DESCRIPTION

The Emblazoner-class escort frigate is a light capital ship that excels at screening larger vessels.

To effectively deter starfighters and other small craft from attacking transports or larger capital ships, the Emblazoner-class escort frigate has three layers of defense: its missile launchers, dual-purpose laser cannons, and Firebearer CIWS. The missile launchers are the outermost layer of defense and are utilized to intercept incoming hostiles from a range of up to 50 km away. The Emblazoner’s middle layer of defense is its dual-purpose laser cannons, whose fast-moving turrets are purpose built to track small, agile targets such as starfighters. Finally, the innermost layer of defense is the Firebearer CIWS, which while short-ranged has an unrivaled rate of fire enabling individual turrets to saturate a large area with lethal plasma.

Like the Mynock-class attack frigate it is derived from, the Emblazoner-class has a smooth, segmented appearance. Compared to its sleeker, more aggressive counterpart, the Emblazoner is wider and has a notably larger stern segment, giving it considerably higher storage capacity at the cost of speed.
