Prophet of Bogan
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Buried deep within the volcanic surface of Erinar in sparse and scattered pockets of caves lay what at one time were likely fairly ordinary lava crystals but which at present have morphed into something else entirely. The exact origins and timing of this change aren't clear but what has been determined from the few extracted from the molten caverns where they reside is that the process of these Erinar Diamonds being created is quite a long and extensive one indeed. Likely taking place over the course of centuries if not thousands of years.
What sets these particular crystals apart from others is that they have been inherently infused with essences from the Dark Side of the Force, undoubtedly the result of some ancient arcane ritual which saturated the world itself with such dark energies long ago. This infusion makes the Erinar Diamonds remarkably powerful and potent yet immeasurably dangerous in equal measure. Their potential for both construction and destruction can be scarcely understood in full, having been twisted and corrupted over their long existence into the forms that they can be found in now.
With their discovery their naming as Erinar Diamonds, a local term for them, has been supplanted in Sith sources with a rather simple term. The Sith word for heat, "Draika." Much as their ancient practitioners caused these crystals the current iterations of the Sith have eager begun attempting to better understand and especially utilize them for their own dark means. Perhaps through their meddling, one day in the far future the next evolution of these crystals will finally be too dangerous for even the Sith to attempt to wield.

- Heart of Flame: Much like the lava crystals that they likely originated from, the Draika exude heat both in their raw uncontained forms as well as in their produced energies. Unlike the magma that can sometimes be expelled by their lava cousins however, the Draika only leak heat. However the temperatures that they can sometimes reach when in use or without proper storage can grow far beyond even the hottest magma, necessitating caution when wielding such crystals as without proper containment and housing they can easily cause severe damage to their surroundings.
- A Blaze Contained: Within each Draika crystal stirs a power more potent than can be found in most other similar crystals such as Kyber and even lava. To the more philosophically inclined it is as though these crystals are the conquered form of the concept of heat and energy itself, rendered into a palpable and potent form. Naturally as one might expect these crystals can serve as exceptionally powerful, and dangerous, power sources for everything from a single lightsaber to systems and weaponry of a starship scale. Perhaps even more so should one be able to wield them properly.
- Burning at the Seams: As one might expect, these crystals can be very volatile should they be handled improperly or jostled excessively. This is without mentioning that their inherent heat production is essentially limitless and eternal, only able to be stifled rather than quenched entirely. As such if not contained and maintained well enough then they can very well melt their way through or ignite whatever may be around them. These two aspects combined make for a dangerous power source that could easily undo its wielders just as surely as it can empower them.
- Flickering in the Void: Naturally being crystals influenced by and exuding energies of the Force, nullification and suppression of such energies does have an effect on them. Typically this is in the form of their energy output becoming staggered or cut off entirely, making such effects one of the few things capable of quenching the sheer output of the Draika crystals.
