Exodus--The Free Colonies pt 2

"There be many was to threaten freedom," James declared, his voice booming over the mic. There were dozens of people here; reporters, journalist, sightseers, celebrities, his constituents, those who had worked to get him in office. “Sometimes we be knowing it when we see it; the man who holds our rights, or the one who be keeping us held from where we want to go or what we want to do. Dictators steal our rights and our monies away.
“But the loss of freedom sometimes be coming in strange ways. The bully who keeps us from going to the park as a kid. The criminal who makes us fear to walk the streets. These be threats to our freedom as well. Even if we dun’t have someone enslaving us, we are threatened when another is enslaved. I promise ye that I will work to fight for freedom on every front we find. In space, on the land, on the seas we will fight them. And we will never stop fighting them. Not until every child knows their father will be coming home safe at night and every mother can sleep knowing her children know no fear.”

The words echoed through his head. When his predecessor had vanished into thin air he was elected in an emergency act. But now he wondered if he was the hero this group needed—or the villain that would bring them all down. His eyes roved over Annaj bellow him. There was much work to do, he thought, he would figure out who he was later.

The Lost Angel came down with a graceful landing in the corrupt planet’s capital. In his traditional leather jacket and pilot’s clothing he strode into the rest of the capital, appearing to be nothing more than another spacer. That was exactly what he needed them to think—for now. A of the corrupt police passed James. The spacer drew his heavy blaster pistol, turning on his heel and gunning one down where he stood. The other saw his partner go down to the ground, his eyes widening in shock. What had just happened? James allowed himself to be disarmed and captured. A few moments later he was tossed into a cell with several other dingy criminals who looked like they hadn’t seen the light of day in months—if not years. No judge, no jury, just a prison cell.

James stood, brushing himself off. Time to get to work.

OOC
A. The rescued prisoners from our previous thread, Genesis, delivered vital information. A mass genocide is being planned to wipe all non-humans off this world. We must facilitate their mass escape without arousing too much suspicion. Hurry, round up and execution in the streets start at noon.

B. A credit trail of drug trafficking from Xal 3 was traced back here, to the drug barons of Annaj. We must destroy the many drug plantations and uproot the drug barons here. How you chose to do so is up to you.

C. Investigate the banking crisis. Some of the numbers of the loans to Xal 3 do not add up--nor do the claims to relief. Find out what happened to these missing resources

D. Be a snowflake.

Have fun, lets go for 100 posts on this thread, if not more. Cheers!

OOC thread here.

NAME: Filius Stellarum
OBJECTIVE: B
POST: 1/100
EQUIPMENT: X-2 Shadowblade rifle and scope, X-1 Scorpion vibroblade, cybernetic eye, Avenging Angel gunship

The Avenging Angel touched down on a small public landing pad in the capital of Annaj, and Filius Stellarum walked down the ramp. A small droid trundled up to him, a computer screen showing a smiling face on top of a Treadwell-style body.

"Welcome to..." it started in a cheery voice.

"Stow it," Filius said, cutting the droid off and bouncing a credit chip off its screen head, "I don't have time for this garbage. Clean it, refuel it, then beat it."

"How rude!" the droid said as Filius walked off. Filius didn't look back. He didn't have time. He had some drug lords to take down. Filius rode a turbolift down from the landing pad, then melted immediately into the shadows of the city. He moved silently until he found a small police patrol. Knowing they would probably let slip some good information, Filius began to follow, keeping his head low and eyes down.

"Yeah, I totally got the guy," one of the group of four said, "He was all like 'What?!' when I slapped the cuff on him." The rest of the policemen chuckled. Filius mentally groaned. He may not be well-versed in what had happened, but he recognized embellishment when he heard it. Then he remembered that James Justice had been planning on coming to Annaj. Knowing spacers and scoundrels, it wasn't too much of a stretch to think that he had immediately clashed with the local authorities. Smiling to himself, Filius threw a grapple line to the top of a nearby building and, after locating what was pretty obviously the jail, began running across the rooftops towards the squat grey building. With a final leap he landed on the roof. Nobody saw him. He searched around and located an air vent.

Within moments Filius had made his way through the vents, laughing to himself about the pitiful security. This was easy as pie. He located the cells and jumped down right on top of a guard who made the mistake of standing beneath a vent.

"Knock knock," Filius said, taking the guard's keycard. He stood up and was faced with the grungy form of James Justice.

"How's it going boss?" Filius said, sliding the keycard and opening the door.

Gavin XIII

Sour Candy Sithspawn
Gavin could almost smell the scum on this planet. Annaj... He had to admit, he'd picked this job just for fun. Seemed like a good excuse to give his trigger finger some exercise, along with all the other muscles he usually used to throw people and things around. The disinterested look he gave the cops as he walked off the dinky little rental shuttle he'd taken for this trip should've told them something... Screwing with him was a bad, maybe even fatal, career move.

Clearly, the voice of self-preservation didn’t speak loudly enough. It wasn’t like the former mercenary was hiding at all. On the contrary, his signature red clothing and spiky blonde hair were quite obvious. If Gavin had been anything but what he was, these cops could have been looking at amazing promotions for catching a high-profile piece of slime like him. But he was a monster. Nothing else to it.

"Stop! Hands up and drop the gun on the floor, Thirteen." One of the officers, a strong-looking guy, roughly pushed the Gen'dai towards a police speeder. Gavin's only response was a sharp-toothed grin as he dropped his gun on the ground and dug his fingers into the metal of the vehicle. The cop cuffed him, then turned away, right as Gavin headbutted him with as much force as he could muster.

There was a nasty crunching sound, and the man dropped to the ground, concussed and bleeding. Gavin growled as he pulled the cuffs apart and picked the speeder up like a two-handed frisbee. "Who is frakking next?"

"Vanadis, stop chatting, we are on a stealth mission" "Aww but..." she received and elbow hit on the arm by Mara. The tracking of a toydarian junkie wasnt a big deal, as they could probably be two meters away and that guy wouldnt notice, because of how high he was. At this hour, he would probably go to an alley to buy his next fix. The girls were following the toydarian some feets away, to not alarm any dealer, while Garoth gave them news about the streets. Vanadis got her scythe lightsaber while Mara carried an sniper blaster and two wrist lightsaber, weapons well hidden in the clothes.

The mission was simple. Take down the chief of that drug mafia, destroy everything and, only if the credits werent burned in the process, end up being a more rich than he was.

After the dealer gave a bag full of something Garoth did not care and the toydarian leaving to his home for another night of screwing his life, the girls had to follow the man from twenty meters away, being silence as shadows "Think he is going give the money into those guys. We wait and then follow them" said Garoth seeing from the top with high tech binoculars at two guys in suits. He waited and waited for two hours, watching in any dangers were near Mara and Vanadis while they read some news on theirs holocron. The two guys stood up and walked down the street, probably into a headquarters or their home. If it was the first one, he would have to engage that place, if it was the second one, then Garoth wouldnt care about doing a little torture. This would be a long night for him.

Cadie Reese

Let's get this party started.
Objective C
Zee Bank!

Cadie leaned her thin form against the grimy building directly across from the Annaj First National Bank. Her long black trench coat matched the frayed hat that obscured her face from the pedestrians filling the streets. The twin pistols and knife she carried were obscured from prying eyes and that was just how she liked it. After everything that happened since she came on this diversion to the free colonies she had learned to never be too cautious.

Her job was to get intel on the banks and find out why things weren't adding up. Relief requests and loans were flying at Xal3 and it was her intention to find out why. Corrupt bankers were just pretentious pains in her ass as far as she was concerned, and more concerned about their money and status than anything else. That was something she could work with.

The mid morning lull in activity happened as she predicted which would give her the undivided attention of some poor sap. Time to get to work. With a sigh she pushed off the wall and made her way across the street to the bank.

Objective: B

Elaine had heard of the plan to destroy and remove some drug barons, Elaine had another plan though. She knew weapons could be made from these drugs, to help fight the sith. That made her want to change the minds of her colleges, sure run the drug barons out, but she wanted to keep the infrastructure. As if her Intel was correct, they made the raw ingredients for death sticks, and one of these was Ixetal cilona. This substance could knock out a force user ability to use the force, that in turn could help give an edge to anyone facing The One Sith. That was not something she was going to destroy, after all she had a duty to make weapons to help defeat them.

She waited outside as the others went in, she was going to take out those who ran. She had no love for those who used this as way to hurt the young, but she wanted to turn the product into something more useful for her.

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Objective: A

Kay arrived on a supply vessel. It seemed as though it was offloading supplies for the masses. But that was only partly true. Valuable intel from the rescued political prisoners revealed a dark plot to execute non humans. Today. And that didn't leave them much time.

A company of guards joined Kay as she started to unload the supplies, mainly foods, water, but also weapons hidden in bundles of clothes. If they were to stop this genocide then they needed to arm the targets as well as get some of them to safety.

With help, she started the whisperings to get the word out. Come here for supplies, for food, and for safety. Most importantly for safety.

But while that was all happening, soldiers working for the local Government had already begun to surround the city. It was only a matter of time before every exit was closed off.

OBJECTIVE: B
POST: 1
EQUIPMENT: Calang | Carbine | Pistol | Vibroknife

The intelligence coming from the rescued political prisoners was somewhat surprising to Audren. A roundup and destruction of all non-humans was appalling, that it was happening so soon was worrisome. It had apparently been in the planning stages for a while without rumor of it hitting the holonet, which meant it had been locked down tight. It stood to follow that either the full details of the plan hadn't been handed out to those who would undertake the executions - in which case there would likely be pockets of resistance inside the soldiers themselves - or everyone agreed with it which was all the more dangerous.

Other intelligence had filtered in too. Drug credits led back here, loan trails became foggy here...things were happening here. The round up was slotted to happen at noon local time; certain Free Colonies members were working that front. Others were headed to the drug plantations themselves to eradicate those problems. Some had the skills to examine the bank's records and were focusing on that front. For his part however, the Knight had plans. If those working to stop the slaughter failed to do so in time, he would act directly to stop any in his vicinity. None from the Colonies knew it, but there were several transports filled with Antarian Rangers waiting in hyperspace, waiting for his call. He hesitated to use Sanctum resources for this, but when it came to genocide there was no question.

In the meantime, he'd end the factories in the city.

The city itself was a source of cheap labor. Rustics moved in for a better life and ended up having difficulty finding a job, a way to support themselves. They slipped through the cracks and the factories got them for cheap or free. There were three of them that the Sephi knew about in the immediate area, possibly more. While others would eliminate the source of the drug components, he would end the manufacturing lines and distribution centers. He might be biting off more than he could chew; if that turned out to be the case, he'd just have to grab some more mouths to help.

Garoth whistled walking in the room. On the center were two business guys with bloody outfits and scratchs on their bodies "The girls waited outside. They dont like this kind of scene" thought grabbing an empty chair "Locations and names now" the first one, a normal black himan spit blood in direction of the Garoth's face, but it stomped with a simple force barrier.

With a quick movement a light was seen through the room "You wanna lose the other leg?" something was heard hitting the floor. The two of them looked to the floor with fear, then the two opened their eyes as big as they could.

Garoth leave the room with Mara and Vanadis standing outside on both sides of the main door "The factory is on the other district" said walking to the streets followed by his adopted childs "Duuude you need to chill and stop cutting things" said Vanadis putting his hands on the back neck doing herself some massage "I agree with her" said Mara helping her sister with the shoulder pain.

Garoth drove the AT-360 until reaching a factory and landing away from it to avoid detection "There are dozens of people from the Free Colonies here, lets see if we can get some back up" said broadcasting a safe signal to everyone close by.

Objective: A, rescue dem non-humans!
Allies: [member="Lady Kay"] [member="Stardust"]
Equipment: Lightsaber. bryar pistol. ranger armor.

Gray had heard about the dark plot to exterminate all of the non-humans on Annaj that had been discovered from the rescued political prisoners back on Xal 3. He had come to the planet with Kay and brought Stardust with him as well. He had his ranger armor on with his pistol strapped to his right leg and his light saber hilt hung next to it. He was ready for the fight to break out, but hoped they had everyone evacuated first or at the very least armed so they could defend themselves. He didn't like the idea of a genocide like this going on for any reason what so ever. He had plenty of friends who were non-humans and even the love of his life was one being a beautiful twi'lek woman. He didn't know what reason the government had for taking this action, but it clearly wasn't going to be a good one.

Gray carried out a crate of medical supplies from the ship and set it down with the other ones. He turned to Kay and said, " Alright, we need to get word out about what is happening fast. Do you have anything started to do this? Also I can distract the soldiers for awhile to buy us some time if you like, but it would be better for me to do it an hour before they start their plans. Oh and where are we taking all of these supplies?" He just waited for her to reply so he knew the next step. This mission was going to be lead by Kay since she had the most experience with these kind of matters. Well as far as he was concerned, that was what was going to happen.

Name: Dominik Borra
Objective: C
Equipment: Dual pistols,

Of all the things he felt like doing, tracing money wasn't the thing he wanted to do. He was smart, and was very good at tracing and tracking things, but James had some plans of his own... and wouldn't tell anybody about them for some reason. He wanted to help James out, but it seemed that wouldn't be his fate. He was at the Annaj First National Bank, and he walked up next to [member="Cadie Reese"]. She was also on the same mission. He was wearing a much more casual black leather jacket, with his two pistols holstered on the inside of his jacket. He looked up at the sky as they walked, seeming the part of a man just going to the bank. "How much you wanna bet on corrupt politicians?"

Objective: ???

James worked the kinks out of his neck as he looked to the other prisoners in the room, "Aaron? Ye in here?"

A Cerean took a bold step forward. He was dressed in rags, with his body looking not much better. He still stood strong, tall and defiant--as if he held an almost noble quality in him, "I am he."

The spacer took a step forward and offered his smile, "I am the Captain. How is ye brother?"

Aaron dipped his head slightly, "I am afraid the psychic link is quite worse for the wear. I am glad you received my message, Captain, I was beginning to get concerned we had a misunderstanding."

James laughed, shaking his head, "Mate dun't worry, we are going to be quite fine. But I have bad news, they accelerated things. The date for the progrom is today."

Aaron wilted slightly, "Are you sure?"

James nodded, "Quite, but dun't worry, we are going to stop it."

Aaron waved his hand around, "Look around, if you see a way out, be my guest. Its not as if humans are falling from the sky offering to open our cell door."

Suddenly, [member="Filius Stellarum"] made his entrance, opening the cell door. James smiled, "I think its time ye brother and I had a chat, mate. A long, long chat."

[member="Dominik Borra"] had asked to come along and help James--but the spacer knew that the faithful spec ops agent would be better used elsewhere--somewhere were his dedication and diligence would shine and inevitably the danger would be more intense than a simple jail break if all went as James had foreseen.

Objective: A

Kay was glad to have the help of both [member="Gray Raxis"] and [member="Stardust"] . The two of them made a great team, as far as she had heard, and she had worked with both of them separately before. Now the trio were working together. And under her leadership, no less. By the Force she hoped that she wouldn't mess this up.

Leaning towards the two of them, she spoke quietly,"We need to bring the humans and non humans here for supplies. There are weapons hidden amongst the supplies. Make sure that those go to those that need them. We need eyes in the air to be on the lookout for Government troops. If they are going to execute today, then they more than likely have some plan in the works already. If I was them, I'd box everyone in and drop a bomb. But I'm not them. So we'll have to figure it out and quickly. There is only six hours to go until the rumoured executions start. Do you think that you can try to figure out what they are planning?"

Objective A, I guess...

After the speeder took its little spinning crash-landing onto the other cops, Gavin dusted himself off and tore the binders off his wrists with a bit of annoyance. Time to, y'know, actually get his work done. No shortage of assignments for the blonde vigilante-turned-cop to do, here. And, genocide... well, that was on the Vitae don't-do-it-or-we'll-blast-you-to-dust list. He was more than happy to do the blasting.

As he walked out of the spaceport, he noted the two armored people and the redhead talking to each other. Curiosity couldn't kill this particular cat. At least not at the moment. He changed direction to walk right towards them, letting out a low whistle as he got closer. These people looked like tanks on legs. He looked between them.

"You lot aren't cops, right? Because killing heavily armored people isn't worth the bother of having to regenerate limbs."

"All right, we've got to move," Filius said as James stepped out of the cell, followed by some Cerean Filius didn't recognize. Filius took his rifle off his back and used the x-ray and thermal modes to sweep the surrounding area. There were several police in the main building. Filius could avoid them easily, but it might be a little more difficult to get his comrades out.

"Okay we have two ways of doing this," Filius said, holstering his rifle, "Either you two get up into that air vent and we get out that way, or..." Filius took a single high-powered explosive off his belt, "...We make things a little bit more interesting."

Objective: A, save dem non-humans!

Gray listened to what both Star and Kay had to say to him. He had an opinion about what both of them said, which wasn't saying much since that was pretty much what anyone would have done in this situation. He decided to address Star first though, since she was the first to speak. He turned to her and said, " It would be better if you stayed here as a non-human to help ease tensions with us humans Beautiful. Kay is none threatening looking, which will help a lot, and you being a twi'lek in armor should give people a better impression than me being here. Plus I am in lighter gear so I will be more mobile, which is what is needed for a good distraction. Easier to get in and out of dodge that way."

Gray turned to Kay next and said, " I will handle the information task along with the distraction. Gives me a reason to mess with some soldiers after all. I'll just figure something out on my way to the nearest watch post. I don't think they will bomb the city honestly because they don't want to destroy their own property or kill any innocent humans. I do think you are right though about them rounding people up. I think they might surround the city or drop troops inside the city and then go door to door forcing them out. Be the best way to avoid damaging the city and getting their point across. A show of force. I do hope I am right though about the bombing thing. That could be very, very bad if I am wrong....."

Gray heard a new comer speak to them and turned to look at them. His comment was odd and it brought more questions to mind than if he had just walked up without saying a thing. He didn't exactly know how to address the man, but figured waiting wouldn't change anything. He said, " Oh yeah I am a cop. I'm deep undercover to break up a tea smuggling ring and just found the ring leader right here." He pointed to Kay before adding, " We are unloading supplies for a humanitarian mission right now, so there is only an unlikely chance you will lose a limb. If I had to take a shot at you though I wouldn't aim for them to begin with. Torso is too easy of target with too many vitals to pass up. If that falls, better to take out the head. Limbs are only good for crippling and not killing after all. So what can we do for you?"

Kay nodded to [member="Gray Raxis"] as she listened to all of his points. He had some good ones. [member="Stardust"] would be perfect to stay, especially with her warrior background. But then there was a newcomer, [member="Gavin XIII"] . She had no idea what to make of him. His approach was strange and she wondered if they should all be careful.

Then Stardust spotted a spy, a runner and zeroed in on him. It was a good thing that she didn't reveal all of her plans just yet. But the spy knew enough.

Kay quickly headed over to some of the non human mothers and their children, speaking low, but hoping that what she said wouldn't cause a panic. "Go inside the supply vessel behind me. We're going to keep you safe and get you out of here. Just stay calm." The men and women that weren't with little children were still told of the plan to hide themselves in the supply vessel, but given the option to remain and fight back as well. Ambushes were needed to be set up in some of the houses, traps needed to be laid. But the Government troops all needed to be distracted first.

Gavin felt like he had to interject his opinion into the argument of who would be the meat shield... but he didn't immediately do so. And then there were the refugees boarding these people's ship, which absolutely suggested that they were friendly. He very casually looked at the man in armor as the woman took off after one of the local xenophobes.

"Well... I don't think a round to the head would kill me, nor would some metal in my lungs. Not important right now. I'm here to dig up and eliminate these bastards and their little murder threat."

Let them wonder who he was. He looked at the brunette who was directing the escape onto the ship with some vague recognition. One of that old fox Vulpesen's friends. What a coincidence. He shrugged and turned his head towards the man next to him again.

"Anyway, I'll take the bullets. Fair bet that none of these frakkers has had an enemy filled with lead keep running right at 'em. Love doing that."
