STRENGTHS
  • Reach Out -
    • Due to the insane range, and energy torpedo can achieve, the 'Hellbore' can cover .07 AU with each torpedo at maximum range - through the effective range is slightly shorter than this. This makes the speed of the Super Heavy Energy Torpedo's at about 60% the speed of light - a far greater performance than their progenitor, and the Confederate Equivalent from the Clone Wars. The insane speed allows them to hit ships with high fidelity of accuracy, paired with the proper aiming computer and firing crew.
  • Hellbore -
    • Due to the Super Heavy denomination, the Energy Torpedos were optimized to layout an extreme amount of punishment wherever they landed. Heavy and explosive, the energy torpedos hit with the weight of a freighter - shaking shields and hulls to their core. This, added with the sheer amount of them able to be fired in a minute period makes them substantially more powerful than many other major cannons - leave alone their ability to outrange most.
WEAKNESSES
  • Axial Mount -
    • Due to the length the projectors require, they can only be mounted along with superstructures. This means that they can only be axially mounted with 20-degree adjustments - and while for the distance they are usually fired at this doesn't mean much, in close quarters combat this makes the cannons effectively useless - unable to hit anything that isn't directly in front of the ship itself.
  • Size Restrictions -
    • Invariably, the mechanisms required to fire the Hellbore update revolve entirely around the strength of the reactors. Due to this, ships require massive power management networks to fire one, if not multiple of the hellbores at once - effectively making them restricted to ships more than 500 meters. Leave alone the power drain they cause on various systems when fired for more than a minute at a time.
DESCRIPTION

After using the Hellbore cannons created by Iron Crown Productions in years past, and seeing their effectiveness in the Fringe Confederation - Jaeger Solutions looked to modernize the design for the current year. With Jaeger's massive R&D department at the ready, reverse engineering the cannons and modernizing them became less of a chore and more of an interesting opportunity to look through what was once made. However, the major cost of such soon became the growing litigation from Iron Crown revolving around their prized design - leading to months of technicalities in Coruscanti courts.
While doing so, however, they realized some updates would have to be made. Increasing the number of projectors to better fit modern reactors, optimizing the range at which they could shoot, and the speed that they fired was top of the list - though only to a point. The real focus became the power with which they hit - creating a new denomination of Energy Torpedo henceforth known as the Super Heavy Energy Torpedo or SHET for short. While the acronym was funny, it would seem overall fitting considering what crews often said when the Hellbores were fired on them.
After everything was said and done, the Hellbore has released onto the market to better support the Lords of the Sith - as Darth Maliphant seems to owe them a mysterious favor. With their fleets soon to be well-armed, the galaxy looks onwards as the ships mass power for power's sake. None know where those guns aim for now.

Everything looks good here, except one thing.

The Hellbore as we both know is the attempt to update it and it is a good one. My problem however is that to update it in this way, you need permission from the original owner to do so. Until that is done, I cannot approve this submission.

Let me know when you get permission to use that submission as your basis, then we can move forward.
