- Capable of generating an extremely disproportionate amount of power relative to its size. The micronized antimatter reactor by itself provides a practically unlimited source of power, the output of this can be magnified to a potentially astronomical degree via a conscious channeling of the Force through the heart’s Elysian Focus crystal. The successful execution of this process requires a sentient Force-sensitive host who is trained in this specific application of the Force.
- Under normal circumstances, power generated by the heart goes through two stages of energy amplification. The first is entirely passive, during which energy is absorbed by the kyber crystal and boosted in power output many times over. The second is an active process and demands conscious exertion on the part of the host in order to execute. However, this stage is far more powerful, capable of increasing the power output to that produced by large starship and city reactors. but the degree depends on the skill, power, and Force reservoir of the host.
- Synthetic Tobal Lens doubles as a heat sink and waste energy collector. It protects the heart during power generation and channeling operations, which would otherwise present a dangerously high risk of explosion or severe overheating.
- Exotic and Robust Power Source: The heart’s micronized antimatter reactor is designed to power and support far more than the body of its host. It is primarily intended to channel power through an Elysian Focus crystal, which is then consciously amplified via the Force by the host before being shunted into a system outside of the host’s body, lending that system extraordinary amounts of power which in many cases, rivals the power output of a much larger reactor system.
- Attunement: The implantation of the Elysian Focus Crystal into a cybernetic heart allows the host to quickly develop a strong attunement to the crystal, further enhancing their ability to channel the Force through it in order to amplify the energy output.
- Power Application: The power generated by the heart can not be used to power the host’s body, with the exception of the heart’s functions. Apart from these elements, it imparts no other direct benefit on the host and will not augment their Force abilities or make them physically stronger. In essence, the power-generating systems of the heart function largely to power external systems.
- Heat: While overheating is only a mild concern for the Luminous Stream, it is nonetheless enough a factor that prolonged power draw and amplification under intense conditions can result in a measure of discomfort for the host as their body temperature increases. In order to stave this off, the host is typically immersed in a heat-dissipating liquid solution when such conditions are anticipated, typically while working to power starships and other demanding platforms, in order to keep them cool.
- Mechu-deru: Often an unspoken weakness of complicated and advanced technologies, the Luminous Stream is vulnerable to the dark sorceries of Mechu-deru and other technology corrupting powers. As such, a skilled practitioner of such arts can quickly disable the heart, provided that they have a direct line of sight to the host.
Intended as the central piece of an unspecified future project, the FAE/C-02.0 “Luminous Stream” Crystal Focus Heart represents the foremost application of the Elysian Focus Crystal, taking advantage of the crystal’s unique qualities to create a device that is capable of turning a trained Force-sensitive sapient into a “living reactor”. While the heart can be installed in a non-Force-sensitive host, such individuals are unable to channel the Force through the heart’s Elysian Focus Crystal to amplify the crystal’s energy output, thereby rendering the Luminous Stream little more than a cybernetic heart with an exotic reactor.
In implanting the Elysian Focus Crystal into a cybernetic heart, the host can attain a higher degree of attunement to the crystal, further enhancing their ability to consciously channel the Force through the crystal. However, in utilizing the Force to harness the crystal’s energy, the host is still subject to the limitations of stamina and Force reservoirs, in accordance with their power as a Force wielder.
Nevertheless, the Luminous Stream has the potential to act as an extremely powerful engine of a Force-sensitive, sapient reactor, allowing for a unique and highly effective alternative to standard starship power sources.
