Private Embargo Embarassments

"The saber," he grunted, is a natural response to danger. You attempting to hit me falls in that category, whether or not it's effective."

Another woman stepped forward to greet them as they arrived at the run down facility. The door creaked open ahead of them and dim lighting illuminated an austere room, cleaned out of any debris. A trio of chairs and a table sat alone in the middle.

When they entered, the door slid shut and the lock clicked. Alkor gestured for the woman who had named herself as "Ana" to take a seat. He didn't care if that was a false name or not. It didn't matter, as long as they got back the goods.

Ultimately, failure to protect the business' assets was their largest concern.

"So, you were about to get to the part where we find out where that speeder was headed," he got immediately to the point. He kept the lightsaber ignited for the duration it took the thief to settle in.

The other Knight offered her a gentle, reassuring smile. Alkor knew the game, and it was likely the perp did, too. Good cop, bad cop.

Only Alkor was probably the worst cop of all time.

Aye, she knew the game.

queen of it all was if nothing she did phased him, she was willing to bet the same could be said for his partner. Vyri was starting to see there was no way to squirm herself out of this. Not tears. Not sex. Not violence. It was as obvious to her as it was to them that she was gonna need to start talking, but it didn’t change the fact that she couldn’t.

She let her shoulders drop, a sense of urgency building up in her chest.

“Can’t I at least have water first?” She croaked, abruptly grateful for the strain of the injury and today’s events. It had no longer become a matter of eluding, but stalling her confession entirely.

Can’t fuck over her crew if they’re already free and clear.

"Mmmm." Alkor gestured to the Knight adjacent to him without breaking eye contact. The stress that permeated the woman was apparent, even if she tried not to show it. Alkor's senses with the Force were honed to a degree that picked up on the minutia that most Adepts missed.

Which wasn't always a positive experience.

"You understand that the longer you take to tell us, the more drastic things start to get in terms of response? If it's just us, we pick up the stolen goods, we return them, a fine gets incurred and everyone gets to leave..."

He tapped the table a few times with his fingers. "...if it goes beyond this room, and I give the all clear to CDF, they start stopping people randomly, searching them, closing down spaceports and seizing civilian vessels. Really, you may end up inconveniencing a lot of people."

The woman returned with a glass of water for "Ana," and placed it on the table in front of her.

Vyri wrapped her fingers around the cool circumference of the glass, steadying herself. His words washed over her, the woman closing her eyes and taking a tempering breath in an out.

Yeah. She was aware. It still changed nothing.

She wasn't a snitch.

"All that for a few suits?" She finally answered, her voice tired as she opened her eyes again. He would see the dull acceptance for her situation-- a sense of feckless defeat that came from countless experiences like this one before. Desensitized was the word, the woman's posture slouching into the chair as she brought the glass up to her mouth with her cuffed hands.

"Seems a bit much, don't you think?" Her words bubbled up from inside the glass, the woman giving it a sniff.
