ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Advanced Engine Systems

 • CFE-G3M5http://starwarsrp.net/topic/125729-cfe-g3m5-engine/ - A third generation crystal infused engine, the CFE-G3M5 improves the Empire III’s overall functions. The engine not only has an improved heat sink it also burns cleaner thanks to the redesigned chambers. The Empire III thanks to the CFE-G3M5 has a greater efficiency as the synthetic crystal draw heat away from critical components. This then sees an improved power transfer rate as well as improved systems response time. The downside to this is the unique signature that it would provide making it incredibly hard to disguise, and the vulnerability to ion/emp damage as well as internal sabotage. Although, the latter could be said of many engines if not all.
Advanced Weapon Systems

 • Fornax - Developed by Aurora Industries, the Fornax is an upgrade to the Neuron. A long range turbolaser with very high stopping power, and a fast reload speed. The Fornax like many of the weapons developed by Aurora utilizes the sianium power generator. This gives the Fornax the ability to hit harder while still maintaining standard long range firing capacity. Given the role of the Fornax, it is unable to hit at close range - and has trouble hitting at standard turbolaser range.

 • Corona - Developed by Aurora Industries, the Corona hits three times harder than that of a standard turbolaser while maintaining the standard range and rate of fire. It does this by utilizing the sianium power generator, also developed by Aurora Industries. The drawbacks of the potential to overheat which can cause catastrophic results for those aboard.

 • Vulcan - By current standards the Vulcan HVC has aged, however; it still proves to do the job quite well. A high rate of fire with an improved accuracy, a faster reload when compared to its 240 counterpart and finally the ability to hit at long range. Typically the drawback here is that you must lower the particle shields first. The Empire III bares a small solution to this, with the Brel-type light particle shield. Even so, the Vulcan is still subject to overheating and jamming, in addition - the Vulcan is unable to track smaller attack craft such as starfighters, or interceptors.
Advanced Defensive Systems

 • Brel - Guns like the Vulcan Hypervelocity Cannon required that particle shields be lowered before firing. Primo Victorian developed the Brel as a work around, the shield works to regenerate itself every six to ten seconds on top of allowing projectiles such as the HVC rounds to fire through. However there are many drawbacks to this first generation regenerative shield, such as the bleedthrough damage, and while it allows the firing of projectiles out - it also allows them in and is just as vulnerable to ion/emp damage as typical shields.

 • Retribution - Typically Mandalorian, the retribution feedback shield has been adapted to the Primo Victorian Imperial ship line. The Empire III boasts a redundant feedback shield the shield is typically not active until the standard shield is lowered. The redundant feedback shield is then brought online and joins the Brel in keeping the Empire going during the firefight.
Strengths:

 • Jack of All Trades: Capable of firing at either standard or long range, the Empire is also able to withstand a moderate amount of damage or deploy squadrons to intercept, defend or attack on its behalf.
Weaknesses:

 • Master of None: While the Empire is a capable vessel and able to many things on the battlefield, it is unable to specialize at anything in particular. Putting it at a disadvantage against those designed with heavier armament ratings.

 • Vulnerabilities: Ion/EMP weapons still pose a threat to the ship most especially her engines. In addition, she can be particularly vulnerable to projectile type weaponry that rely more on kinetic damage rather than energy.

 • Speed / Manuverability: Low rates of speed and manuverability puts her at risk of falling into blind spots and irregular firing arcs more often than the typical ship of her class. Making it easier for faster and more agile craft to attack and captialize on firing opportunities when they are presented.
Description:

As part of the ongoing Mark III Imperial project, the Empire III was next on the block. This time engineers looked to ancient light cruisers and built up from there, the ship was designed with its roots in mind when the first Empire-class Heavy Frigate debuted and earned its name during the Omega Event. Utilizing Aurora Industires technologies and incorporating older technology from the First Order. Pulling in at over six hundred meters in length the Empire III is equipped with an array of long range and standard range weaponry. Unlike some of its predecessors the Empire III ups the ante on the starfighter game by fielding two squadrons.

While the Empire III has been built as a mass produced workhorse, some of her flaws are noticable starting with her low speed and manuverability. Followed by her vulnerability to projectiles, along with ion/emp weaponry. The Empire III is most vulnerable when her shields have been lowered, for while the redundant retribution feedback system helps the Brel light particle shield. These two components are still going to struggle with projectiles it is certainly a weakness and one that can be easily exploited if enemy units and sensors are looking for it.
