somewhere.

Kins piloted her ship into a nice little spot even though blue-eyes darted around, clearly distracted. Landing sequence complete. Checks done. Famous Kinsey smile prepped.

"Alright Kat. I'm ready as I'll ever be to meet your crew. Bibs, stay with the ship." The BB8 unit beeped and bobbled on its domed base. "What did I say about being rude. Just chill."

Giving the droid an affectionate pat, the teen unbuckled and headed down the opening ramp.
