    Knight Commander Rurik, Imperial Knights
    Jygat, 860 ABY

    PRELUDE
    THE FIRE INSIDE

Rurik was ultimately a union out of wedlock, born to a distant cousin of the main bloodline of Fel who sought refugee in her noble peers in the House of Dooku of Serenno only to be found hiding another of her blood at the coming of the Sith Empire. Fearing the Sith would murder the boy upon finding out his identity he was sent away by his mother to be taken in by the Jedi Order of the Galactic Alliance who gave the child a new surname and allowed him to be raised among the other younglings as a student of the Jedi Order. As a youngling and budding Padawan, Rurik was poorly regarded by his overseers- seeing him as rambunctious, angst-ridden and ultimately difficult to teach. Disregarding the appraisal of the child, Vyrin Karis was the last Jedi Master to take in Rurik as his own student.

Seemingly empathetic and patient with the young Fel, Rurik took to his guidance immediately and while outwardly beginning to temper his emotions- so too brewed a nigh obligation of distaste to the darkness, the Great Galactic War exposing him to the most vile of evils that the Sith could bring down on the Galaxy as he fought in the battles of Mirial and eventually the sacking of Coruscant at the hands of the Sith Empire- the very same engagement which resulted in the death of Vyrin, leaving Rurik as the sole guardian to his son, Ryv Karis, destined to be his master in the teachings of the Jedi as he ascended to the rank of Jedi Knight.

But Ryv, caught into the downward spiral of the Underworld's embrace, refused Rurik's guidance. Devoid of purpose and fulfillment, Rurik ultimately set out on a Barash Vow, abandoning the teachings of the Jedi Order until an eventual resurgence of the Republic following its reformation from the Corellian Confederation brought Fel back into the fold, for a brief period. So too did he become disillusioned with the political machinations of democracy and how they could neglect to hone in on a common goal, preferring to turn their arms on the Grayson Imperium on Kuat as opposed to coming together and uniting against the Sith Empire, Rurik abandoned the Jedi Order once more to swear his arms to the only entity posing a threat to the darkness in the New Imperial Order. It was too he saw where he could unveil his origins as a noble in exile and remake himself unto an identity all but inherited in his blood.

Though he kept his name and origins concealed, he enlisted himself into the Order of the Imperial Knights, being given the rank of Knight Commander, given his knowledge of the Force and his equivalent military standing in both the Republic and the Galactic Alliance before it, his experience fighting Sith and overall combat experience immediately placed him in a position of leadership as the Imperial Knights struggled to grow its initial numbers beneath the leadership of High Knight Marshal Zovesa.

Rurik mainly took the responsibility of transitioning new Squires into the rank of Knight Errant while also leading combat troops into battle, leading Imperial Force Corps forces in the battles of Mygeeto and PL-40112 to victory in major engagements. However, atop his heap of obligation and responsibility, it was on the latter venue that Rurik had an irreversibly damaging encounter against the powerful Sith Lord and later claimant to the title of Dark Lord of the Sith, Kascalion Giedfield. On the field of battle the two fought to near death with Giedfield only able to disengage by evoking an esoteric Sith battle spell unto Rurik which permanently disfigured his body and caused irreversible nerve damage that continuously causes searing pain across his entire body, only mitigated by his hold of the Force and what was later known as his 'Iron Skin', his characteristic suit of steel within which Rurik is rarely seen out of save for choice moments or times spent in bacta rest to continuously sate the pain of these ever-present wounds.

It was not long after that Rurik was entrusted another student in Errant Zambrano, by his father, the then Lord Executor Vaulkhar Zambrano. Errant however carried the same woes and tribulations that Rurik did, however, in the battle of Bastion- at the enacting of Operation Kyber Dark where Rurik Fel managed to defeat the Sith Lord Braxus Zambrano in single combat, Errant gave in to rage at the command to kill his Sith allies and murdered several troopers of the 501st, resulting in Errant being deemed Crestfallen and sent into exile.

However, following Kyber Dark, Rurik was designated as Lord Executor, the champion of the Empire.

To be continued later when I'm not lazy etc.
