Faction Interest

So i have been thinking about making a faction dedicated to Order and Good, but they will be diametrically opposed to the Jedi and Sith do to their age long religious war. The faction centers around Service and Duty and is a Totalitarian Style government but heavily accented by Socialism in so as much that all people are taken cared for and havea job etc. Personal Freedoms take a back seat to to the government but for the most part the people will be content and be treated fairly. The Force order will be a truly duty bound group who are actually bound by civilian law ( Lets face it jedi have a lot of leeway, they can ignore what they want, mind control people ( Obi Wan in AoTC) etc. They really are above the law) and are bound to Non-Force Commanders etc.

While I agree with the sentiment that sometimes jedi are given too much leeway I think that the other side, the jedi discipline and how hard they fight to stay true servants of the republic despite its corruption and downsides is a real rp challenge. Obi-wan had a master bordering on going rouge so he is perhaps bringing some of that rebel spirit along the ride.

But the idea is interesting and I certainly see where you are coming from on this. I just want to see it implemented inside the republic I think, but sometime down the road we should sit down and drink some tea... ;)

I think you're confusing characters with principles.

The Jedi Code is specific:

Honour the Law

One of the most important roles of the Jedi was to protect the peace and justice of the Republic, and so no Jedi was above the law. Jedi were expected to follow the law the same as they expected others to. Jedi were permitted to break laws, but only when it was required, and only if they were willing to suffer the consequences.

[member="Corvus Raaf"] Not the place or the time to be honest, and irrelevant to boot considering its propaganda to dredge up interest.

and ther eis nothing in the jedi code about honoring the law

[member="Corvus Raaf"] Yes i know they have broken down the "Following the code" stuff, and taken qoutes and such to kind of back that up but none of that is in the actual Jedi Code/Codes.

So again, not part of the code, You may want to have your facts straight before trying to create an argument. It always helps, even when trolling.

Bunker-level Normal
Wow, I've never seen [member="Corvus Raaf"] accused of trolling.

Don't forget that Star Wars Canon (and Legends) does not necessarily equal Chaos Canon. Corvus here is the Republic's Jedi Grandmaster, and has actually written out reference materials intended for Chaos players to reference. It's in the GR faction forums, under Jedi Archives, if you're so inclined to check out the site-specific canon.

But that's a huge tangent there, so back to your normal programming I guess.

So this has been counter productive so i am going to go ahead and remove this for now and ask that it be deleted/archived as its seemed to spawn unwanted drama
