PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Bio-Armour
  • Weight: Very Light
  • Resistances:
    • Kinetic Weapons: Very High
    • Energy Weapons: High
    • Extreme Cold: Low
    • Lightsabers: Low
    • Telepathy: None
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Inkskins have an abbreviated life-cycle with little resemblance to fauna; 'mature' specimens can be guided to consume large amounts of food with external stimuli, often from a Grey One technician. After roughly twenty-four hours of gestation, the organism will split in two, though the cloned specimen might experience minor mutations at this stage due to lingering genetic instability. Inkskins can be used immediately, but it's not advisable to split them again until they have been given time to mature/recover - doing so greatly increases the risk of mutation.
    • Inkskins typically 'hibernate' in forearm-sized cylinders when not in use, though they can be hidden beneath normal clothing. They are unlikely to survive more than a month of active use without extensive time spent recovering in hibernation. Inkskins that expire, either due to overuse or critical injury will begin to disintegrate - death by cold instead causes them to harden, greatly lowering mobility.
  • While flexible under most circumstances, Inkskins rapidly harden and expand upon contact with kinetic force, dispersing even fell blows.
  • Inkskins are not put on as one would a shirt or a pair of pants - instead, they rapidly crawl outwards to cover your body.
  • Inkskins do not come with more than a few minutes of internal air supply, but they can function as a rebreather.
    • While decent at breaking down chemical weapons, they struggle with smaller compounds, notably CO.
STRENGTHS
  • Second Skin: Inkskins are as light as clothing, highly flexible, and adaptable to standard environments.
  • Hardy Hide: Inkskins offer protection equivalent to medium-to-heavy armour in an ultralight package.
  • Fecundity: Unlike most armours, Inkskins are able to asexually reproduce with time and biomass.
WEAKNESSES
  • Living Coffin: Inkskins can be mind-controlled using telepathy; suffocation by Inkskin is a truly terrible way to go.
  • Cryoshock: Extreme cold (cryogenic weaponry or arctic temperatures) causes rapid cell death in Inkskins.
  • Icky Goo: Despite 'fitting like a glove' and not leaving one sticky, Inkskins weird out most soldiers.
DESCRIPTION
The elite demand armour of legendary quality able to shrug off lightsabers, but what of the common man?

While alternatives aplenty are available, from the bulky equipment worn by the Stormtroopers of yore to light,
moderately protective uniforms, few or none met Greystone's exacting standards. Thus was born the Inkskin following a simple realisation - the average soldier would likely never be faced with a Sith or Jedi, and if they were no amount of armour would save their lives. That, then, was where to cut expenses.

Who really cares if a Sith can make your armour betray you when they'd probably cut you in half anyway?
