ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Onslaught: The Mynock-class attack frigate is heavily armed for its size with a deadly complement of laser cannons and numerous homing missiles allowing it to safely disable merchant vessels or punch far above its weight class.
  • Nimble: Mynock-class frigates are fast and decently agile at sublight speeds, giving them an edge over most pursuers.
WEAKNESSES
  • Glass Cannon: Lightly armored and shielded, Mynock-class frigates cannot hold up against sustained fire.
  • Low-Endurance: Mynock-class frigates have little storage capacity, making them unsuitable for longer missions.
DESCRIPTION
The Mynock-class attack frigate is Alge Imperial Shipyards’ first new product after a nearly two year suspension of operations.
Designed to maximize firepower and speed, the Mynock-class is intended to be used to harass shipping and eliminate enemy patrols before they can track the main fleet. Named after the parasitic mynock, the Mynock-class is intended to evoke similar feelings of distress as squadrons of frigates bleed an enemy fleet or convoy dry.

The Mynock-class attack frigate’s bulbous, curved profile represents a significant departure from previous Imperial-inspired AISI ship designs. This can be largely attributed to AISI’s relocation to Caragach, where the company hired many native Caragachi engineers who incorporated their own shipbuilding traditions into the Mynock’s design.
