Private Enter The Fold

The trail up to Shiraya's Sanctuary had been long and winding, and several times Mysa was left wondering if she had somehow made a wrong turn; she knew that she hadn't, it was rare indeed that the Force led her astray - forsaken her, yes, but addled her senses? no. It was not a route for those who were not already in the know, and Mysa most certainly was not, yet as she came around that final rocky curve she found it spread before her all the same.
Down at her side Felix chuffed, while overheard Odiir soared and circled; he had found it before her, of course, had given credence to the path she was upon, but until she saw it for herself she could not quite believe her journey over.
Not over, she reminded herself, it is merely beginning. For now the true trial began.
Pushing down the hood of the fur cloak which dwarfed her even now, Mysa Snowstrider paused to take a nice long breath of fresh mountainous air. The wind whipped through her hair, drawing wisps free from the many braids and roughing up her already questionable appearance. She was rugged even for a Valkyri, nevermind their Princess, and she certainly did not fit the stereotypical bill for a Jedi, yet she shone within the light all the same and especially here she saw no cause to dampen it.
The Force was all around, blinding and brilliant and beautiful, and she was happy to bask in it as she caught her breath.
"Come" she urged the frir, with a nudge of her head toward the white steps and walkways that still kept her from the main body of the Temple, "Time to see if they will even recognize me as one of their own." It had been a long time since Coci Heavenshield Coci Heavenshield 's training, after all, and for all she knew they would not honour her quiet Knighting of Mysa.

The Force willed it. And Ala obeyed.

Not half an hour earlier, it had willed that she push her hand into a stiff breeze and let it give her arm some lift. Now, she sat on a small rock wall alongside a bank of wildflowers. Flowers which she had secured for herself in bushels of scented wonder.

It was all so very far away from Thyferra. From the war. From the physical pain she had felt only days earlier before the bacta treatments had been completed, and the emotional scars she still bore. All of that was put aside, for the meditation of living.

The Force willed the distraction. The creation of a flower crown. a messy, tangled catastrophe of which she was most assuredly, stubbornly proud.

And the Force willed she appear as anything but the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order. Which she found remarkably easy to manage, much to her quiet dismay.

The wind picked up for a moment, blowing the horrendous crown of flowers from her head. Ala let out a disconcerted hurrumph, before noticing it land atop to the head of a rather large cat.

"Oh....good catch!"

Her eyes turned towards the woman beside the flower crested feline.

"Hello there...you appear to be on a grand quest...or something?"

The sudden drifting of a flower crown down to Felix's large head was a surprise, and the creature chuffed and looked up at it for a moment before flopping down and rolling onto his back to try and get at it. The act was playful, a rare sight now that he was no longer a kitten, and Mysa found herself brightly smiling in response.
"Hey now," she warned him, as she reached down to swipe it from his head, "Do not ruin it, Fe, a lot of care went into making it." Making sure it was unharmed, she offered it back out to the woman on the rock wall.
"A grand quest," she echoed, before accompanying the words with a nod. "As the Gods will it, yes; I am told this is where I might find my... kin." For she was kindred with the Jedi to be sure. Her gaze shifted from the woman to the structures nestled into the mountains. "This is Shiraya's Sanctuary, yes? Or did I take a wrong turn?"

With a nod of appreciation, Ala accepted her "crown" from the stranger, though she would rather have seen the big feline play with it a while longer. Instead, it was placed back on her head — slightly askew, of course — and a smug, half-serious look of pride took hold of her face.

The little elf glanced over her shoulder, the same shoulder that she used to shrug-point towards the front entrance of the Sanctuary. "Yup...that's the front door right over there."

"The will of the Gods and seeking your kin...my my...someone has the smell of destiny about them!"
She exclaimed, rocking back and forth on her heals. She was seemingly disinterested in delving deeper, though the opposite were true.

Her eyes though were more interested in Felix. She looked at the fur-ball, and then back at the stranger...then back at the fur-ball. ~Can I pet your...pet?~ She said through the Force.

Felix was less than pleased about losing his flowers, he rocked back and forth, left to right, still on his back, then flopped over and huffed a heavy sigh. After staring at Mysa for a good long moment, the feline rose up and circled her legs before boldly breaking away and approaching the woman on the wall instead, his tail curling and weaving in a sassy fashion in the air.
Look at me he practically purred, I have a new favourite now...
Mysa rolled her eyes at him, and took a few steps closer as the woman confirmed that she was in fact on the doorstep of the sanctuary. It was just a short walk more, then she'd reach her destination; she didn't immediately head off though. Instead she offered the woman a smile.
"Some may say destiny, others obligation" she chuckled, "Truthfully, I think it's just time I come home to roost. It's what she would have wanted." Mysa only realized after she had already said it that she was a very vague and ominous way to say it. "My Master, Coci," she added. Her Master, but more than that her Mother. Just saying her name hurt the young woman's heart, but she knew she had to remain strong.
She had grieved enough over the years, it was time to honour her memory.
When the question came through the Force, Mysa could only laugh. Felix had a will of his own, and already the giant ball of fur was approaching for headbutts and leg-nuzzles.
Be my guest.

The invitation to pet the critter was received approximately five seconds after Ala had already knelt and begun scratching under the furrballs chin. With the action received with a purr, and the permission filtering through the connection in the Force, Ala leaned into the the furr. "Oh...my....stars...he is sooooo fluuuuuuffffffffyyyy!!!!!"

The delight was entirely unfiltered. Her face full of sunshine and warmth as she found the big furr-thing rolling over and and letting his scratch her belly.

"She?" Ala looked up, eyes big and wide. The question was answered quickly.

Her countenance fell, even as her fingers kept playing with fur. "Did...did your Master die?"

Someone other than the feline was about to get a hug.

Mysa lit up to see Felix getting the love he deserved, so many avoided him due to his size and... well, his sabertoofs. "He is, is he not?" she gushed, "He has kept me warm through many a snowy Midvinter night." There were definitely times she would not have survived if not for him or her mother's Tapas teachings.
Felix was in the zone, oh so happy to be being pet and fussed and doted on. He was chuffing softly, ears flicking slightly as he rolled from shoulder to shoulder on his back.
When talks turned to Coci, Mysa's heart ached something fierce. "My Master and.. my Mama" she whispered. After swallowing, she shook her head. "We do not know what happened to her," she confessed, "but Papa built a place of rest and remembrance. I cannot feel her any more, through the Force... I could always feel her before."
She looked away, back toward the temple, and frowned to herself.
"I thought I would never step foot beyond the wilds again, but... I know that is not what she would want for me."
