Avengers was so-so. Thor was good, the Dark World sucked. It's tapered off as it has become a cash cow.

lot of flare, flashes, action scenes and so forth does not make movies.

You just described the prequels perfectly.

So really, what's the worst that can happen? We get three new movies that are just as bad as the prequels were.

There were elements of the prequels which were decent.

I enjoyed Episode 3. Certainly the best of the prequels to mind, and the only one which really worked.
