:: CHAPTER I :: CHAINS

Ember’s parentage remains unknown as of yet. His earliest memories begin aboard the pirate frigate Kaara’s Lust, a fearsome modified ship belonging to the bloodthirsty and remorseless pirate crew of The Black Scarfs.

Under the cruel hand of The Black Scarfs, Ember, then a boy with no name but a label, was forced into hard labor of maintaining the various electronics of the frigate and/or equipment . His job, most of the time, ended up in fiddling with electronics. Taught to learn fast due to the looming shadow of the shockwhip above him, the young boy pushed his body and brain to the limits just so he could not taste the brutal touch of the whip.

Years went by and as he grew, the young chained boy hoped for freedom. Yet, the more he desired it the more he believed it was not achievable. The final nail to the coffin was hammered when an attempt of a mutiny resulted into brutal massacre and set example to Ember to not even dare.

He locked his thirst for freedom deep within the same place he hid his quickly growing hate. All beneath layers upon layers of dread.

The young teenager kept his head low and tried his best to ignore the insults and labels of cowardice he received from viciously scarred mutineers due to his reluctance to participate in the failed mutiny. Ignoring could only go so far, so he stoked the brewing hate deep within thinking it was for the best.

:: CHAPTER II :: HOPE

Around the age of thirteen, the Black Scarfs were on one of their many ransacking runs upon an ill-fated cargo ship. Tasked with slicing the airlock to the cargoship to let loose the menace of the Black Scarfs upon the prey, the unnamed boy fiddled with the controls before finally unlocking the gates to the loot.

But loot came in the form of a trap.

Colored blades of scorching plasma met the arrogant pirates striking them down with the power of long awaited justice and reckoning. Struck in awe and lying on the ground observing the events before him as if they were a dream.

Abruptly from the light show a hand caught the young boy's collar. Stunned and unable to move, he could not react. The hand ripped his sleeve revealing the tattoo on his bicep - the symbol of a Black Scarf slave. A face became clearer, belonging to the hand. Deep eyes full of wisdom and features of man who had gone through it all.

Little did he know then that this same person would not only be his liberator but also the person he would be named after.

:: CHAPTER III :: NAME

After the demise of the pirate terror of the Black Scarfs, the slaves were freed and those under age were sent to various orphanages across the stars in Alliance space. He was finally given a name - Ember, after one of his liberators - Ember Rekali. It came to no surprises that the young blue-eyed boy had found his purpose.

To become a Jedi just like the one who had broken his festering chains.

Young Ember would bore daily the orphanage keepers with questions about the Jedi and the galaxy. Depending on their moods they would answer but every time they answered differently. Their answers forged by their surroundings, their social group and their belief system. Some longed for Imperials, some fiercely defended the Alliance.

Their answers would turn into ramblings and monologue which in turn lit a flame of activism within Ember's heart.

He grew to believe the importance of political activism, knowledge and thought, and the necessity of a right belief system.

:: CHAPTER IV :: PURPOSE

Three years were the most Ember could survive suffocating in the orphanage. His purpose called him each day and the wilderness of his teenage years fueled his recklessness to the point of leaving the orphanage.

Ember knew he'd be alright. He'd survive out there.

By sheer luck and stubbornness, the young man roamed from job to job as an electronics specialist doing small-time jobs and living off scraps. He aimed to save enough money in two years to get a ride to Sullust and become a Jedi.

The years passed marking unremarkable days in Ember's life full of sweating, hard work but all of them a build up to his goal.

He had made his way through the que and finally stood before the transport to take him to Sullust where an elderly alien female inquired about the names of the passengers.

"Ember."

"Ember...what?"

"Huh?"

"Your last name, Sir."

He glanced frantically around before his eyes fell upon the hull of the ship where his answer rested.

"Ember Farseer, m'am."

:: CHAPTER V :: JEDI

His arrival on Sullust marked the beginning of his first steps as a Jedi. Tested as positive on the Force Sensitivity test, Ember passionately looked forward to following the footsteps of his heroes - the Jedi.

A much later learner than most of his peers, if not the eldest, Ember made up by his ability to work harder than others. A feat achieved due to his slave labor aboard Kaala's Lust. Whenever he worked on something, Ember still subconsciously believed the shockwip to be somewhere around him patiently waiting for him to slack so it could bite his flesh.

At the New Jedi Order, Padawan Farseer often participated in political and ideological debates with peers. Something he had caught from the endless ramblings of his orphanage's keepers. Additionally, he'd help out with any electronic issues and jobs. Slowly, but surely, Ember was molded into the image of a Jedi.

:: CHAPTER VI :: CONFLICT

Within his mid twenties was Ember Farseer knighted. He longed to leave the boundaries of Sullust and the safe nearby systems to systems truly needing the help of the Jedi. Frontier worlds caught in a conflict, humanitarian crises and other similar activities.

Meanwhile, his thought and view developed with some ideological dialogues with his peers becoming more heated than usual. Actions by the Alliance and the New Jedi Order planted the seed of disillusionment in him.

While on a mission Ember murdered a man to save another. Despite the sense of righteousness, he couldn't help but be extremely affected by the event. To take a life was mind shattering. A roller coaster of emotions flooding. No matter how right or just it might've been, murder always asked the question - 'Was it truly right?"

Bearing this in his mind, it all reached the climax point during the battle of Kaeshana where the Alliance actively supported the efforts of clearly dark sided individuals. The New Jedi Order's reluctance to act upon it and their 'see no evil' stance was seen by Ember as the epitome of hypocrisy.

He knew this place was not for him.

He lost the meaning of Jedi.

:: CHAPTER VII :: EXILE

Leaving it all behind and wanting none of it, Ember moved to the planet of Jabiim. At first, he did what he did best - electronics but it all too reminded him of a past he wanted to leave behind and even erase. He found opportunity in opening a small flower shop where he worked on his own.

In his exile, he believed, he did by far more good than he had ever done as a Jedi of the New Jedi Order. Deeds, certainly not galactic-wide effective, but as he had once heard - 'an entire ocean is affected by a single pebble'.

He found no reason to do anything else.

:: CHAPTER VIII :: VISION

Ironically, a reason soon found him. A Force vision plagued his dreams for weeks, becoming more and more intense to the point he began believe it was reality. Unable to stand by and watch it unfold, Ember thought he would repeat the same mistakes of reluctance the NJO made by continuing his exile.

The Jedi within him reborn, he sold his shop and ventured forth to action.

To help those truly in need wherever they were.

Not to destroy evil...

...but to preserve good.

[signature force powers]
:: MECHU MACTURE ::

Commonly known as Ionize, the technique allows Ember to unleash a stream of ionic energy capable of disabling completely droids and other electronic systems. It is completely useless against organic targets but a trump card against electronic targets whatever they may be. While there are three levels of proficiency of this technique (Stun, Disable, Destroy), Ember has so far been able to sufficiently perform the technique up to the Disable level.

:: ALTER ENVIRONMENT ::

The hardest to learn and perform from his signature set of force powers (depending on desired result), Alter Environment is also Ember's only technique capable of destruction and death. Yet, Ember has found less lethal ways of using this ability thanks to his diligence, while also straining him much less. Its flexibility allows Ember to adapt to various situations smoothly and gives him an edge of unpredictability. Moreover, Alter Environment's immense opportunities to unleash hell are reserved by Ember for a last-ditch effort.

:: FORCE BARRIER ::

One of the most basic Force techniques, it is also one of the first Force powers taught to young Jedi. Ember has gone an extra mile, or even two, from his peers in devoting hours to the learning of this technique to the point of utilizing it instinctively as a reflex. He has recently advanced the level of his knowledge of Force Barrier to the technique known as Protection Bubble. While the two techniques are different in the sense that the latter is much more draining but also quite more capable in protecting.

:: FORCE STASIS ::

The more potent version of Force Stun, Force Stasis is the complete antipode of Mechu Macture. It disables organic targets while being completely useless against inorganic targets such as droids. Force Stasis induces the target into a near-catatonic state, freezing them in one place, concurrently deadening their senses. It is a very useful technique in terms of crowd control or the desire to avoid combat and meaningless death of enemies/live obstacles.

:: FORCE VALOR ::

Force Valor is an ability Ember regularly uses if he is in a situation requiring an increased resolve, accuracy and speed. More often, he uses it upon his allies to boost their capabilities rather than using it on himself. Nonetheless, there's been dire situations where this technique has worked as a reliable trump card in the pursuit of Ember's survival. A very underestimated technique that at the right time of use can be paramount in the unfolding of a situation.

:: FORCE BLINDING ::

An easy but very useful technique utilized by Ember mainly to escape situations where the odds were even. More specifically, this ability has saved him from being stampeded by multiple foes at once allowing him to either disable a small number of hostile targets or flee. Its crowd controlling capabilities are also quite good against single targets. Unprepared foes may very well be surprised and give the opening Ember had been seeking.

:: PRECOGNITION ::

Ever since he grew stronger in the Force, Ember has been plagued by visions. Unlike masters of precognition, his are quite vague, mysterious and most of the time a puzzle he has to solve in his own time. Nonetheless, his capabilities in foresight allow him to an additional flexibility in combat and any decision making process. To make sense of his visions he usually ends up venturing to seek them out occasionally either finding nothing or being lured into a trap. He seeks to find whether some visions are distorted or in some way inserted/manipulated by an external force. At least some of them.

:: FORCE BOND ::

The bond was forged with his apprentice after the traumatic experiences that Ember suffered with [member="Anais Auraeli"] in the hands of [member="Jairus Starvald"] and [member="Irajah Ven"]. While the link between the two is durable, it is not as 'functional' to the extent of both communicating over light years but rather gives both a sense of safety, belief and fortitude when together. It eases their work together and improves their teamwork when they are near each other but developing it still has a long way to go.
