- Winds of Change: Due to the crystal inlayed within the hilt, the blade exhibits the special properties of the crystal itself.
- One with the Force: Constructed with techniques that the ancient Je'daii order created, the blade channels the force itself, allowing it to act as an extension of the jedi using it.
- Boomerang Axe: Due to the bonding between Axe and User, the axe seems to want to return to the user when thrown.
- Plasma Repellent: Due to the construction of the blade, the blade is able to deflect both blaster fire and lightsabers.
- Je'daii Construction: With the force flowing through the axehead, it is able to act as a psuedo-lightsaber, able to chop into most materials.
- Evenly Weighted: The Axe, designed originally for search and rescue, was built incredibly well and thus allows Andy to handle it expertly.
- Lightning Rod: With it's inlayed crystal, the blade is able to attract Force Lightning to the blade instead of it hitting the user.
- Dark Side Bane: Along with being able to cut through most objects, it's construction allows it to injure dark side spirts and apparitions
- Sturdy Handle: Imbued with the Force, Erika's handle is able to deflect and absorb blows from anything that comes it's way.
- A Weapon of Inelegance: Unlike other force imbued weapons, Erika is not a traditional melee weapon. While using it can require some skill, it's very much not designed to be used as a blade against duelists.
- Bonded: Given it's unique construction, the abilities the blade grants only seem to work for Andy, and anyone using the axe otherwise would find it simply a regular, if expensive, fireman's axe.
- Requires Force to Work: Any form of Force Nullifcation would make the blade just another songsteel axe
- Forced To Quit: The weapon is only as powerful as the user is strong with the force. If Andy were to be beaten down, or cut off from the Force, Erika would lose her strength as well.
Erika, the axe given to Andy originally as part of his job as an emergency responder, was a constant companion of his for most of it's life. When Andy, a late bloomer, showed he did in fact have an affinity for the Force, he took Erika with him into the jedi order. Imbuing it with his new found abilities, he would use it to great effect going forward, allowing him to fight against the forces of darkness. For nothing brings hope to the scared and the weak than the sight of an axe coming through a door in a burning building.
