Efficiency

Corondex Arms Corporate Office
Etti IV
Corporate Sector

Earlier this month, Vitor and the three other former classmates that formed the leadership of Corondex Arms had come to the decision to invest in machinery that would make the manufacturing process more efficient. Increase profit margin, cut down cots, retain quality. After a large intelligence campaign and a process of filtering out, the board of Corondex Arms had stopped onto Maw Construction Group. A manufacturing group operating out of First Order space which was the opposite side of the galaxy.

Nonetheless, the prices quoted and the small but reliable reputation they had, Maw Construction Group seemed as the perfect group to partner with. Vitor, of course, had more than just the simple idea of buying. He had researched thoroughly, with the help of his reliable aide - June, the company's portfolio.

They also seemed to be producing droids capable of combat.

And there was no combat without arms.

Sitting on a standard office rolling chair in the generic meeting room, Vitor and June awaited the representatives of Maw Construction Group. Datapads in front of them spewing tons of information consistently, both waited patiently. When the representatives of MAW would arrive, they would find out that Corondex Arms was certainly not as big to have it's own building but only a floor of a large office building. Its interior was the generic interior start up companies had.

There was still a long way to go for Corondex Arms.

Etti IV
Corporate Sector

Maw Construction Group had been stuck with minor works in First Order Space, not even gaining a contract with the said faction. Business had been good to the company, but they were never really going anywhere. The company now had a chance to spread its influence further. In this case further was the other side of the galaxy, which did not bother Heveticus Maw, the owner of the MCG. If demand was high enough in this area, he could set up a regional office and factory nearby.

Heveticus Maw was surprised when dialogue was started with Corondex Arms, he did not expect a weapons manufacturing group to approach him. It did not matter to him, it could be a mutually beneficial arrangement. They would have access to his products while he would have good access to what seems to be high-quality weapons.
Heveticus Maw personally made the trip to Etti IV. He brought a shipment of Construction Management Unit droids for demonstration, as well as detailed schematics and prototypes of his other products.

Heveticus landed on the planet nearby the Corondex Arms Office and took a speeder to the office. He entered the building and took the elevator to the designated meeting room, after announcing himself at the building reception.

"Mr Avendahl, it is good to meet you. I am Heveticus Maw, if you did not already know," he said.

Vitor stood up from his seat to handshake the founder of Maww Construction Group before sitting once again and gesturing for the guest to do the same.

"Pleasure to meet you finally, Mr. Maw." He nodded with a slight smile and then with a nod at his aide Vitor sent her to serve them some caf. Whether Mr. Maw would accept one was up to him. Vitor wanted to get down to business. Taking the datapad in his hands and scrolling down the portfolio of products Maw offered, the former miner spoke. "I see you've brought a sample droid here with you, that is great. I would assume that is the security droid, correct ? It is great to see one of your products live, yet we have found interest in your manufacturing droid. I would love to know more about it."

Heveticus thanked the aide for the drink, the trip had been long and he hadn't managed much sleep.
"My company personally uses this droid in our factories. Since the introduction of the Construction Management Unit droid, we have had no sabotage or fouling of material by pests." He gestured to the droid. "I could give you a demonstration of the droid, but I think the location is inappropriate at present."

"Now, the General And Specialised Technologies Robotic Operator has also been tested and is actively used in our factories. This droid has helped us cut cost and lowered any chance of humanoid error. It has the capability to lift very heavy weight and has a large height, giving it needed utility in particular construction areas. The droid, as standard, does not come with installed protocols. However, we are willing to offer these to you if you desire for us to install these."

"It can in no way corrupt and turn against you, it is a core feature of this droid that it will not kill anyone regardless of authority. The droid can be programmed to suit nearly any role. It can assist with automation of factories, construct factories, buildings and even weapons installations."

"If you have any particular questions, I will do my best to answer them," Heveticus said, catching his breath.

"Excellent." Vitor said with satisfaction. "We will be definitely looking at sealing a contract that supplies us with the-" He looked at his datapad briefly. "GASTRO droids."

"I do not doubt the CMU droid's capabilities of minimizing sabotage but being at the heart of the Corporate Sector, we've found the chance of that happening close to null." Vitor explained and then proceeded. "On the other hand, our legislation team have already prepared the documents and are ready to send it over to your team and to yourself. The price found there is the same one we negotiated prior to us meeting here."

"Also, Mr. Maw, I've read on your portfolio with what standard weaponry do your CMU units come with." The banker locked his eyes with the other man. "Perhaps I can intrigue with...improved armament?"

Heveticus broke eye contact to briefly look at his datapad on the products of Corondex Arms.

"At the moment we have been buying weapons from local dealers, but that has been more for convenience than anything else. What kind of improved armaments do you have in mind? I am always looking for quality products I can use. What capabilities do these armaments have over standard arms?" Heveticus questioned.

Heveticus had not seen Corondex Arms equipment before, but an introduction of superior weapons could both improve the CMU's efficiency while also providing a quality weapons supplier for the company.

"Certainly. I am glad you asked, Mr. Maw." Vitor shot a glance at June and she knew what to do. Heading to the corner of the room where a shelf on which a coffee machine stood upon, June knelt before it and opened it. From within she took out a black-colored assault rifle. June brought it back to the table and put it in front of Mr. Maw.

"I am not sure of your expertise in arms, Mr. Maw. We can always had to a shooting range where you could use the weapon itself but I will, nonetheless, give you a honest description of what it is." Vitor gestured at the weapon and gathered his breath to explain the rifle's pros and cons to the businessman.

"Based on the wookie bowcasters, it shoots solid slugs that are energy coated. The thermal and kinetic energy behind them can punch a hole in the thickest of materials. It combines the best of two technologies. The recoil it has can make it a difficult weapon to handle." Vitor shifted his eyes to the droid Mr. Maw had brought with him. "That is of course if it is a human. A droid, with a tight powered grip, can certainly keep this weapon at bay and that is when this rifle becomes truly dangerous."

Any additional information on the rifle could be found in Mr. Maw's datapad. Vitor awaited any possible questions the man might have.

"Very impressive. The specifications show a decent quality weapon for a very affordable price. It is also aesthetically pleasing," Heveticus said, smiling at Vitor.

Heveticus was pleased, he seemed to be getting a very good deal out of this. The G-35 is cheaper than the current blasters used by the CMU droids. Future sales of the CMU would become more profitable in the future from the cutting of expenses.

"Because you are trusting me with my products, I will trust you with yours. I am also not a particularly good shooter. I am willing to phase in this rifle into the equipment of my CMU droids. Future constructions of my droids will include these, so we can have a long lasting contract. I am happy to buy a starting shipment of 1000 G-35's and increase the amount as you manufacture the required amount, we will send you a deposit for those by the end of the galactic standard week. I feel like this meeting has been beneficial to you, it has certainly been so to me."

Vitor stood up with a satisfactory smile on his face as he hand shook Mr. Maw for goodbye. Good business was done today. Good both for Corondex and for Maw. There were a lot of benefits to be reaped.

"It has been a pleasure, Mr. Maw." The younger of the two gestured at the rifle. "As a gift, please do take it with you. All the documentation has been sent to your representatives and to you too, Sir."

"In the future, as both firms grow, I see great rewards for both of us, Mr. Maw." He smirked and made June lead Mr. Maw to the way out.
