PRODUCTION INFORMATION

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • This powder is a less pure, and less potent form of Isotope-5A that can be created in Molecular Furnaces as either a byproduct of Isotope-5A production in said furnaces OR as the chief product of said furnace allowing for mass production. This means that any station, planet, ship, or any other kind of vessel with the access to molecular furnace technology can readily create this stuff from just about anything.
  • Powder doesn't have a liquid state and is more stable than Isotope-5A and Isotope-5, making it safer to handle, create, and use than the other two variations of the element. This means that instead of having to be super careful like with Isotope-5A you can have less restrictions and controls in place to mitigate risks. Also means that you need a more powerful ignition source to get the powder to detonate unlike Isotope-5A's liquid form.

STRENGTHS
  • Much safer: This version of Isotope-5 is much more stable than the other predecessors, which makes it easier to handle and otherwise easier to control. The powder is also easier to transport, manufacture, and otherwise manage than the more unstable Isotope-5 variants.

WEAKNESSES
  • Less explosive energy: This variant like its predecessor of Isotope-5A suffers a 37% decrease in the explosive energy output of the material compared to Isotope-5. This is a further addition of 22% decrease of energy potential compared to Isotope-5A.

DESCRIPTION
This material was discovered when the scientists of Freebirds Industries were beginning their introduction of Isotope-5A production to various molecular furnaces. It at first was a byproduct of the production of the material, and while the scientists found the material similar, they assumed it was just the various input materials sub-atomic structures being left over after the creation of Isotope-5A. However after several tests and the exact same material being found every time, a large enough sample was gathered and purposely examined to determine what exactly what it was that was coming up. What they found was that while the chemical and atomic bonds of this material were more numerous than those of Isotope-5A, the defects in the structure, imperfections and otherwise impurities spread throughout the grainy material was much more than standard Isotope-5A. And it wouldn't outright burn when fire was exposed to it, however when a larger detonator was introduce, the powder rapidly burned like gunpowder.​
If the gunpowder was on space cocaine, PCP, and had taken steroids for thirty years.​
This new discovery was immediately rushed into various labs, with many of the researchers attempting to unlock its potential and it didn't take long to realize that the higher the temperature and pressure of the ignition source, the more rapid and violent the material would burn. This lead to the utilization of a plasma ignition source which caused the powder to reach its peak efficiency and effectiveness as a propellant. This new powder burned hotter than any previous solid based fuels, faster, and with more pressure generated than any standard out there. While the Isotope-5A based DEX would prove to be a more potent explosive due to the nature of Isotope-5A, Isotope-5B would lend itself to firearms and munitions technology as a more advanced and powerful propellant than standard gunpowder.​
