Factory 2.0 Naval Academy?

If I started something like that, in the hopes of bringing more people into the fleet scene and bringing about a more broad understanding of it with simplified methods, would anyone be interested in the sort of thing?

Reading the other Fleeting thread with the poll has made me wonder if all it needs is just a way for people to fleet without the tedium and complexities of actually managing an entire fleet in detail.

Our new templates have been simplified harder than a pre-expansion WoW nerf and now use a simple scale system, so why can't fleeting? Would you rather count all several dozen of your squadrons, your half dozen escorts, four carriers, one hundred and twenty ion cannons, hundred turbolaser batteries, three hundred and sixty thousand sailors and the planetary cannon on your flagship... or would you rather just say you used ships X and Y, firing # from one weapon group or another, on a simple scale?

I feel like a naval academy would be a great way to enlighten others to fleeting as well as take the difficulty out of it, but only if it actually appeals to people to make it worth the effort. :)

So would this be a factory to submit entire fleets for? Because it seems rather redundant when you can just say you have x of these, x of those, and x of them, and then just keep track of their scaled whatever, and go off of that.

That's exactly what I said lol. No, this has nothing to do with the factory, just the scale system of the new factory - that is, after all, what it was made for? Simplification to make it easier for a large demographic of people unused to such things?

I almost feel like fleeting is supposed to include a simplified scale, since the new ship templates include simplified scales.

Edit: I said Factory 2.0 because the new templates were called Factory 2.0. Just to clear up any future confusion.
