End of the Line

Patience was something Bryn had learned in her training. So the teen waited. Watching the woman through her cybernetic eye, she could anticipate some of her movements. When she got up to try and dash to the door behind the assassin, she knew this was her moment.

Taking the opportunity, a knife darted out and was thrown at the back of the woman as she ran past. If her aim was true, the scientist should be lying face-first on the ground, not able to move but still alive. On the chance she missed, then the Force would reach out to finish the job of knocking her off of her feet and onto the floor.

The woman was hit, not in the middle of the spine, but in the right shoulder. She stumbled forward and the Force push would send her hurtling towards the wall. She tried with her better arm to reach back and remove the knife, which she did so with extreme difficulty as she prepared to defend herself to the last. She was going to fight as long as she possibly could.

And seeing if Bryn could actually kill her was the challenge, after all.

Cursing to herself, Bryn watched as the woman climbed to her feet once again and was able to draw the knife out of her shoulder. What surprised the girl was it wasn't thrown back at her. This scientist actually thought she could defend herself again the assassin.

Drawing another knife out from her boot, the blond would soon see Bryn wasn't without a weapon. In addition to the knife, she also had the Force and all the other enhancements Vanessa had done to her.

"Your move, lady."

Bryn would likely be surprised to find the woman using the Force to force her back with a push. She would stand up and pull out a lightsaber - a standard Jedi-esque weapon with a green blade, and prepare to fight the assassin with it. She would prepare to advance if need be, but for now would use the weapon to take a defensive stance, ready for whatever the next attack would potentially be.

"I'm not going anywhere that easily, Sith."

Her eyes blinked as the blond used the Force to try and push her away and raised a lightsaber in her direction. Lifting her knife to point it at her, she smiled just slightly.

"You surprise me, ma'am."

Lowering the knife, she replaced it in her boot. She would need to somehow get into close range to take the scientist down. Just because they could both use the Force, that didn't leave Bryn at a disadvantage. It just didn't make her stronger.

With the enhancements Vanessa had done, she could take a lot more abuse than a normal human. Reaching out a hand, she would attempt to call the knife she had already thrown back into it.

"Of course not."

How did this woman know she was Sith? Giving a mental shrug, it really didn't matter to the assassin.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
The woman in question would use the Force with one hand to try and tug back on the knife, a deliberate move as she grasped her lightsaber and threw it at the assassin in question. Her tactical decision, despite her wounds, was deliberate: there was a plan to this woman, a plan she intended to follow for survival as was necessary, but it would be up to Vanessa to see whether or not that plan turned into tangible results.

After all, she did care.

Since Bryn did not feel she needed the extra knife to accomplish her mission, when she felt the other woman tug at it with the Force, she released her hold on it. In addition, she also provided it with a Force push and hoped it would accelerate faster than the blond could account for.

When the lightsaber was thrown in her direction, it had been a good thing the cyborg had let go of her knife. Ducking as the blade flew through the air, it went over her head and in a flash, a hand reached up and grabbed the hilt before it could get away.

Not having forgotten about the knife the woman might now be holding, Bryn stood back up and held the lightsaber out in front of her.

"We seem to be at an impasse."

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"We are." The woman had the knife and, despite her wounds, was still ready to continue fighting to defend her life. The cyborg truly terrified her, though she was considering how soon it was necessary to reveal the truth about herself - the truth as to what she really was. "Leave me alone! I will not hurt you if you listen and refuse to keep trying to kill me." She knew it was a fruitless gesture, but this was certainly going to be interesting.

Soon it would be time to break the illusion, potentially.

Keeping the lightsaber in front of her, she listened to the woman she had been sent here to kill. Even though she was wearing a mask, one of her eyebrows lifted when the plea went out for her to stop attacking.

"Why should I do that? I wonder what you have done to warrant my master wanting you dead. Answer me that and I'll consider not hurting you more. If you don't answer, then I have no choice but to accomplish the mission I was sent here for."

Not lowering her guard, Bryn waited for the answer to come.
