It was hard to leave Maddie behind after the unfortunate incident. Hawk had no choice. The angel of death amulet had to be destroyed. Something that he had thought could have been used for good was evil. He hated that Nate was right. It had to be destroyed.

Blackhole wouldn't do it. It had to be taken somewhere that no one could get at it. It had to be completely destroyed. The only thing that would completely do it was to bring it to Mustafar.

Mustafar was almost complete made up of lava and lava rock formation. It would be a perfect place to extinguish the amulet.

That was why he left Maddie behind in the care of his mom so soon after the incident. Together with Kay aboard his ship they travel to the planet.

Kay of course joined him on this venture when he asked her to. She had to be sure that he actually destroyed it instead of just pretending to. And as much as she disliked hot planets, this one was at the top of her list of places to avoid. But now they were headed straight there.

"So what's the plan? Fly over a volcano and drop it in?" She knew that it couldn't be that easy.

"No. We haven't to make sure that it gone all of it. Nothing can remain. Especially the crystal." They would be arriving planet side in a few hours, "The gold is just a setting. It the crystal that is dangerous."

He was afraid of the amulet. It had a mind of it own.

"So....what are you suggesting? Walking over to a lava pit and dropping it in ourselves? Should be easy as there are so many to choose from...."

Of course it couldn't be that simple. Nothing was ever that simple. She couldn't figure out why he would want it in the first place. Power corrupts. Certainly the other Jedi in his Order told him as much.

"Yeah something like that. We are gong to have find the hottest one around. The crystal isn't ordinary kind. It stronger." He hoped that he was doing the right thing.

What the hell was he thinking. It was the right thing. He rubs his temple trying to ease the pain from a headache.

The hottest one? Great. What fun!! Not. "Well I guess that we'll have to use your ships readings to figure out which pit is the hottest. And let's hope that there aren't any Sith around."

"No Sith...that would be great." Soon it was time to take the ship out of hyperspace. He switches the shield on. Never know what can happen when pop out of hyper. Have to ready.

He pulls the levers back bring the ship out. The stars streaking by the windows slow down. The red glow of the planet lights up the cockpit. There were a few ships in view. "Sith"

Kay sighed as she spoke too soon. But there was no guarantee that those were indeed Sith ships. But still she offered up her alternative.

"There's still the option for the black hole. It'll be torn apart at a molecular level and never escape."

Frowning, he briefly touches the force. "Not Sith. Probably pirates or smugglers." He ignores her her comment about black hole. He wasn't going to have that conversation again.

"Scan the planet for me." The,scanner were on Kay's side of the ship console.

She sighed and nodded as she looked to the console. It had been a long time since she had had to use one. The first button that she pushed didn't seem to work, but the second one was right on the money as she scanner began to operate. "Are we going to scan the whole planet? That could take a while...."

Hawk raises an eyebrow at Kay pressing a random button. The button she pushed fires a laser shot into space, "KAY? Be careful." Was he going to have to give her the same lecture that he gave Maddie about not pushing buttons unless she knew what they did.

"Yes we have to scan the whole planet." He carefully monitors the pirate ships. Yup they were turning toward them. Thanks to Kay hitting the wrong button.

"I'm sorry!" She had no idea that the weapons would be on her side. They really should have labels. "Just radio them and tell them that you have an idiot on board that likes to press random buttons. It's not as though it was aimed anywhere close to them...Or you could try to out fly them."

He curses under his breath. "If I run..they know I have something valuable onboard. We don't want that kind of trouble." He was about to radio them when he received a transmission. "Undentified freighter. Prepare to be board." He switches on his com. "Hey guys..sorry about the misfire....training a new person..you know how it is."

He waits for their reply. "ETA on the scan?" He asks Kay after mute his com so the Pirates can't heard.

Oh joy. She had already been on a ship that was boarded by pirates. This was becoming a habit, much like surviving crashes.

She glanced at the scanner. "I don't know. A while. We haven't even reached the other side of the planet yet to scan it. There are some hot spots nearby, but I don't know if they are the hottest on planet."

"Frak! That is not good news." He eyes the approaching pirates ships. "Ok this is what we are going to do. I'm going to head over to the other side of the planet trying to evade them while you complete the scan. That should be doable right?" He asks her for input on his idea.

She nodded quickly. "Sounds good to me." Kay buckles up her seatbelt. "Lucky for me, I don't get air sick." She continued to eye the scanner and let Hawk worry about the pirates.

Hawk flashes her a lopsided smile before putting the ship though elaborate moves streaking toward the other ship. The Pirates ships weren't too far behind them. Pirates fires a couple of warning shots awhile telling them to heave ho.

"How much longer Kay?"

She held onto the console as Hawk weaved the ship about, keeping her eyes on the scanner and trying to ignore everything else. "Got it! 376 kilometres north. Looks like a volcano. Just what you wanted...." Maybe he foresaw this too.

"Good. Now to get rid of our friends." The Pirates were still pursing them relentlessly. Since there was only two of them, Hawk flips the ship and over them in one quick motion so that Kamikaze was behind them now. Hawk fires to two shots into the Pirates ship destroying them.

He heads to Kay coordinates as they head into the planet atmosphere. He spots Kay's volcano but there wasn't a good place to land. "Frak."

She hated the loss of life, but didn't want to argue about it right now. There were other things to worry about. And sadly it looked like they were going to have to spend more time on the way-too-hot planet than they wanted to. "I guess we have to walk..."
