Fiery Pit of Hell (@Lady Kay) pm for invite

Hawk chuckles lightly. "Nah..I couldn't trust ya with flame. Probably set your hair on fire." He teases her back in their brother/ sister type relationship. She was like his annoying little sister.

"You and me both. ". He did have a secondary plan. "If we don't ..we have a few options. But we will cross that bridge if we have too." He finishes welding the first piece. He places the next piece on the hull so that it overlaps. "Hold it just like this."

She stuck her tongue out at him as he spoke of her setting things on fire. As if! She wasn't that clumsy. Kay then held the second sheet of plating in the way that he showed her. "Right. Let's hope that we don't need to use any other option." As she held the piece, she glanced around, searching with squinting eyes for the sign of any intruders.

It was nice having someone have his back while doing this type of repair. He had to focus on what he was doing. He switches the welding tool off. He nods as he checks out his work. "Ok time to go inside." He takes the remaining hull pieces and walks up the ramp.

He really hopes this patch works. He kneels down on the floor next the almost covered hull. "Two more pieces..we should be good here." That only left 2 pieces for the top of the ship.

Kay followed him inside, having left the ladder behind. It wasn't as though she needed it. She held the other pieces as instructed and even yawned a little while doing so.

"Back outside then? Boy do you have a weird way of doing things. We should've finished all of the outside repairs first, then went inside. Silly men...."

[member="Lady Kay"]

He raises an eyebrow. "That not how you work on a ship with limited resources. This repair is the most important. I wanted it finished before doing the rest. Now I know how much I can use on the rest. Silly girl."

He gathers the hull plating and heads topside of Kamikaze.

She huffed as she followed him. Well okay, so she wasn't an engineer, but in her mind it was the most logical with her way of doing things. Yet it was his ship, so she just went with it. Kay looked up at him as he climbed to the top. "Need a hand still?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Nah I'm fine. You wanna fix us something to eat. I'm starving." Kay would only be in his way up here. He surveys the damage again trying to decide what was the most important fix. He could seal off the crew quarters. So that could wait until they get back. He walked along the ship on top.

He place the biggest pieces of the hull plating over the damaged near the engines. He welds it into place. The next piece he put in between the deflector dish and the cockpit and welded. The last piece was placed over the forward compartment. He stands and admires his work. "That should do it."

Go and fix him something to eat? At a time like this? Well if that's all that he wants her to do....She shrugged her shoulders. "Yeah, sure." Kay went inside of the ship and looked for the food storage. As she prepared them a little meal of something that resembled a stew, she thought about why he might of just sent her away. But there was a chance that she was just reading too much into it.

So when the stew was cooked, she called out to him, "Lunch's ready!!!!"

He was on his way back into the ship when Kay called out that lunch was ready. It smelled good whatever she was making. "I'll be right there. Have to wash up." He yells back to her. He put his tools away than go into washing the grime off his face and hands. He would have jump into the shower but his stomach was rumbling for food.

He goes to the galley and sits down. "We are all fix. I'm gonna have to seal the crew quarters. We will have to grab what we need before lift off,"

Kay was already sitting down and eating her lunch. Hawk's was keeping warm as he didn't take long. She chewed a bit of the meat before speaking, "Seal off the crews quarters? Is the damage that extensive? All that I need is within my satchel, so there's no worries there. How long before we can leave?" The sooner the better!

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Hmmmm." He says as he swallows a spoonful of the stew, it was so good. "It's not that bad. But I'm more about the damage that can't be seen. If we lose hull pressure in the crew quarters..we are done. It would tear the ship apart. Better to seal it off. "

He takes another spoonful of food. "You will need than that. We will take pillows, blankets,". He thinks about Kay last question when to lift off. "I needed to get some sleep before lift off. I'm thinking in 8 to 12 hours."

Eight to twelve hours? Man..."Okay. I'll grab the stuff and have the first watch." She didn't finish the stew. It wasn't to her liking. But Hawk was always one that would eat almost anything put in front of him.

She exited the room only to return with all of the blankets and pillows that she could find. Once she managed to squeeze into the room with the bundle, she dropped it down by her feet. "Well, I think this is all of it....Time to make you a bed and let you sleep."

Hawk laughs at Kay trying to get through the door of the galley. "Were you thinking of sleeping in the kitchen? I'm sleeping in the cockpit or the forward compartment. The chairs are much more comfortable." He finishes his bowl of stew,

"I don't want to sleep right now. Not with a full belly. Why don't you sleep first? I'm too wired to sleep yet."

Kay smirked and threw a pillow and blanket at him. "You might want to sleep in a stuffy old chair, but I don't." Instead she took all of the remaining blankets and pillows and made herself a bed on the floor. At least then she could straighten out, instead of sleeping in a sitting position.

Once her bed was made, she slid into it and cozied up under the covers. "Turn the light out when you go. And don't let me sleep for too long.

Hawk dodged the pillow while laughing. He grabs his blanket and pillows. "Night Kay." He says switching off the light as he leaves Kay in the galley. He waits a few moments than walks outside down the ramp and seals the door behind him with a new code locking Kay in.

"Sorry Kay." He whispers. It was for her own good. He just couldn't let the amulet go. Not on this place, it wasn't safe. It had to be destroyed. He knew exactly where the amulet was. It was calling to him.

He would make better time without her. His plan was to get the amulet and return before she wakes. Using the force, he races toward the amulet.

A few hours later she woke up. It was dark in the room, yet quiet. Kay got to her feet and felt her way out towards the cockpit. She figured that she'd find Hawk asleep in the pilot's chair. But he wasn't anywhere. "Hawk? Hawk?!"

She checked out every room that she could go into but had no luck. Did he go outside? She hurried over to the door and tried to open it. But it was locked. Must be a mistake. She tried again. Still locked. He didn't....

Kay hurried over to her satchel and got out her comm, signalling his, she tried to reach him. "Hawk!! Where are you!!"

Hawk force leap and ran to the amulet. Unaware that a Sith apprentice was watching and following him. Hawk reaches the lava flow. With all the flooding from the acid rain it was much closer to the ship. Hawk stood there for a moment looking at the river of lava. The call of the amulet was loud. It wanted to be found.

Hawk reaches out into the force to call the amulet to his hand. The amulet leaps out of the lava to Hawk. It was glowing white. Hawk breathed a sigh of relief when it was in his hand again. He would keep it safe. That was his last thought before he struck in the back of the head with a lightsaber hilt. Hawk fell to the ground.

The amulet still clutched in his hand. The Sith apprentice laughs. "Foolish Jedi. ". He slices Hawk's hand off that was holding the amulet. He picks up the hand and amulet together. Being careful not to touch the amulet. "This belong to the Sith." To add insult to injury, the Sith kicked Hawk in the ribs before walking away with his prize.

It was Kay calling his name that woke him up. With his left hand, he switched on his com link. "Kay..." His voice was filled with pain and sorrow. He slowly stands. The amulet and his right hand was gone.

She heard him, although it was a weaker sounding him. "Hawk? Hawk where are you? I can't get the stupid door to open and I'd rather not rip a hole through the hull as you had just fixed it. Did you fall asleep somewhere?" Hopefully that was why he was sounding weak.

[member="Lady Kay"]

"I'm outside." He says as he walks back to the ship. It was a good thing, that lightsaber cauterizing the wound or he would have bleed to death. It does nothing for the pain. He had been so stupid. Now the Sith had the amulet. frak!

"I ...changed the code." He gives her the new code to unlock the ship.

Kay punched in the new code and then hurried down the ramp. But nothing would prepare her for seeing Hawk without a hand. All of the anger that she had for being locked in the ship went away as she went to his side, wrapped an arm around him and helped him back into his ship. "What happened? Why did you lock me in?"
