OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To sub Enyo's strike force of choice, so that there is a frame of reference for PVE and possibly PVP threads. Basically her personal goon squad.
  • Image Credit: Here. By artist 'Mental Rampage', original source unknown. I used reverse image search, but got nothing. TinEye told me no match.
  • Links: Enyo Typhos, Ylva Wolfsbane, Iron Fist Consortium

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Eisenkrieger
  • Affiliation: Enyo Typhos, Iron Fist Consortium
  • Classification: Paramilitary Cyborg Infantry
  • Equipment:
Standard:

Specialised or reserved for higher ranks:
Cybernetics:

[*]Bonemer
[*]Cybernetic Respirator

COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Availability: Rare
  • Deployment: Minor
Strengths & Weaknesses:
  • Cybernetic implants endow them with enhanced strength, speed, durability and reaction time compared to an average human. Furthermore, brain implants enhance coordination and allow them to communicate nonverbally. Their implants are hardened to provide greater resistance against ion and EMP attacks and they wear armour that provides protection, though powerful blasts could still deactivate or destroy their augmentations. All in all, compared to a normal human they have a 1.5x performance bonus. They can hold that weight longer too than common humans, so that counts as well.
  • Well-trained and equipped. While they are not on the level of elite trops of a megacorporation or galactic power, they are an effective fighting force, especially since a number of them are veterans with military experience. They are the most trusted minions of the Consortium.
  • Like every mechanical being, they are vulnerable to mechu-deru. This is convenient for their boss, who is a practitioner, but also makes them vulnerable to hostile technomancers.
  • Limited heavy weapons. This is a problem if they face an enemy who deploys aircraft and heavy combat vehicles in significant numbers, especially in an open battlefield with little cover.
  • No combat vehicles.
  • No Force powers.
  • Low numbers. The Eisenkrieger are deployed in small squads. They are a good choice for raids and can provide leadership for the basic grunts of the Iron Fist, but while they are skilled they could be overwhelmed by larger units.

Description:

While Enyo Typhos rebelled against Archangel and the genocidal machine cult's plans for her, she did not entirely abandon their beliefs. Indeed, the machine cult had been more successful at influencing her world view than she would admit. One of those views she retained was that in many ways machines and cybernetic organisms were superior to mere flesh and blood beings.

Thus it was only natural that Enyo surround herself with a corps of cyborgs after founding the Iron Fist Consortium, which is both a mafia and a tool for her to avenge herself against Archangel and claim what she considers to be her birthright. It helped that Enyo was an organic-machine hybrid herself and had become proficient with the esoteric technique known as mechu-deru.

Thus the Eisenkrieger were born. Their members were chosen through Darwinian selection. In other words, attrition. Minions who proved themselves in gang wars or raids on targets such as Archangel bases were inducted into the group. A number of the 'Iron Warriors' are veterans of the Sith-Republic War who for this or that reason could not adjust and found themselves in the underworld. Others are street rats who showed promise and rose in the ranks of the gang, distinguishing themselves in the eyes of the boss. Others again are victims of Archangel who signed up because the ruthless hybrid offered them a shot at gaining revenge. Regardless of their origins, they were rewarded with cybernetic enhancements. Some of them only appreciated this gift after being subjected to intense indoctrination.

While cybernetics are common in the Iron Fist, the Eisenkrieger receive more sophisticated ones, often personally created by their boss. These range from cybernetic limbs to adrenalin implants or say a mechanical heart to increase performance. These augmentations make them deadlier combatants, but also allow Enyo to control them due to mechu-deru. Promotion and access to more sophisticated implants is based on merit. With the help of Neda Chazzak, a former NCO in the One Sith Army who deserted during the Galactic Alliance conquest of Coruscant, and the Valkyri berserker [member="Ylva Wolfsbane"] Enyo forged them into an effective fighting force. Alas, not every recruit survived the process, but as Ylva would say, they made good sacrifices to the Goddess Ear.

Their training empathises cohesion and discipline rather than lone wolf actions, making them more reliable than the average goon of the Consortium. In return, they are rewarded with better pay, better gear and loot. Discipline is tight and methods of enforcement range from corporal punishment to termination of individuals who manifest behaviour that make them a liability to the unit. They tend to acquire their gear on the black market or by looting raid targets. Pillaging on missions is also a way to supplement their pay, making it part of the paramilitary organisation's business model.

Enyo favours them and also uses them as an instrument of control inside the mafia. This has been the cause of jealousy on the part of the common goons, and can lead to rivalries tension, even on the battlefield. But it has also fostered an esprit de corps amongst the Eisenkrieger, improving cohesion within the unit. While capable warriors, the Eisenkrieger are few in number. They excel at rapid strikes and skirmishes, but would fare poorly against larger forces, especially if they face an opponent with armoured fighting vehicles and heavy weapons. They also do not possess preternatural powers, in other words they are not Force-users.

Love the submission- cool art, flavor and hooks into your personal story. Can you please add a general idea how much the increases the cybernetics give to these folks? Just a regular modifier will work fine here, e.g. '2x' or something else.

Thanks. :)

I've added the following to the first strength (where the cybernetics are talked about): 'All in all, compared to a normal human they have a 1.5x performance bonus. They can hold that weight longer too than common humans, so that counts as well.'

They're elite mooks, and can keep it up for longer than a regular human. So 150% seems reasonable without being overpowered.
