OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a new incendiary weapon for mass production
  • Canon Link: None
  • Permissions: None
  • Primary Source: Isotope-5B

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer(s): Freebirds Industries
  • Affiliation: Freebirds Industries
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: FI-6
  • Modularity: It's a gel that can be used in grenades, bombs, sprays, or projectors
  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material(s): Isotope-5B, Phosphorus, Magnesium, petroleum/ethanol fuel product

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Extremely potent incendiary gel that can be used either as an area of effect weapon when aerosolized, or can burn through most materials when concentrated. Gel serves as a base that allows for it to be either used in a thicker (more heat/intense burning) or thinner (wider spread, more area covered) fluid. This allows for it to be used in a wide variety of applications.
  • To make the fluid less dense and more viscous the gel just needs more ethanol added to the mixture. This spreads the various particulates in the solution further out such as the primary accelerants, main fuel, and therefore makes it more fluid. To make it more gel like, the fluid just needs to be boiled in a CO2 sealed container as part of a distillation unit. This will remove more of the ethanol from the fluid making it more gelatinous than fluid.

STRENGTHS
  • Adaptable flammable gel: This material is a quite adaptable incendiary agent, both being able to used as a stand alone application to slowly melt through most materials, or being used as a fuel for a flame projector or incendiary bombs. This is controlled by adjusting the ethanol/petroleum to Isotope-5B ratio that allows for the viscosity of the gel to change from a liquid to gelatin.
  • Extremely hot and very hard to extinguish: This material's chemical makeup alongside the heat that it burns at makes it very difficult to extinguish outside of purpose built flame retardants and even then a lot of them will be required to extinguish the fire. Adding water to the fire will only fuel it and make it hotter for example, meaning that for most situations the only way to extinguish it is to let it just burn itself out.

WEAKNESSES
  • This stuff is extremely volatile: This incendiary is so flammable that it needs to be stored in sealed containers with only CO2 gas in them. This is because of the fact that phosphorus is so volatile that when exposed to any kind of oxygen or humidity in the air it is liable to combust. And being one of two primary accelerants in this gel, makes this gel extremely volatile especially when exposed to air. In other words, be very, very, VERY, careful when moving, storing, or carrying this stuff.
  • It sticks to absolutely everything: This stuff is really sticky, which makes it even more difficult to deal with especially when in gelatin form. This makes it an extreme problem if you're trying to handle this stuff, and it spills, especially onto you. Just...... just don't try to wipe it off. Stop it. Hey. STOP WIPING IT OFF! YOU'RE MAKING IT WORSE!

DESCRIPTION
This incendiary gel started development as a way to clear out a lot of the damaged buildings and debris an the aftermath of the Surric Civil War. The need for such a material was seen as many of the buildings and ruins were damaged in places that normal power tools and cutting equipment needed to either reduce or otherwise demolish the debris safely. This gel made it so that a simple application of it on various necessary points would allow it to burn through said materials and debris allowing for various situations to be made safer by non-explosively reducing various chunks of debris. However in the aftermath of said war and the buildup of the SLDF in the system, the gel was immediately seen as a weapon of war. It can be used in flamethrowers, bombs, or even just as originally intended as separate applied substance. This allows it to be used in a variety of roles on the battlefield, but it's main feature is that it will eat through just anything with the sheer amount of heat produced. This combined with its ability to stick to most if not all surfaces either as a mist, gel, or semi-liquid makes it a nightmare for those on the receiving end. Just remember to be careful with application, as once it starts burning, very little can be done to make it stop. And I don't need to mention that it doesn't care what it's sticking to.
