STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

• Beyond the Pale: Erebus' ambition and arrogance knew few bounds, such that he sought dominion over even death itself. To this end, he researched the mysteries of the Netherworld, seeking to harness its powers to ensure death itself is only a temporary setback. As long as his phylactery remains intact, death is a meaningless five-letter word.
• Deathless Resilience: As a Sith Lich, Erebus is immune to poison and disease, feels no pain, and does not require food or sleep.
• Lore of Darkness: Erebus is a master of Sith Necromancy, as well as Sith Alchemy and Sith Magic in general.
• Look Upon Me and Despair!: An aura of dread surrounds Erebus, which can cause lesser beings to flee or kneel in submission.
• And it Burns, Burns, Burns: As a pseudo-mummified living corpse, if he were to be ignited by fire Erebus' body would go up like kindling.
• Fetch Me Their Souls: While he can't starve to death physically Erebus will die if he is not kept provided with souls to energize his own, much in the same manner as starving from lack of food.
• The Light, It Burns!: A concentrated blast of Light Side energy, such as Force Light, can destroy his body immediately if not countered.
• Cessation of Existence: If his phylactery were to be destroyed Erebus' soul would not haunt as a Sith Spirit, nor would it get sent to the Netherworld, it would simply cease to exist and he will be gone completely, irreversibly.

APPEARANCE:
In life, Erebus Ignosi was a Sith of the Kissai subspecies, and may have even been considered attractive. As he delved further into the Dark Side, however, this faded, his features becoming increasingly corrupted. By the time he performed his ascension ritual to become a Sith Lich, Erebus' skin had gone pale and vein-stricken. In his current undying form, Erebus' mummified flesh is an unnatural grey, his fingernails black, and his eyes permanently alight with the flames of the Dark Side. He is most often clad in an enchanted headdress and flowing robes.

BIOGRAPHY:
Erebus Ignosi is an ancient Sith Lich and former Kissai. whose dark reign predates the arrival of the Jedi Exiles and their subsequent conquest of his people. Considered a heretic by his kin, he believed that it was not the Dark Side that should be worshipped, but instead the Sith themselves. He amassed a cult of followers, but faced staunch opposition. When the Jedi Exiles came, however, Erebus saw an opportunity. He threw his lot in with the Exiles, bringing death to the kin that had labeled him a pariah, an outcast. Rather than vie for space and power with the Exiles, after his vengeance was enacted Erebus left Sith Space and established his own kingdom in the Unknown Regions of Space, on Exegol. There, he researched the mysteries of Sith Magic and Alchemy, plotting to secure eternal life. He warred with other Sith who had also established holdings on the planet, styling himself "Magnus of the Exegol Thanatocracy". Every warrior his enemies threw at him became another slave in his armies of undead as his grasp of Sith Necromancy improved. At some point prior to his ascension, Erebus fathered a progeny, a line which, with hybridization with the Humans, would endure to the modern day.

The ambition and arrogance of Magnus Ignosi knew few bounds; control over the dead was not enough, he sought dominion over death itself. From his ziggurat hidden beneath Exegol's surface, Erebus delved into the depths of the Dark Side, searching for the path to eternal life. He discovered this path through his mastery of Necromancy, and so went about devouring the souls of other, lesser Sith to fuel his ascension. With the power of the Dark Side, Erebus embraced undeath and became a Sith Lich, fearsome and powerful, unliving yet undying.

With his everlasting unlife obtained, Erebus turned his attention back to the realm of mortals. His necromantic powers strengthened by his undying form, Magnus Ignosi raised innumerable legions, conquering his foes and imprisoning their souls within his ziggurat to keep his hunger satisfied. As with many Sith, however, all the walls and all the bodies in the galaxy could not protect Erebus from his own fatal flaw: arrogance. During a battle, one of his foes got the upper hand on Ignosi and seriously wounded him, forcing him to retreat within the depths of the Midnight Ziggurat.

It was within his citadel that he would remain for thousands of years, regenerating from his phylactery. Over the years, his worshippers have been covertly sacrificing souls to fuel his regeneration, and only now has Erebus awakened to take reign of his cult once more. When annihilation came to Exegol, Erebus had little choice but to flee, and with a great effort utilized Fold Space to warp the Midnight Ziggurat to Sith space. Upon arriving, the Sith Lich discovered a leaderless legion of undead, and after settling down took leadership of the headless horde.
