Faded

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Well that was a dead-end then. Allyson had already noticed the lack of entrance, but neither of them seemed too disheartened by it. Kaili looked at her love and was about to comment on the whole ‘research on underground tunnels’ when she had one made for her. Perhaps not the one she was expecting but a smile spread on her lips regardless. They both began to touch against the cold surface of the bunker wall in an attempt to find an opening. There was something, but it didn’t seem very strong. Faint, set for power saving, perhaps.

Kaili frowned and parted from the wall. She could have amped it all up herself, but there was a far more better and encouraging idea.

… Let Allyson do it.

“Well, if you sense something, why don’t you go ahead and boost the signal?” Kaili grinned. “I showed you how.”

“... Or maybe you’re saying that you are too tired for all this?” She tried another playful taunt. “Maybe we should just head back, mission successful.”

“Nah, I believe in you.” Kaili gave an encouraging nod. “Go ahead. Please.”

Allyson looked at her would be Master with a confused look. Usually Kaili relished in the moment where she could show off, why was now any different? The Corellian showered her disapproval of the matter with a frown on her face as she stared at the Borleian woman. This was an endeavor that she didn’t know if she could really do, honestly it felt outside of her realm of expertise. Sighing softly, somewhat defeated, Allyson turned to the bunker and placed her hand on it.

“I really don’t think I can do this Kaili.” Allyson knew if she put enough effort into it, she could accomplish the feat, but that meant she had to put effort into it. Ships came easy, but random old bunkers – not so much. They spoke a different language, one that Allyson had to really focus on when deciphering it. So yes, even if she didn’t admit to it – she was exhausted from their activities earlier. Kaili had a lot of energy and craved so much – Allyson had to deliver, she could never leave the blonde unsatisfied.

“Maybe I am tired, you’re a succubus.” Allyson looked over her shoulder and stuck her tongue out. It was her way of agreeing with Kaili on her being tired. It was time to do something and get them into the bunker. Allyson closed her eyes and shut out the world around her. Her mind opened and the sounds of machines filled it, the energy she felt from the bunker was enhanced by the Force and it was one of the rare occurrences that this happened. Beyond focusing and beyond machines she never felt the Force as an entity.

Frowning, Allyson poured her energy into the machine, attempting to force it from his hibernation state. If they had it fully turned on they would be able to possibly access a hidden door if there was one. Pushing every ounce of her energy she felt the sound of life get louder in the back of her head. The master begged the differ. She knew that Allyson had this but only told herself that she didn’t. One day, and Kaili hoped it wouldn’t ever come, there would be a time to come when Allyson needed the practice she’d put in here today. The ability to seep into a machine and power it up was one of the more intermediate skills that Kaili picked up on her way up Technomancer Avenue, and she’d be damned if she didn’t encourage Allyson to at the very least give it a shot. A smile spread on her lips at the comments about how she couldn’t do it or that Kaili actually had drained her lover of all that energy.

She knew that Allyson could do this, and she also knew that she had been somewhat draining on the Corellian’s energy reserves. Which… To then just pour it into a machine…

Kaili raised her hand with closed eyes and let herself into the machine. Allyson would feel it, the way the energy levels seemed to go from a steady crawl upwards to an outright sprint. The area that surrounded them began to buzz with life as the lights came on with a few bangs and snaps. There were degradation all over, of course, some lights had long since broken down irreparably, but at least some of them worked.

An apologetic look set at Allyson as Kaili realized she had taken over once again.

She wasn’t much of a teacher. Pleasure had always gone before anything else in this duo.

“Sorry.” She mouthed as the wall before them seemed to roar to life. Kaili jumped in shock and took a few steps to distance herself from it. Hinges that had remained unmoving for centuries whined in pain as the rust that had eaten away at it made itself felt.

Kaili frowned. It was an undeserving end for such a construct. It had served its purpose beyond the timespan it was most likely intended for.

“Well, I guess that was the entrance all along.” Kaili chuckled most awkward. “You wanna go first or should I?”

There was no arguing, really. Kaili went in first.

Allyson felt the help and welcomed it. She wasn’t good at this yet, but she understood the process and it would provide a base for any future endeavors, like fuel a space station so that the life support stabilizes and allows her comrades to escape. The power was alive and she could pull away from the bunker. They found the door which to both of their surprise was quite easy to find once the thing was fully operational. “Not very quiet about things was this technomancer eh?” Allyson needed to make a jab, so she did. “Kind of like one I know.” Kaili was very good at her craft and she made sure people knew about it.

Narrowing her eyes, Allyson shook her head as she watched Kaili step into the bunker first. “Why would you ask…if you were--- never mind I’ll never understand you Kay.” Allyson shook her head once more and followed the girl into the bunker. A thought crossed her mind about closing the bunker, but she figured they should wait until they’ve assessed the area and call it safe. Allyson looked around, trying to sense anything mechanical that would endanger them, then she looked towards her partner and nodded. “You know me and the Force – so can you pick up anything with it that is looking to kill us?”

Grinning, Allyson made another joke to help keep the mood light. “I’d like to not die before I could get that steak you owe me.” [member="Kaili Talith"]

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Discretion wasn’t something Kaili exercised all that much, it was true. The glance and jab that Allyson fired in her direction forced her to scrunch her nose in bitter agreement of what she was saying. Kaili often tried to stealth and reason her way into conflict, but more often than not she ended up being a part of the team caused explosions. A lopsided grin forced itself on Kaili’s lips as she stepped in. It was fair to assume Allyson wouldn’t ever really get the blonde, but that was part of the charm, wasn’t it?

She turned around to face Allyson, grin lasting as she began to walk backwards further into the cold duracrete and steel bunker.

“Don’t worry, I am not letting you die anytime soon.” She chuckled and turned back around. “I doubt anyone could live up to the standards you’ve set at this point.”

“... As in, you know, in b- you-...” No, the ‘talk’ still didn’t come naturally to her. “You know what I mean.”

Physically proficient didn’t necessarily translate into verbally proficient.

“I don’t sense anything right now, there could be something up ahead though. Keep your eyes and ears peeled.” Most would say something about the force too, but to be honest Kaili had always relied on her own senses more than the force.

The two partners continued down the hall, and....

“... Another dead-end.” Kaili sighed. “Really?”

Her eyes glanced over at Allyson with a more encouraging perk of her brow. “Really?”

In truth she knew that there was something nearby, a switch, but she wanted Allyson to be the one to find it. This was how you learned, by doing something practical, and Kaili had more oft than not neglected that aspect of Allyson’s apprenticeship. Well, if ever there was a time to restart now would have been it.

“Have a look around, would you?”

Allyson gave Kaili a blank stare. What had gotten into the Borleian woman suddenly? There was an odd sense of teaching going on here and Allyson didn’t know if she liked it. Allyson knew of course that she was considered Kaili’s apprentice on the matter of Technomancy, but the girl rarely taught and just explained what she was doing. It was a good thing that Allyson was a quick study and could figure things out by the small lectures. The blank stare faded as she sighed and rubbed the back of her neck.

“You sure right now is a good time to play teacher? I mean if I knew you were going to do this I would have worn my old academy uniform.” Allyson stuck out her tongue and ran her hand against the walls of the so called dead end. Kaili had seen the photos of a slightly younger Allyson in her school uniform. It was a typical pleated skirt, knee high socks and a slimming blazer with a collared shirt. Allyson of course hated it, but she didn’t disagree when people told her she pulled it off. The Corellian still had it, mostly for keep sake – she still fit in it as well, so that was always an option if she felt like teasing the other woman.

“Okay, Master Talith…I’m getting something – its faint like before though. Kark, I thought by fueling it the first time the whole system would come back. Maybe everything is set up on different programs and has its own fail safes or whatever.”

Frowning, Allyson was already tired from before and from her activates with Kaili. Still, her master wanted her to learn and do. So, like before – Allyson placed her hands on the panel she had found and forced the Force to bring the system back online with a spark of life. [member="Kaili Talith"]

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Oh, of course she was as surprised as Kaili was that now was the time to start practice, but if now wasn’t the time then when would it be? Allyson was Kaili’s apprentice, and as far as actually tutoring her apprentice went Kaili had been neglecting it in favor of more simple exercise. Exercise being physical innovation and a degree of agile development. While Allyson hadn’t seen Master Talith in a long while, outside of that one time they both agreed to never speak of again, she had gotten more secondhand practice than anything else. It was Kaili’s fault, really. The Corellian woman drove her mad like that, and the promise of a schoolgirl uniform, well...

“That a threat or a promise, Miss Locke?” Kaili felt a fang dig into her lower lip again at the thought. “I wouldn’t mind either.”

Eyes glanced at the way she spread her fingers against the wall and leaned in concentration. There was no denying that the Corellian had it, and even if she didn’t it mattered little. The imaginary visual of Allyson in an outfit ever too tight didn’t help.

“Okay, Master Talith… I’m getting something.”

“Yeah you are-” Kaili cleared her throat and shook herself out of her daydream. “I mean, uh, good. Good job. I suspect you are right as well.”

“Perhaps it’s a security mechanism, or perhaps they didn’t expect the other technomancers to arrive on the scene.” Hand moved up to cover her mouth in contemplation. “Or perhaps that is exactly what they expected.”

Kaili reached in to the circuitry and let the force highlight a few of the points for Allyson. “This is the switch you are looking for.” She said and let Allyson flick the switch. “These two are for the alarm,” She highlighted a new one, “And this is a dud. I suspect the ravages of time has broken it.”

“Either way, I sense something on the other end, but I can’t tell what it is.” Kaili frowned. “Be careful.”

Nodding, she accepted the help from Kaili. She knew the woman wouldn’t be able to hold back long enough to let Allyson figure this out. Which was a good thing, because they might have gotten locked in the bunker for the rest of their lives. Chuckling softly, Allyson tried not to think on such a horrible thought. Her hands pulled away after giving enough life to the system to open the door that had seemed to be a dead end. There was nothing down the long corridor, well nothing that Allyson could see. It was an odd phenomenon or just a luck of her genes, she had pretty decent vison in the dark – this allowed her to rely on senses without the aid of the Force or a light source.

Alas this place was super dark. Groaning Allyson tried to push the Force outwards to try and sense what Kaili was picking up. As usual, nothing happened. She gave up trying and pulled out one of her blasters and removed the safety. The blaster pointed to the dark abyss and she stepped forward without caution. “There’s nothing here Kaili, I don’t see anything come on – keep up and don’t get lost” Allyson’s pace quickened. The sooner they made it to the end of the tunnel or hallway the faster she was going to be able to find another panel.

Which if they found another panel, maybe there was a way to find a light source to illuminate this hunk of junk. Pausing, Allyson looked back to see the silhouette of her girlfriend. “As for the outfit, if you’re good maybe when we get back I’ll put it on for you? How’s that?” [member="Kaili Talith"]

[member="Allyson Locke"]

With luck Allyson would remember the signals of the switches that Kaili had shown her and memorized them for later reference. That was essentially what the master did when she studied and observed new items. Memorizing blueprints for a structure was great, but it wasn’t very convenient. A blueprint could be changed to throw you off-guard, but that was not an issue if you focused less on memorizing the way it was but rather the things that made it what it was. The switches, the signals, the buttons and controls. The quickest way to dismantle a gun was to tear at its seams. A gun without a trigger mechanism was safer than a gun which had merely gotten its safety turned off.

This was where Kaili had once hoped it would lead to, the explanation of her mindset and method of attack, but fate would seem to have lead it towards something else entirely. Not that she was complaining. In many ways it was Allyson who had ended up the ‘tutor’ in this relationship. Even if said tutoring was conducted during more indirect lessons in a sense. They had both certainly showed each other something new in a more direct manner. Though what that meant to them was still something that was somewhat individual.

Allyson had shown Kaili that she was more interested in human interaction, for one.

Hopefully Kaili had shown Allyson the importance of stability.

There was so much more, but in the current situation it mattered very little. Kaili nodded in the dark, keeping her eyes and ears peeled to the sights and sounds. There wasn’t much to really boast about seeing or hearing other than the fact that just like Allyson, Kaili had some pretty keen senses of her own. The force alerted of danger and Kaili reached out to grab it with no success. Behind them smashed a set of bars in the dark. It rose from the floor and smashed against the wall as duracrete shards splintered across the room. Another joined in, as did another, and another and they would keep rising from the floor at increasingly shorter intervals.

“Allyson.” Kaili called out for her girlfriend. “Run!”

The master’s mind grasped at whatever light sources she could find and blasted them to full. It exposed the segmented floors that went all the way over to a small doorway at the very end of the corridor. Kaili reached out mid-sprint to open it up. The floor started to catch up with her. Kaili didn’t look back, she couldn’t afford it. With the force at her side she sped herself up and grabbed Allyson in a hurry. The floor still bit for her heels with narrow misses and the panic grew.

They were so close.

The floor began to shift under Kaili’s heel.

She threw herself and Allyson through the door and shut it behind them. The bangs stopped and the bunker went quiet. Kaili could hear the sound of her own heart pounding against her chest in fear until she rolled around on her back to heave for air. The stale bunker air was heavy with dust at this point. The room they had entered had surprisingly bright lights for its age. Kaili remained on the floor staring at the ceiling.

“You okay?” She said, rolling her head to look at Allyson. “I told you I felt something.”

And now they found themselves at a three-way. Three doors separated the two women from their goal. They had seen the cartoons as children, or horror movies as adults, they knew this was not a good omen. But Kaili would not notice where they were just yet. Her energy reserves had taken a hit as well. This was as good of a time as any to catch their breath again.

… Hopefully.

Allyson ran when Kaili shouted towards her. It was a good thing that the blonde had reacted so quickly and used the Force to catch up to Allyson. If it wasn’t for the tackle, then Allyson probably would have been skewered on the trap. Allyson did her best to catch her breath, it wasn’t the first time that she had ran for her life down a long hallway. Looking around she spotted all the doors and a sickening feeling pitted in her stomach. This wasn’t a good situation and she somewhat regretted continuing down this path. What in the Force was Kaili thinking when she decided to find this stuff?

Kaili addressed her and Allyson nodded. Falling back, she laid there for just a minute, there was something exhilarating when you avoided death and she could feel her heart racing. “Jeez Kaili…” the Corellian inhaled deeply and shook her head. “You seem to always find the best places to check out – sometimes I wonder if you’re trying to kill me. First the building and the mobsters or whatever they were…and now a bunker that is trying to eat us.” Sitting up, Allyson laughed and then kissed the Borleian girl on the cheek. “I’m fine, are you okay?”

Maybe Allyson should have heeded the warning that Kaili had given her. Though, if she hadn’t marched forwards so quickly, she would have been farther behind and once again killed by the trap. Swallowing hard, Allyson refocused on the three doors. “So, three doors…I suspect two are going to kill us and the third has the prize” Pondering a bit more, she sighed heavily. She was tired, but now wasn’t the time to stop moving. “We could split up…but it’s probably safer to stay together. Is there any way you could use the force to see into the rooms before we open them?”

She was always amazed by Kaili’s cleverness, she hoped that it would keep them alive in this hellhole. It was in this small moment that Allyson caught herself staring at Kaili. There was beauty about the girl, one that she saw when she first entered the droid shop. The thoughtfulness in her eyes and the intensity that burned behind them. She had awakened something inside of Allyson, something that had kept her grounded for so long. It wasn't something that was utterly terrible, Allyson would give up anything to be near Kaili and she had done that. She was no longer an active Rogue, she had joined the SIS to make sure that she was home more often than not. Allyson in this moment realized that her life revolved around Kaili and it was the first time she understood what her mother would tell her. There is always a light that guided the wayward home, the thought made the young Corellian smile - Kaili was her light. Shaking her head, she snapped out of her daydream and looked back towards the doors.

"So what do you say Kay?" [member="Kaili Talith"]

[member="Allyson Locke"]

The heaving stilled to the point where Kaili simply remained on her back staring at the lights in the ceiling above. She was lucky this time, but the thought of Allyson having done this on her own brought no small amount of discomfort. There was a brief image of the Corellian’s lifeless body being impaled against the ceiling on the other end of the door but it was quickly swept away at the touch of lips against Kaili’s cheek.

The girl swallowed the fear and nodded her head on the ground. “Yeah.” She whispered under her breath and sat up. “I’m just glad we made it.” A heavy hand swept against her forehead to wipe away the sweat. For a second she felt her eyes close and her entire body slump into its grasp before she caught herself. She needed a rest too, or a boost of energy. Regret at the two women’s earlier ‘encounter’ started to set in as she rose to her feet to look at the three doors placed before them. None of them felt any more obvious than the others as to which one to pick. One of them looked a bit more worn than the others, one of them looked almost unused and the third looked damaged beyond repair.

Kaili approached the one that looked damaged and sure enough it would seem time had torn it apart.

“Not this one.” She said and pointed at it. Head turned to look at the other two. The one that was worn would logically be the one that the most people had used. Assuming the ancient technomancer had any followers. Which in the end was also the question. Kaili’s research had only scraped at the surface of the technomancer’s identity and past. There was mention of them having existed, but there were no notes on their personality, their allegiances or even exactly how powerful they were.

At this point it was all up in the air exactly what it was that Kaili and Allyson would find at the end of this trail. This was, after all, a safehouse. Not their main base of operations. Something told Kaili that one would be considerably taller, and probably have better security than a set of traps.

“I don’t know which of these two it is.” Kaili looked over at Allyson. “Sure hope it’s not the one that is broken.”

“Do we take the slightly worn path, or the one that seems unused?”

“I sense danger in both.” Kaili nodded and turned to look at Allyson in full, the subtle sound of crackling electricity coming from one of the doors.

Allyson watched Kaili examine the doors. She didn’t know if this bad feeling she was having in her stomach was because of the Force or if she was just unsure of what was going on. None of this made sense, if this wasn’t their base of operations why take so many precautions to keep people out? The Corellian’s frown remained on her face as she stood and continued to watch. There was something more to this place than what met the eye. Safe holds had precautions, but nothing like this – they were mostly met with heavy armor plates and the like – not booby traps.

Speaking of booby traps, the top [member="Kaili Talith"] wore cried out for disarming. “Eh?” Allyson snapped out of her day dream. A hand on her chin she looked at the three doors then back at Kaili. “Well obviously the one that’s utterly destroyed isn’t going to be the way. Seems there were others before us that had gotten this far.” Looking at the other two one was completely untouched and the other showed wear and tear. Her frown continued to remain as she thought. “I’m not good at these sorts of things. My mind is just telling me to shoot both down and choose from there.” Walking up to the first door, the one that had shown some damage, Allyson stared at it.

“The damage could be from use over the years, or it could be damage from someone opening it and finding that the danger you feel is something that could kill us.” Allyson continued to think, the more she focused on the puzzle the more her face showed the strain – turning a slight red as she seemed to forget how to breath. “Yet the undamaged one could be the one that is the right choice, because it was easy to open – so why try and damage it?” A groan and Allyson suddenly began to dig in her pocket. “Let’s leave it to the fates, shall we?” In her hand was a red die, each side counting upward to the number 6.

“Let’s hope my good ol Corellian luck plays its hand here.” Allyson knelt and prepared to roll the die. “Odd number we take door number one which is the one that is slightly worn and even number we take the uh what did you call it…” pondering Allyson remembered, “…the path less taken.” The die fell from her hand and rolled against the ground a short distance. “Ah a 1. So, looks like we are taking the worn door.” Standing, she gathered the die and pocketed it. “Well break it down Kay.”

A game of chance to determine their fate. Something run ever so familiar with it to Kaili but she couldn’t quite put her finger on the reason why. Perhaps it was because in the end their whole relationship was built on it. Had Kaili not said yes when Allyson asked her out that day there was no doubt that her life would have been widely different, and most likely not for the better either. They had both helped each other out of a bad time in their lives when both were ridden with survivor’s guilt. At this point the only guilt that circled through Kaili’s mind was how much time she demanded of Allyson despite her schedule and SIS training.

Fingers touched against the chosen door to force it open. A deep sigh of exhaustion parted Kaili’s lips. She was wearing herself out trying to pass herself off as more awake than she actually was. On her end it was a game of not wanting to appear weak or worn out before Allyson and risk dissuading her, but on the outside there was very little doubt that Kaili was in fact running herself ragged at this point.

“We’re through.” She spoke under her breath.

The door swept open and Kaili stumbled her way in before her back straightened with forced vigor. The sound of electricity started to buzz in full. This was no trap. It was a generator room. It was damaged and in need of repair but it was there. A small overgrowth had taken over the reins of this place. A crack in the ceiling dripped water into the room along with a small spot of light. Fresh air seemed to fill this room in particular, but that wasn’t saying much. The air was still dank and the room reeked of ancient abandoned bunker.

“I think this here is our issue.” Kaili muttered under her breath once more. “Broken—” Her eyes closed. “Broken generator.”

“We need to fix-”

“Fix it…”

“... Allyson.”

Allyson followed Kaili and stared down the hallway. She had regained some of her strength back, but still she could really use a nap. The trip here was already long and to top off Kaili had an insatiable desire for her. Chuckling softly, Allyson made some notes on some of the things she’d like to do to the blonde to make her pay for the struggle they were pushing through. Thinking of going down that path again, made Allyson even more tired. Were they getting old? She wrinkled her nose at the thought.

Watching Kaili, Allyson could feel the other woman’s strength dwindling. Despite her efforts to hide it, Allyson was in tune with the experienced Technomancer. There wasn’t much she could hide from her, which always made Allyson chuckle. Why hide something when in the end you couldn’t? Sighing softly, Allyson gathered what strength she had and moved towards the generator. It seemed simple and straight forward. Eyes making note of the water, she figured it was far enough from the generator so it wouldn’t cause a lot of problems for her. She moved and placed a hand on Kaili’s shoulder. “Rest for a bit I’ll take care of this.”

Light on her feet, Allyson stepped through and down towards the generator. It didn’t take her long to find and reach it, though when she arrived she realized how damaged it was. Frowning, she set to work clearing out any vegetation. Allyson ran her hands over the box a few times brushing aside leaves and stray vines. The cleaning was easy, but now came the hard part. She could sense the electromagnetic waves that emitted from the generator. This meant it was at least still alive for the most part. “Alright little buddy, lets get your working okay?” She placed her hand onto the panel and inhaled deeply. Her mind entered a meditative state sensing and identifying each component in the generator. Fueling it with the Force she recharged its internal fuse and battery.

It took a few minutes and a couple of odd noises from Allyson, but soon the lights started to flicker and the bunker was returning to life. The generator made a happy noise as it took well to the recharging of its parts. Allyson on the other hand was giving everything she had to the generator. When the capacity was nearly full she felt her hand slip and she leaned against the generator. She was finished and there was nothing left for her to give to the little generator that could. They weren’t getting old as much as just reckless with their own energy at this point. Had they been careful perhaps they would have been able to avoid the death trap outside the very room they rested in, but it mattered little what they had or hadn’t done at this point. They were alive, they had found the generator and in the end that was the only thing that mattered. Kaili let herself ease down on the ground with the reassuring touch of Allyson’s hand on her shoulder.

“Thank you.” Kaili sighed in relief as her rump touched against the top of a small flight of stairs leading down to the generator. “I believe in you.” Her eyelids weighed heavy, her head planted itself against the cold surface of a nearby pillar. “You got this.”

Kaili yawned before the world turned dark and she was asleep, even if just for a few minutes. There was never any doubt that Kaili wouldn’t be able to rest all that long, but for all intents and purposes Kaili hadn’t really thought it would either. The little generator that could sparked to life along with the rest of the room. Eyelids thrust wide open in surprise for a moment and a drowsy hand moved up to wipe at her face in order to snap her out of her tired state. It didn’t work, but there was a fix here. Allyson wouldn’t like it, but there was a fix.

With her other hand on her knee for support Kaili rose to the floor and approached the generator as it ticked with life.

“Good job.” She praised Allyson with a half-groan, half-compliment. “However, you missed this spot.”

A grin spread on the blonde’s lips as she opened the panel at the back to expose the insides. The blonde granted Allyson one quick yet oddly devious look before she covered herself in a vague blue aura. Both hands thrust into the insides of the generator itself to touch its motor. As a joke Kaili let out a feigned scream of agony that slowly set into a laugh. Hands withdrew from the machine as it slowly reverted to the state from before Allyson had fixed it. The weak blue light turned into a bright sheen of energy and Kaili proceeded to absorb it into her being in order to let the aura that surrounded her bring her back to speed.

Hand extended for Allyson with the energy of the generator. It wasn’t the most conventional way of resting, but Kaili had done it once or twice before. Soft skin latched on to Allyson’s arm as a bright shine began to pour from her. A sense of ease would seep into her very being to revitalize the Corellian where she stood and get rid of the fatigue. It was what Kaili had learned to do when working electronics as a child. To turn electricity into the power was an easy way to keep on going, to keep on using the force and in some cases stay up all night. But that was just it, it only happened during exposure to a great amount of such currents and Kaili was smart enough to not actively seek it out. The aura faded away, the slight tingling stopped until all that remained was Kaili and a wide grin that threatened to tear itself from the blonde girl’s face.

“I am sorry,” Kaili snickered and pulled Allyson in for a hug. “I couldn’t help myself. You should have seen your face.”

Arm extended for the generator that sprung back to life again. Allyson had done all she could before and Kaili was not able to do much better. The machine was busted after all.

“Come on, we should check what the other room was all about.”

Allyson shifted quickly seeing that Kaili was freaking out. Worry spread along her face and she watched as the blue light was suddenly absorbed by the Technomancer. Frowning slightly, Allyson watched as Kaili used the blue light and helped Allyson absorb it. There was a feeling of revitalization that coursed through her and Allyson couldn’t help but sigh with relief. It was an odd sensation, but she welcomed it. Making a note, she would have to pester the Master to teach her that someday. For now, the hug was welcomed and the apology accepted for the most part.

“You scared me, mostly because I don’t know how to get out of here and…” peering over the frame of her girlfriend, she raised an eyebrow and chuckled. “You’d be super heavy to carry out of here, would be rude if I left your body here to rot. You wouldn’t match the décor” A smirk and Allyson continued to follow Kaili out of the generator room. Hopefully for now, they would have enough energy to spend without dragging like they were before.

Force forbid they run into another hallway with those stupid pillars. Shuddering at the thought Allyson moved towards the door unused. “So can you sense anything in there – you felt danger in both, but the other seemed to just be a busted generator.” [member="Kaili Talith"]

[member="Allyson Locke"]

Kaili offered one last quick peck on Allyson’s cheek for an apology as they set their way back to the hallway with the seemingly unused door. Kaili let her fingers touch against its metal surface. A quick look fired back at Allyson to hear what she was saying. The danger Kaili had sensed before was little more than a broken generator which wasn’t a danger to people like Allyson and Kaili, but for others there was no doubt that the danger was quite real. The master looked to the ground for a moment before she closed her eyes to look into whatever was on the other end of the door.

There was nothing now. The woman perked her brow. That was odd.

“I don’t sense anything anymore.” Kaili turned her head to look at Allyson. “That’s… Weird. Keep your eyes and ears peeled. Again.”

Last time she had said that they almost ended up impaled in the ceiling. Whether or not the same would be true in this room or not wasn’t something Kaili really cared to contemplate. Instead she let in a deep breath and focused on the door to get it open. It might have looked clean, but the insides still reeked of a lack in maintenance. What once would have hissed would now shriek as it opened to expose whatever was on the other end. There were several bright lights and Kaili raised her arm to shield her eyes from the brightness.

First thing the two women would notice was that the short hallway before them seemed to have working lights that were surprisingly bright for their age and at the very other end there was an elevator. Once-sterile white walls were now stained from age and decay. Two bumps in the roof boasted of turrets and Kaili gently patted towards Allyson in an attempt to get her attention. Without saying a word she pointed at the defenses in place. Someone wanted to keep people out even after the death trap that no mere mortal would have passed through when triggered.

The idea that the former owner of this place had been paranoid wasn’t really up for debate anymore. There was little doubt in Kaili’s mind that this was the work of someone who knew exactly what they were doing and had no intentions of letting those they didn’t trust in.

“Watch for activators or switches for the turrets, I sense that they are awake.” Kaili whispered, just in case they were sound triggered. “Might be worthwhile to investigate the other door before we step through here, I suspect it might be a one-way trip.”

“That is to say if the other door is even able to be opened.” Kaili continued in hushed words and looked at the other door. “Might be some sort of security room? I don’t know, I designed ships. Not bunkers.”

“What do you say?”

Allyson rubbed her nose as she examined the room in front of them. The turrets were alive, but why would they be in the room and not outside. Wouldn’t someone want to make sure that whoever would be breaking in would be destroyed before entering the bunker. Odd way to design a place like this, but Allyson couldn’t complain much. Kaili wanted her to decide and the young Corellian scoffed and then shook her head.

“Thought you were the mastermind and the master.” Allyson stuck her tongue out and continued to examine the room. “Personally, I’m more interested in this room than the other one. Knowing you, you’ve probably set up another joke trap for me.” Trying her best to focus on the turrets she wanted to try and figure out where their power supply was coming from along with what and how they could trigger them. Her lips pressed together as she focused her hardest feeling the way the currents moved around the turrets within the force.

It took a few minutes but she cursed under her breath. “From the feel of it, they’re solar powered along with those bright lights. I have a feeling those are bright like that for a reason. Also…from what I sense – they’re pretty new compared to everything.” Realizing what she was saying Allyson pulled her full attention away from the room. “Kay, I don’t think we’re the only ones here…or the only ones that have been down here since the original owner… Allyson knew what she was suggesting. It was their first date all over again. Inhaling deeply, she knew Kaili had something she didn’t.

The girl could sense people and life forms that weren’t machines. “You feel any one in there or around us?! I can’t do that…if you do…let me know where they are – maybe I can go in guns blazing and take out the turrets before they take us out.”

Perhaps the turrets were a last line of defense. Regardless, this had a bad familiarity to it. At least Allyson was getting the same readings as Kaili, and that in itself was no less disheartening. If someone was here it meant that they could be aware that the two women were as well, and if they knew they could be toying with them. Perhaps this entire hallway was just a front and this place was no less inhabited as it was all those years ago. Maybe they had stayed or maybe they hadn’t, regardless something felt off and Kaili would extend herself at Allyson’s command to seek lifeforms in the area. There was nothing and Kaili shook her head to signal it.

“Nothing.” She exhaled. “And no, there are no more traps from here. I’m sorry.”

Her lip twitched into a smile, just barely keeping themselves from bombarding Allyson with yet another salvo of kisses. It wasn’t the time, not now. If they were lucky this would have been a safehouse, and if they were even luckier that meant it was abandoned. With luck being a moment of privacy in a place that could be made to be theirs, and the privacy meaning… Well, that one was rather obvious.

Kaili shifted her mind back to the situation, shaking herself out of her stare.

“I think guns blazing could bring about attention that we do not really want?” She formulated her statement as a question for whatever reason. “I think we should deactivate the turrets and then approach the elevator at the end, slowly to avoid any repeat of what happened in that other hallway back there.” Thumb went over the blonde’s shoulders. “Don’t you think?”

Her teeth exposed in a brief lopsided grin and stare to the side before they set on Allyson’s body again with a soft chuckle.

“This reminds me of something else, you know…” Her voice trailing off. “Extreme danger…”

“Unknown danger, actually…”

“No trees though.”

“Just you and me…”

NO! Head shaken once more to get herself out of it. “Feth. Sorry. Head. Game. Mind. Something. We should go.”

Allyson chuckled under her breath as she remembered being launched into a tree during the last time they explored some abandoned or supposedly abandoned building. It was probably the first-time Allyson had realized what she was getting herself into with @Kaili Taith. The girl was still overly competitive and Allyson still didn’t learn her lesson from that day.

“No, we should stay…we can figure this out.” Allyson put her hand to the wall panel, she needed to find some sort of power source or wiring where she could use the force to tap into the system of the turrets. Allyson could feel where Kaili’s head was at, of course through their force connection, Allyson could read whatever Kaili was feeling. Right now, she was being quite distracting – maybe Allyson shouldn’t have proposed earlier before their mission. A grin spread across her face though, as she felt the need to feed Kaili’s daydream even more. She followed against the wall with her finger tips, down towards the flooring. She continued to move against the wall quietly, till she was on her hands and knees.

“A panel seems to be under the flooring…where’s a handle…oh!” She pulled at a small latch and as she began to work with the electrical panel, she made sure Kaili was receiving a good view of the brunette’s bottom, in the tight Corellian bloodstripes. Allyson busied herself with the work and she glanced up towards Kaili from the corner of her eye. “Keep an eye out okay?”
