First Blood

There wasn't anybody keeping an eye on the young woman as she tried to escape her prison. Red came buzzing by and knocked against the box. This drew her attention back to what was sort of going on around her. The sounds of battle reached her ears and she looked down.

She saw several lightsabers present and blasters galore. Being as far up as she was, she couldn't make out the owners of the sabers, but could only guess. The third person was a mystery though.

Lan-Dai and Rann...Standing up, the box vibrated slightly at her motion. Banging against the walls, she did not expect it to do any good.

Then another person entered the fray and was helping Lan. Watching as an arrow was placed into a bow, she called out to Lan in a fruitless attempt to be heard. Everything going on below, she did not expect her voice to be heard.

"Move, Lan-Dai!"

Once again, she tried to reach the Force and failed. Letting out a growl, she could only watch as the fight progressed below her.

Mig continued to fight off the thug, but they were surprisingly resilient. He had finally had enough too. Mig looked at them all, closing his eyes and focusing. The thugs looked confused at first when the Mando stopped fighting, but soon went to charge him. Mig then opened his eyes under his helmet though, and sent out the wave of a neutral Force Burst into the group. He looked at all of them, glaring a little.

"Really should've picked your battles better." He then looked to where the other battle was, and noticed the person trapped again. He looked around to where the trapped person was. Maybe it was time to help a little more. At least until a shot hit his helmet. He just turned, looking at the thug who shot. He just swapped his Trayc'kad to blaster mode, sending out a shot at him. "Di'kut (Idiot)."

There were many emotions running high as the Shistavanen Master dueled against this boy, the descendant of his primary malefactor and jailer. Part of him was enjoying the duel, but the majority of him was too angry at seeing a younger, nearly identical visage of Deo-Law before him. Why couldn't he just die? This was Volgang's primary concern as his apparently superior skill was thus far inefficient against someone who in his eyes was clearly beneath him in every way. Pulling back from his onslaught, Volgang took some distance from the boy as he tried to reason what had transpired up to that moment.

Taking careful note of Lan-Dai's methods, it became apparent that he was not dealing with someone who was far more resourceful than expected. Looking to test his resolve further, Volgang once more attempted to break his spirit.

"What's to know??? You are merely a would-be Jedi, a pitiful boy who doesn't even come close to living up to the legacy of whom I considered in a more elegant era to be a worthy adversary...... You aren't even worthy of polishing his boots!!!!!" Volgang said with a snarl.

"Or mine for that matter..............."

Volgang finished the statement as he caught wind of an otherwise archaic projectile aimed right at him at the moment it was fired. Looking directly at it, Volgang arrogantly resolved to stop it in midair several yards away using a simple Force push to hold it in place. A sly and mocking expression was almost shot towards the shooter of the arrow, an expression that never made it to his face as the arrow somehow exploded where it hovered. Having very little time, Volgang briefly forgot about his victim and directed all of his power into shielding himself as best as he could from the explosion and its radius. The kinetic energy from the blast still sent him a considerable distance backwards, however, this was preferable as Volgang's current focus was to keep every single aspect of that explosion from causing any serious or permanent damage.

Given what had thus far transpired on Dorsis, and what events he had caused, Volgang could not afford under any circumstances to be seriously injured, thus incapacitated and caught. However, given the Shistavanen's current mindset and obsession, such details completely eluded him as he fell to the ground, having been knocked back several yards by the arrow's aftermath.

Taking his time in rising to his feet, Volgang's attention turned to once again pursue his target, wherever he was.

Up to this point, Lan-Dai was thus far able to take the duel in stride. Blocking, defending, and attacking when each was appropriate, simply waiting for an opening that would come eventually given Volgang's deranged state and growing frustration. One of the worst mistakes that Volgang made thus far was to not conceal his emotions, which were read by Lan-Dai easily without having to resort to the Force.

Suddenly Volgang paused and receded, placing distance between them as the Emerallian ignored the next barrage of insults and attempts to demoralize him. Straightening up and looking to analyze his enemy's next play, Lan-Dai briefly caught sight of someone else who arrived on the scene. This newcomer drew an arrow and pointed it in their general direction, yet a closer inspection via peripheral vision on Lan-Dai's part indicated that he wasn't the target, but rather the adversary that now stood before him. Assessing the new arrival from the corner of his eye, while keeping his focus on Volgang so as not to alert him in the slightest, Lan-Dai simply slid one of his legs slightly backwards as he began to arch and shift the weight of his body towards his back leg.

Suddenly both the arrow was fired and Volgang's attention was drawn toward it as it made a B-line right for him amid the chaos. Taking advantage, Lan-Dai somersaulted backwards at ground level as Volgang held the arrow in midair before it exploded seconds after its trajectory was halted. Completely unexpected, Lan-Dai had next to no time to jump and somersault upwards as he resolved to take advantage of the explosion and the distraction it would provide to start making his way towards Aren as she was held above them.

Running and jumping as he made his way up, Lan-Dai hoped to get to Aren in time and get her out of danger's way if he was to continue the duel.

The man had thought himself successful as the arrow halted, before his misjudged decision showed it was futile. The explosion separated the duo, sending them to opposing points. His eyes darted to the kid, and his goal. A brief surge of strength washed through Matreya, rocketing the youth the rest of the way to his target.

From his vantage, Matreya nocked another arrow, loosing it in the direction of the elder of the two fighters. Before the arrow had traveled more than a meter, another was following suit. The first sought to stake the chest, while the second sought to plant itself in the neck. While a chest is a large area, a neck is clearly not. Though Matreya not only didn't appear to doubt his shot, his eyes only grew more focused.

While one person might focus on the talents of an age old council, learning a hundred skills to a decent degree, and another might focus on a dozen, reaching to near mastery, he was an Apex predator of dual skills alone. Jensaarai stealth, much unnecessary in this zone. And telekinetic barrages. His ability within the use of telekinesis and ballistakinesis, are second to none.

So he concentrated on both arrows. Both moved swift enough to audibly slice air. But now he reached out to establish a connection between he and they, speeding them up until they made a bang, breaking the sound barrier. They now traveled like bullets, and were held within his grasp.

In the time it would take to reach the other man, there would be almost no time to struggle to turn them from their course. With bk and tk, they had become guided missiles.

A few split seconds had passed since rising to his feet after being knocked down by an explosive arrow before Volgang instantly sensed another assault through the Force, and caught wind of it through the corner of his eye. Furthermore, instinct told him that using the Force to either deviate its course or halt the projectile in midair would be pointless and detrimental. To this development, Volgang resolved to merely evade the projectiles as they sped towards him at a rate beyond natural law, given the means by which they were fired.

The best way to go was upwards, looking upwards and bracing himself, Volgang used his cybernetic leg and its hydraulic upgrades to launch himself up away from the arrows, barely missing being hit. Just as quickly, Volgang noticed Lan-Dai, who was making his way up towards his hostage at a near geometric rate. "Obviously......." was all Volgang muttered as he worked to catch up to his adversary, it would've been more than logical that the boy would make a break for the girl as he also began to sense that she was currently his first priority..... even more important than dealing with him.

The boy had just reached the same level as the girl, and was now going to approach her confinements in order to attempt to release her. "Not yet....." Volgang snickered as he used the Force to hold him in midair as he leapt from the corner of a protruding structure of the building in order to make one long final jump to reach him. Landing sideways on his prisoner's cell, Volgang roared in delight as he leapt towards Lan-Dai as he once again extended his prosthetic leg towards his currently helpless enemy and used the same hydraulic impulse to deliver a frontal kick that sent him flying backwards into one of the building's many floors, this one in particular being under construction.

Using a gentle Force push, Volgang propelled himself towards the floor where Lan-Dai was sent, reaching the edge of the floor as a crash and several objects were heard falling further into the dimly lit area. Walking slowly towards the sound of more objects and material falling, Volgang once more ignited his lightsaber to give himself more light and also to be ready to continue where they left off before they were....... rudely interrupted.

Reaching Aren and getting her out of here was the only thing on his mind right now, she was more important to Lan-Dai than dealing with Volgang. Lan-Dai had only made his second jump as he attempted to reach her cell when suddenly he felt a surge of kinetic energy around him that was instantly propelling him upwards at incredible speed and precision. Sensing around him, Lan-Dai realized that the same man who had fired the arrow and then two more as they exploded below him was now the same one that was boosting him up towards Aren.

Now it made sense, whoever this is was firing at Volgang and not at him. More than that, this man now also was helping him to reach Aren, and all without any due introductions and intentions revealed. This was more than enough for the Emerallian to consider this mysterious warrior an ally, if only for the time being.

Only a few yards away from Aren's cell, Lan-Dai suddenly found himself stifled where he was suspended. Struggling to reach the rest of the way that remained, yet to no avail, Lan-Dai suddenly sensed Volgang aproaching. Then it was that he saw him as he reached the cell as he landed on it and used it to propel himself towards Lan-Dai. Struggling even more to break free, Lan-Dai could only watch helplessly as Volgang positioned himself to to deliver a frontal kick. However, was he didn't expect was that Volgang would use his prosthetic leg and its apparently powerful mechanism to land a critically devastating kick to his torso that sent him flying back into the building and the construction equipment that lay placed on the floor he was sent towards.

Smashing through material before stopping coldly by a beam placed behind him, Lan-Dai found himself slightly buried by material falling on top of him. Now that his trajectory halted, it was then that Lan-Dai allowed himself to feel the impact from the kick. While the torso armor he wore under his robes absorbed the majority of the kinetic impact despite not being forged or designed to handle such a magnitude of blunt force trauma, Lan-Dai still needed to catch his breath if only for a while as that attack and its aftermath put him in an unfavorable situation. Crawling backwards as he attempted to escape from the material that slightly held him in place as he looked to find somewhere he could begin to recover as best he could before engagin Volgang once more.

The floor they found themselves on was almost crowded with construction material and had next to no lighting, something that worked to Lan-Dai's advantage as the next stage of the duel would be underway.

Matreya leaped high and landed midst a trees many branches. Drawing his hood to place, he crouched low and sent out his mental presence. His Force Shadow sought the inside of the crumbling building. The man has simply shrugged Val off, but it didn't mean Val was gone.

Rather now Matreya could have more chances. Already he could be perceived as gone. With his Shadow Coat on, his origins were nigh undetectable. Shoot arrows, hide them in the Force then release the hold. No one could know where he was.

Nocking a tight pull against his bowstring, the explosive arrow vanished from sight. With White Current manipulation, the thing was hidden all around.

Loosing the arrow he concentrated on it as it arced high, up then down as a college would. Passing through a window, it would be close to Volgang. Releasing the Force Cloak covering it, he nocked another arrow and instead covered this now.

To the duo inside, suddenly an arrow would appear mid flight. No trajectory line, unless your mind could work like a super computer. Some did. But he was sure for the moment he was fine. He was hidden. Now he could just volley shots in for protection.

Use his Force Shadow, see where they were. Quickly draw, cover the arrow so it dissappeared. Then shoot. Once it was within the building area, he would release his Force Cloak and move it to the next arrow.

Rann watched as the two individuals fighting eachother ascended the building as he sprinted towards it himself. He counted himself lucky, this meant that for the moment they were not in his way. However, they were going the way he himself needed to go. He moved forward, following behind them jumping from ledge to ledge, trying to ascend the building as fast as possible. When the stray bolts from the ground stopped reaching him, and thus his lightsaber unnecessary, he disengaged it and returned it to its spot inside his robe. He then focused all of his energy to jumping, intending to be the first to reach Aren.
As he just about crested the top of the building, he could sense movement from inside Aren's cell. He had blocked out all other information besides for her safe rescue, and thus was unaware of the other goings on around the building. He could sense every small movement, like those of a droid, inside the cell. Diligently working away at the mechanisms holding the door in place.

He Jumped up towards the cell, and the door swung open. Aren, and her little droid, were freefalling out of the cell.

"Aren!" he called out to her as he reached out to catch her. The struggles going on elsewhere were insignificant compared to this moment. Luckily he did catch her, and he rolled down back onto the roof of the building, Aren and her little droid safe and sound.

Rann stared at her in bewilderment for a couple seconds as they rested. It had been how long since they had seen eachother? He forgot that there was still a fight going on. Suddenly everything came rushing back, every emotion and feeling he had forgotten for her during his training on Vjun. All he could say, all he could manage.

"Hi."

The tinkering Aren had been doing earlier helped Sam finish the job. He actually accomplished it far faster than she expected he would. Hearing the click of the lock, seeing the door open, she let out a small scream of surprise and grabbed a hold of her little droid. As she fell, the Force came rushing back to her, but it slipped out of her grasp with everything going on around her.

Fully expecting to be found as a bloody splat on the ground, when Rann's arms wrapped around her, she placed her trust in him. Their landing was a bit rough, but when it came to the two of them, things seemed to go that way. It took them both a few seconds to realize they were safe on top of the building.

A great deal of time had passed since they had last seen each other, both of them had changed greatly. When she met his gaze, Aren could tell they were going down similar paths. Both of them doing it for different reasons, but she thought their end goal was quite similar.

Giving him a large smile, her arms wrapped around him and brought him into a very large (for her) hug. At the time of their parting, he was just learning about the Force and she hadn't even yet begun to make that journey. Then she met Lan-Dai. He had opened the door for her, but it scared her and she ran. Ending up on the world of Dromund Kaas, a fateful meeting with Adrian had finished opening that cracked door.

Releasing him from the hug, there were tears of joy in her eyes, but also of pain and fear. Hurt, anger and several other emotions were being felt by the woman. Even though she had released her grip on him, she still held on. Looking at him, knowing what they had gone through and suddenly feeling almost like the girl she had been when they met, an idea came to her.

Closing her eyes and finding some calm in all the chaos around them, she reached out to the Force. Taking hold of it and keeping her grip on Rann, what looked like a portal opened under them and they fell. Of course, they didn't fall far, but the two of them were now in another place entirely. Just gone from Dorsis totally and nowhere to be found on that planet.

Letting out a grunt, she opened her eyes and smiled up at him. Blinking a few times to try and clear her vision, she failed and instead just hugged him again. In their close proximity, with the training, Adrian had given her, and with the Force accessible, she could actually feel what he was going through. Whispering into his shoulder, "I never knew. How blind I was..."

Turning her head just a little to be able to see him better. One hand moved up to the back of his and pulled it down closer to hers. Unless he pulled away and she doubted that would happen, she would put her lips gently to his and give him a light kiss. A small hint as to her feelings and something to work on in the future.

Rann held Aren tight upon her rescue, gladdened greatly by her safety. He smled with relief and soon forgot about the danger still surrounding them, concerned only with Aren's safety. They closed again into an embrace as they fell suddenly and their surroundings shifted around them. His eyes closed shut as they were teleported unceremoniously across the galaxy. When they hit the ground after the short fall, he opened them. Rann gazed around the new environment, recognizing none of it and returned his eyes to Aren. She pulled him into a hug again and he obliged, happily.

All of the emotions he'd had to stifle during his time with Riamah on Vjun, the fear he felt, sadness and loneliness when they had parted came rushing back. He felt ashamed when he remembered just how quickly those feelings were forgotten in the face of his new Master. The training he'd gone through and the missions he'd performed. All of his experiences past the time he had traveled with Aren. None of them mattered.

All of their time together rushed back to his mind. The sudden flood of emotions was almost overwhelming to him but he tried his hardest to maintain composure. To remain strong, as he was trained to do. Yet he lightly began to tremble. Relief, fear, happiness, sadness, all of these began manifesting themselves.

He found himself looking back into her eyes when she was speaking to him, and he'd remembered how beautiful she was. He felt the hand on the back of his head and every self-defense instinct was telling him to react, but he was powerless. He was shocked by the sudden kiss, but got over it just as quickly and returned it enthusiastically. Every emotion in his mind exploded tenfold. He pulled away from her, breaking the kiss and stared into her eyes.

"I could have said something. Anything. I should have." He placed his hand on her cheek, and smiled at her again, before leaning his head in and placing it on hers, holding her tight.

Where they were didn't matter.

How they got there didn't matter.

What's happening on Dorsis doesn't matter.

The only thing that matters...

Is she's safe.

Rann kissed her again, and wrapped his arms tighter around her. No force in this universe would break this hold, he thought, and cried happily, silently, to himself.

Pacing slowly, like a wild animal stalking its unsuspecting prey, Volgang moved silently among the floor of the building he found himself in. Lan-Dai was on this floor somewhere and Volgang was far from finished with him. Reconsidering his current course of action, Volgang resolved to turn off his lightsaber so as not to give himself away while he searched for his victim.

Stopping where he stood for a moment, Volgang closed his eyes and allowed his ears to do what his eyes could not. Stretching out with the Force, it was then that Volgang finally found what he sought. He was actually trying to gain a second wind in order to keep fighting, with no apparent intention to flee from him. Standing still, Volgang simply waited long enough for Lan-Dai to start rising from the floor. From where Volgang now stood he had a clear view and the means to approach from above if he jumped correctly. Poising himself slowly, ever prepared.... The time was drawing near, like a hunter waiting for a clear shot.

Suddenly there it was, Lan-Dai had edged over to a beam and was using it to support himself as his breathing returned to just below normal. If there ever was a time to strike, it was now, and Volgang took it. Jumping almost flawlessly, Volgang was able to land on top of Lan-Dai and pin him down under his cybernetic leg as he roared in apparent victory. Looking to wear him down once more, Volgang simply began to deliver pulse kicks to his chest using the hydraulics system Volgang specifically requested on his robotic leg.

Just knowing both the physical and moral damage he was inflicting was more than enough to keep Volgang from restraining a loud snicker as he was able to feel the armor that Lan-Dai concealed under his robes start to give way. Through each kick, Volgang was able to somehow feel as the armor began to crack, yet it wasn't enugh to shatter it completely. However, the damage inflicted was more than enough to render it almost useless againt him how as he stared into Lan-Dai's face as he took the damage and slowly began to feel the onslaught take more and more effect.

Laughing almost maniacally, Volgang held Lan-Dai up with his left arm, the Shistavanen now drunk with glee and satisfaction at seeing his new enemy practically broken and apparently helpless, the ultimate insult to Deo-Law was finally at hand.

"A pity you're nothing but........ a nothing..." Volgang said mockingly. "I would have preferred that you gave me a worthy fight..... I'm almost disappointed that it must now end on such a note...." Volgang continued as he ignited his lightsaber. It was then suddenly that something caused an explosion within his mechanical leg, either a malfunction or an overheating side effect of the hydraulics being taken beyond their limits. It was more than enough to cause Volgang to roar in pain and discomfort as he released his grip on Lan-Dai and stumble back. In the few seconds it took for Volgang to return to his senses, he saw that Lan-Dai was now nowhere to be seen or sensed, only the coming of another arrow aimed right at him. With barely enough time, Volgang once more created a Force shield around himself as the arrow exploded too close to him and sent him flying back into another beam that broke under the strain of his impact. Rising as fast as he could, there was once more very little that Volgang could do as yet another arrow appeared apparently from out of nowhere flying towards him. Once more Volgang looked to reactivate the Force shield around him in order to protect himself from these powerful projectiles. This time Volgang stopped it in midair slightly farther from him, causing it to explode further away from him. While the explosion wasn't as damaging as the first, it still sent him flying out of a window behind him and falling downwards to the ground. Looking to grab onto whatever he could find as he fell, Volgang finally maanged to grab onto a protruding scaffold with his right arm, yet it gave way seconds after under his weight.

Continuing to fall, Volgang could only brace himself to land without taking too much damage.

There was next to no time to breathe, as such every second counted. Lan-Dai took every split moment not only to recover, but also to reason. Here he was dealing with someone who was not only arrogant, but deranged as well. This, Lan-Dai soon realized, was a combination that was both detrimental and easy to exploit.

Faintly hearing the shutting off of a lightsaber implied that Volgang was looking to get as much cover as possible, and it was more than likely that Volgang had by now caught sight of him. Calming his breathing, and regulating his thoughts to gain a second wind, Lan-Dai made his way over to a beam so as to gain support to stand.

Suddenly there he was, Volgang had jumped over a stack of crates that hid him from view, barely missing them. Taken by surprise, Lan-Dai found himself pinned down under Volgang's mechanical leg. It was then that the leg began to constantly kick him in a pulsating motion, retracting and launching itself at Lan-Dai as the barrage of kicks looked to attack his torso. Luckily, the armor he wore under his robes absorbed most of the damage, however, the armor was only designed to take so much blunt force trauma before becoming almost useless against physical attacks, and perhaps others.

While the armor protected him from most of the kinetic force inflicted, Lan-Dai knew that this attack would take its toll not immediately, but later on. It was then that Lan-Dai resolved to feed his adversary's ego by way of a little dramatic acting. By feigning more pain and "effect" that actually caused, Volgang easily reverted to his conceited state. Since all of Volgang's focus was on Lan-Dai's face and torso, he did not see Lan-Dai take out a spherica bomb and slip it into one of the ventilation openings of Volgang's prosthetic leg through the Force.

When Volgang held Lan-Dai up to land the killing blow, all Lan-Dai had to do was activate the switch on his belt that detonated the bomb inside Volgang's mechanical leg. Watching him stumble back was all the time he needed to once again slip away to keep recovering. What Lan-Dai did not see were the 2 explosive arrows that attacked Volgang and sent him flying out of the building.

Left alone on the floor of the building, Lan-Dai began to examine himself and keep catching his breath with whateer time he was given.

Black Hawk looked at his surroundings. He was just channeling his anger at Mike and then somehow it teleported him here. He did not know what he did. Black Hawk guessed that it was force projection.

Black Hawk decided to send out a dark vibe. He sent it out to everyone that was there. It involved Volgang and Lan-Dai. They were in space trying to fight against a terrible enemy. They were unknown. While they were fighting, Volgang’s ship somehow got destroyed and Volgang died. The only other person there was Lan-Dai, all alone.

Black Hawk, then, sent out a powerful headache to everyone. He was going to walk out and around the area, but he gotten pulled back and left the planet.

For how long had Lan-Dai knelt in meditation? He did not know, nor was he counting the seconds. All that he could perceive was that he should not remain where and how he was any longer, for who knows what effect the arrows had had on Volgang, or how long said effect would last. Rising slowly, Lan-Dai walked over to the side of the building on which Aren was held only to find that the containment chamber had been opened, and she was nowhere to be found or sensed.

Concern stole over the Emerallian as he wondered where she had gone, though from the looks of it she had been deliberately freed while he was busy with Volgang. Not wanting to overexert himself more than he should, Lan-Dai fired his S-5 hookshot on the scaffold holding the containment chamber in place. Using it to lower himself to the ground, Lan-Dai then began to look for any signs of his impromptu allies throughout this ordeal.

In the midst of his search, Lan-Dai was suddenly overwhelmed by a brief vision in which Lan-Dai and Volgang were involved in a battle in space. This battle ended with Lan-Dai being the victor, yet there was more to it than that. Somehow it seemed too vague and convenient to actually be a premonition from the future and instead felt more like a ruse either from Volgang, or perhaps another unseen party. The vision ended, and the same source then sent out a shockwave that caused a sensation triggering a headache in Lan-Dai, and chances are anyone else in the vicinity that was Force sensitive.

As the sensation subsided, Lan-Dai recalled the hook from where it was embedded and holstered his preferred blaster once more. Taking hold of his lightsaber, Lan-Dai patiently continued to keep recovering as he waited for Volgang to once again attack, as well as his new allies to show themselves if they would.

The impact had been diminished, yet the damage was unavoidable. Restraining a roar when he landed, Volgang could not refrain from sensing the pain and complication that staying on his feet had now become.

Fortunately, however, he had landed on a side of the building away from both Lan-Dai, his unseen benefactors, and the general public altogether. Pausing to reason, Volgang knew beyond a reasonable doubt or bout of near-psychotic rage that if Lan-Dai were to attack him at this point, it was more than likely that Lan-Dai stood quite the chance of claiming victory. This was an undeniable truth, and not even being drunk with a mindset of vengeance was a sound rebuttal.

Reasoning as fast as he could, Volgang managed to enter the building from one of the unattended doors. As the building was under construction it stood to reason that there would be tools and construction material, and perhaps even a droid that could assist him. Hobbling through several areas, Volgang finally found enough material to make a somewhat decent repair to his prosthetic leg.

Looking aroung, Volgang sought the area that was best hidden from view, as well as capable of projecting the least amount of sound as possible. Retreating into a smaller chamber where there were even more tools, the Shistavanen quietly began to collect himsel, catch his breath, and begin to make whatever repairs he knew how.

While it uas unsettling for him to be simply there trying to recover, Volgang suddenly smiled as it dawned on him that his adversary was probably doing the same.

Looking to control his breathing, repairs to his leg were underway......

While not in public view, the presence of his new adversary did not diminish in the slightest. This could only mean one thing: Volgang hasn't left the scene and is either gathering strength or biding his time to strike once more, or perhaps both.

Stretching out with the Force, Lan-Dai could clearly sense Volgang was not too far away, yet deliberately not coming to attack. At the same time only a faint trace of Aren was elusively sensed at a great span. Why was Lan-Dai sensing his friend so far from where she once was? Now was not the time to seek an explanation.

Walking slowly, an unignited lightsaber in hand, Lan-Dai remembered seeing a Mandalorian fighting some men not too fara away from where his own duel with Volgang began. Perhaps this was an answer that was better sought at the present time, as it was probable that he would need the same. There was also the issue of the unseen archer that apparently assisted him. While Lan-Dai could not sense this presence, his instinct told him that he also lingered here.

Seeing the Mandalorian finally, Lan-Dai began to slowly make his way towards him. While both concerened and curious as to his presence amid this whole ordeal, Lan-Dai could not afford to hurry to his objective as he was still in the process of recovering from the last round of battle against the Dark Jedi Master. Coming closer, it became easier to realize that while his appearance was ambiguous, it was not malevolent, and it was highly probable that this Mandalorian was an ally, or could become one in time.

Now in full view of each other as the Emerallian approached from the side Lan-Dai held up his free hand in a gesture of peace, as Lan-Dai found bringing words out slightly more challenging in his state than he thought possible while catching his breath.

While looking through the various tools that lay around the derelict work area, Volgang was suddenly greeted by several small droids. By instinct they crowded Volgang as if looking to be useful and in need of exercise, they scanned his prosthetics to see what repair or maintenance was needed or they could provide. After a brief scan, the small droids went to work on the Shistavanen's arm and leg. The arm was tuned up and good to go in a matter of minutes, his leg, however, would take far longer.

As soon as the 2 droids that were working on his arm were done, they went to join their comrades as they worked almost feverishly on his prosthetic leg. From patching the smallest and thinnest of wires to reshaping and attaching pieces of sheet metal, Volgang's leg was far closer to being in working order than it would have been if he were to have worked alone, albeit not in pristine condition either way. Taking the time to connect to the Force, Volgang sought to assess the immediate vicinity to search for his quarry.

Soon enough, there he was, though he was not alone. Apparently there were several others who like him were connected to the Force, and perhaps others who were not. How would he be able to deal with such a situation? Just as quickly he remembered that there were likewise others in tune to the dark side like himself. Perhaps Volgang himself would have impromptu allies.

For a good while, Volgang had begun to think clearly on how to act, but this would not last as suddenly he was overwhelmed once more by a vision of his vicious duel with his ancestor. His breathing accelerated and so did his heart rate as he once more began to relapse into a psychotic rage. The droids were nearly done with his leg when he suddenly sprang from where he found himself and burst through the opposite doorway as he bolted for Lan-Dai once more as he completely disregarded everyone else around him.

Igniting the lightsaber once more, Volgang roared as he lunged toward his adversary. The fallen Jedi Master wanted blood, and would not currently stop until he got it..........

Given his stunted pace, the Emerallian failed to reach his unknown cohort in this ordeal before he walked away from the scene as those he left thrashed about began to scatter and drag those that couldn't walk for themselves. Many winced at the sight of Lan-Dai and only quickened their steps as they looked to be any otherwhere than in his immediate vicinity, even in his hindered and injured state.

Standing still, Lan-Dai began to regulate his breathing as he took a good look around. Somehow there were others who albeit unseen had provided some assistance throughout his duel against Volgang. Perhaps they would either reveal themselves, or at least allow themselves to be sensed through the Force. Several minutes had passed, and the search had thus far proved fruitless. The crashing of a glass panel, however, snapped the Ronin Padawan back to the moment at hand.

Instinctively igniting his lightsaber, his reflex action had served him well. Calmed and poised, Lan-Dai met his enemy as he charged towards him. His rage and thoughtlessness were a factor against him, a factor that was more than easy to exploit. Volgang's attacks were blinded by bloodlust, but they did give him an undeniable advantage: Adrenaline. While Volgang and Lan-Dai were both impeded by the successful attacks that had landed on them, Volgang's resolve to kill Lan-Dai was stronger than Lan-Dai's resolve to stay alive and neutralize Volgang.

Volgang attacked in an uncoordinated way, but with far more energy than Lan-Dai was able to defend himself albeit near flawlessly. Despite the break in between, Lan-Dai's strength was waning fast. He needed to end this soon if he was to get out of this duel in one piece.

Volgang's full on attack had a fatal flaw, all Lan-Dai had to do was look for it hard enough......
