Faction Owner Vote!

Alright guys, sticking with the time line, we are presenting the official vote for faction owner. You have two options: [member="Darth Pyrrhus"] or [member="Vengeance"] . If the candidates would like to say anything, they can in this thread. Otherwise, please take the time to vote.

Rules are simple: you get 1 vote and your vote is public. So keep that in mind. Good luck to both candidates. This vote will last for a minimum of five days and will not exceed seven days. We doing this live!

Ok so this is what I would like to call my Declaration of Intent.

The question has been raised who are you and why should we give a feth whether you want to lead OS into the future or not.

So instead of answering that I am going to answer this question instead. Which is what would I do if I was in charge.

1. The OOC Elephant in the room.

Going back to Ord Mirit and extending into Balmorra and Contruum there have been situations of bad blood that plague the overall enjoyment of invasions. Some of it has been kept largely private but more than enough of it has spilled into the public arena to warrant a significant amount of attention.

Suggested solution:

My idea to solve this is during the period of cool down is to go on what I would like to call a good will tour writer to writer. To sit down with each Major Faction Owner and any Minor Faction Owners that wish it and hash out any issues that seem to turn Invasion OOC threads into rage fests. If we ignore it this is only going to get worse.

2. Some gaps in IC leadership.

For a good while now we have structure lists with a fair number of vacant or soon to be vacant spots. It has an unintended side effect of focusing effort on indidvidual sections of RP while leaving the rest to chance.

Suggested solution:

Fill the open voice positions and confirm the ones filled intend to keep those roles. We currently have 3 hands and I believe it should be raised equal to the number of voice positions. By extension have the Hands pick a sector and serve has "Co-Voice" for that sector.

3. The OS Parilament Debacle

This started as a great idea that I think people including myself were behind. However the excution went a little south.

My proposed solution is simply to do a little bit of a revamp to this. The main change being going back to the original idea of the Parilament positions being strictly filled by Non-Force Users. This will obviously be a work in progress and revamp that will take place over night.

4. The Military

The rank structure of the Military is one that has been a head scratcher for people both in and outside of the One Sith. More Specifically the Navy.

My proposal for the Military is this. The Warlord position will be disbanded. Sector War Fleets will no longer be Administrated by the Voices but by the Navy Commanding Officer through the Fleet Admirals. Sith Lords will still retain there own individual Fleets that will still operate outside of the larger Navy Command Structure. Administration wise the Navy CO will be answerable to the OS Parliment in true Imperial Fashion.

The Army...............well Isamu Baelor has been doing great things with the Army and I see no reason to change anything other than to simply say the Army is yours. Recruit, assign ranks, and deploy as you see fit. I see no reason for Faction Staff to influence those decisions. Basically it's not broke so it doesn't need fixing.

5. Dominions:

While dominions are going well I would still like to push towards a modification of how they are normally conducted.
Specifically in regards to objectives. I would ike to see at least four objectives. A Political Objective, a Fleeting objective, and Ground objective, and lastly keep a fourth do whatever objective.

For example in Atrisia if I am not mistaken. There was a speech before the Senate, an objective where Orbit was secured by the Navy, and some ground engagements.

The moves to ensure everyone has ample opportunity to contribute to every invasion with any character type they chose.

Now as we draw an end to my little speech I saw this in closing. These are my thoughts, my ideas, what I think would be good for the OS movign forward. Some of them will work, some of them are probably horrible ideas and I accept that. I am agreeable to the discussion of alternate ideas to my proposals. By the time they are implemented the details may change or the idea dropped all together and I am cool with that.

My vote went to Pyrrhus but I would like to voice some advice for the implementation of Vengeance into a seat of moderation within the OS staff. He has some good ideas to put to use, the right attitude and willingness to put effort in, and some fresh perspective that this faction desperately needs.
