Son of Nagi

Long ago, far from the prying eyes of the Galaxy proper, conflict roiled into being upon the Nagai Homeworld. Then, and to the present day, the exact cause for the violence is still shrouded in uncertainty...but what is known was that the fighting was ferocious. The Nagai, natively a culture of warriors and cunning, employed their greatest strengths against one another. And, for those who did not choose a side, there were only flight and certain death as options. For the young Emyr, his parents chose for him - and together they departed from the troubled world and into the known Galaxy. In truth, the young Nagai was so young that he can hardly remember the spires of home this day. All that he can recall are the tears his mother wept as they made that hurried dive into Hyperspace...

In the years which followed, the bereft family did everything they could to return to "normalcy." By pure happenstance, they arrived on a world known as Dosuun and attempted to resume a peaceful living. Emyr's father did his best to ply his combat skills in the security field - while his mother tended to he and his siblings as best they could. As the eldest child, Emyr fell into the role of supporting his father sooner rather than later. The proud heritage of their people was passed down to the young boy by the stories of his father. Their traditions. Their way of fighting. Their devotion, passion, and honor instilled in him through every mission they conducted together. By the time that Emyr was sixteen years of age, he was a competent combatant and was able to venture out on his own. His aims were always where they belonged - on sending every credit he could back to his family.

But in 844 ABY, the Galaxy itself Broke.

In an event that would become known as the Netherworld Crisis, Emyr found his family ripped asunder. One moment, all was right in the world...and the next, Emyr awoke in a valley of blood. It was only by being in the proximity of wiser, more powerful natives of the Galaxy that he was able to make his escape from the Netherworld. But the "home" he eventually returned to was lost. His mother was nowhere to be found. His siblings were scattered. And his father had been reduced to a state of utter madness by all that he had seen. In truth, even now, dreams of blood raining from the heavens yet haunt Emyr. But as the last, sound member of his family, he had to endure has best he could. With time, Dosuun, and by extension the Galaxy, managed to lick the wounds of the Netherworld crisis.

And the world itself became the growing place for an imperial frame of mind. As what would become known as the First Order rose to prominance on Dosuun, Emyr busied himself with providing the best options he could for his broken sire. What began as freelance security work for the budding regime - just enough to pay for housing his sire at a mental care facilty - quickly...evolved. The empire was quick to absorb any who had talents of use, and were even willing to overlook the Nagai's non-human nature at that. Emyr never had strong political leanings, nor did he favor any particular ideologies save Honor. But what drove him to cling fast to the First Order was the opportunity to provide for his father indefinitely. With every role, a boon to his capacity to care for the man was obtained. With every promotion, better accommodations. Like any Nagai, Emyr was devoted to this cause.

Over time, the Imperial regime began to utilize every talent the Nagai had to offer - including those he was not aware of. In fact, after years of service as an Auxiliary, a latent trait about Emyr came to the surface: Force Sensitivity. Between this fact and his record of service to the empire, Emyr was permitted to pursue study of the Force as an Acolyte of the Beyond. This was the first time in Emyr's life that he was able to explore his own abilities. Thus far, it had been the ways of his people, or the operational standards of the empire. But here, as an Acolyte, the Nagai had the freedom to learn more about himself and what he was truly capable of. And, while caring for his sire was always the foundation, growing this new part of himself became a major driving force. And, though it was not the flavor of the Knights of Ren, Emyr became fascinated with the stray stories of Witches and "magick" within the archives. However limited they were, they painted the Nagai's mind with grandiose desires - to become something far greater than a soldier.

It would not be until the eventual collapse of the First Order that Emyr would have that opportunity.

From a neutral perspective, it was impressive all that the imperial nation had withstood. Moreover, it was impressive that Emyr - briefly known as Sol Ren - had survived the numerous battles leading up to the present. From the numerous clashes against the Galactic Alliance to their eventual defeat by reptilian hands, the First Order enjoyed a rather lengthy lifespan by modern, Galactic standards. But in the absence of the stability, Dosuun itself was struck a grievous blow. In the attack, the source of Emyr's devotion was extinguished...and with it, the man's connection to the Imperial regime. Where the remnant fled, Emyr did not follow. Rather, he struck out on his own, intent on making his own way yet again. For a time, he explored the stories of the Witches as best a wanderer could - taking odd jobs and mercenary work all along the way.

But as Emyr would soon learn, the stability of an empire came with reliable, rigorously maintained transportation. And taking odd jobs did not equate to the pinnacle of efficiencies. This disparity resulted in a minor cataclysm whilst he journeyed to his next destination: a faulty jump into Hyperspace. T'was a thunderous sound that his vessel careened off course and plummeted to a world he had never seen before. A world of wolves. A world of savages. A place where he could become something far greater.
