OUT OF CHARACTER DETAILS:

Baedurinbrute.jpg

GENERAL INFORMATION:
  • Unit Name: Enthralled Davakar
  • Affiliation: Sith Order (Sith Eternal), Demiraev of the Takara
  • Classification: Front line shock troops
  • Description: Of the many Drael to feel the sting of the Alchemist's Eye, none fall more simply than the brutish, hardheaded Baedurin. These warriors once made up the main bulk of the Bryn'Adul Barricas. Now, they are the beginnings of a specialized attack group in the barracks of the Demiraev of the Takara. Baedurin as a species are massive, thick-skinned, and savage in combat. They were bred for battle and serve no different purpose under the control of the Alchemist's Eye. Wearing little armor, carrying basic short-range weaponry, these units are designed and trained to create and maintain an offensive line of attack.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small. These units typically comprise the first rank of a larger attacking force, or an individual body with a separate combat objective.
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon. Before the Baedurin can be enlisted, they must first be found, hunted, captured, and dominated through Sith sorcery. They represent a great investment and are therefore used sparingly. Their numbers will grow with the power of the Alchemist's Eye.
  • Unit Experience: Trained. Even common Baedurin cannon fodder receive expert training in the Bryn'Adul. Training received from the Sith was mostly psychological reconditioning.
  • Equipment: These units are designed to deliver critical blows through their bear strength. They are typically equipped with standard short-range rifles and SMGs. All units are deployed with a melee weapon, and some are deployed with shields.
  • Combat Function: The durability and tenacity of the Baedurin makes these units perfect for organized front line combat. They absorb fire from large groups of enemy fighters and soften up defenses for other attackers. When formation breaks, these units can be devastating as lone fighters through their superior strength alone.
  • Force Abilities: N/A (Force sensitivity in the Baedurin subrace is laughably rare. If any were discovered in the ranks of the Brutes, they would be rapidly reassigned.)
Strengths:
  • Stone Skinned: The Baedurin enjoy very thick, heat resistant skin. While they will suffer injury from blaster fire unshielded, they have need of very little body armor to remain effective in combat under a wide variety of circumstances.
  • Bred for War: Baedurin are dangerous foes at the best of times. They are usually over eight feet in height and can weigh almost 600 lbs. It would be a simple thing for them to kill most of the enemies they would encounter in a battle with their bare hands. They have a mind for combat and very little else.
Weaknesses:
  • Good help is hard to find: The Alchemist's Eye gives Kolis the power to bring the Draelvasier under his sway but capturing them is a prerequisite and most Bryn don't take kindly to being taken alive. The massive investment required to conscript the Baedurin is worth it, but it is still a difficult and complex process.
  • Snowbirds: Baedurin blood literally steams in most atmospheres. They are used to a volcanically hot climate and are thus weak to cryo-weaponry and on frozen battlefields.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
Venn Kolis created the Alchemist's Eye to forge himself an army from his enemies. After extensive practice and careful planning, that goal is being realized. The Baedurin Brutes are the first successful rank and file soldiers brought into the forces of the Sith Eternal by the Alchemist's Eye. Dominating the Baedurin was no easy feat. Their fearless nature and rabid adherence to the dogmatic dictates of their native culture proved stubborn obstacles, but in the end, even the most stalwart of Kolis's captives has come to accept that the Sith are Eternal. Now these converted Baedurin represent a potent addition to the forces of the Demiraev of the Takara. Mainly an aggressive force, these troops are deployed against hard military targets as a supplement to less resilient contingents.

Looks good overall, just a few things before I can approve this.

  • At the top, "Out of Context Information" should say "Out of Character Information". They mean very different things!

  • Links: We really need a link to the Draelvasier submission in here, for those of us who don't immediately know which species you are referencing. It would be great if you could also link this sub the first time you mention Baedurin, since many people will not be immediately familiar with that species/subspecies of Draelvasier.

  • Affiliation: Please provide a link to the Sith Order's faction page here.

  • Combat Information: This is a section header, rather than a description field. I would recommend moving everything you wrote here up into the Description section.
